December Water Parks

Hello Disney Fans,

My family will be going to Disney during the 2nd week of December 2019. I was trying to locate the threads on the water parks and which one would be open during our stay? I remember reading that it should be Typhoon lagoon that will be open and Blizzard Beach closed during our trip, but I can't seem to locate the link to the article!

Any help is appreciated!

We were at Disney Dec 8 -15 last year and that week it was Typhoon Lagoon that was open. We went, had a great time and the crowds were quite manageable at Typhoon Lagoon. I would anticipate it being the same for 2019.

It varies. Often Blizzard Beach is kept open for Nov & Dec with the winter theme fitting the Christmas holiday but other years they go with Typhoon Lagoon.

Normally, Blizzard Beach closes October through January, but they do switch them up from time to time.

Only Typhoon Lagoon is listed as open from October 27 on, so presumably they are going with their normal refurbishment routine and it will be Typhoon Lagoon that is open in December.

We have gone in December. Our last trip we had nice weather [about 80 F] the day we went to Typhoon Lagoon. Just over a week later when we returned from our cruise, WDW was experiencing a record cold spell with temps hovering at freezing for a few days and all pools and the water park were closed.

We were in fla dec 2016 I think it was we were on a SeaWorld trip.. we did discovery cove and only stayed half day bc it was so cold and then we managed maybe two hours another day at Aquatica another day then it closed the rest of the week because of weather ..
was lovely for walking parks but too cold for water activities and we are Canadian
