Hi all

Hoping to fit in a 10 day trip to Orlando before the end of the year.

We have been looking at early December as we would like to experience the festive celebrations !

This would be our first visit at this time of year - what can we expect in terms of crowds/weather etc.

Also - what are the must do events !

We have been this time of year and it is great!! You can expect

Minimal crowds
Short or no queues
lovely christmas decorations to get you in the festive spirit
Sales in the shops!! (normally happens just after thanksgiving)

The weather was great though it does get a bit chilly in the evenings!!

Don't miss mickeys very merry christmas party!!!

This is our fav time of the year to visit WDW!!:Pinkbounc

I can't wait. It will be my first December visit, we normally go in October, so I am hoping it will live up to that. Minimal queues sound fab to me :D

We are flying out thanksgiving day. We went in october last year for a change but didn't like it as much. We missed all the festive decorations and the christmas party.

This will be our third december visit. Its great because we feel really christmassy when we get home.

Try and get priority seating for the Liberty Tree Tavern in magic kingdom if you are having dinner before the christmas party. We go there everytime because it feels like we are having christmas dinner early.

Have fun.

We went in December 2002. Weather was a bit off, it rained almost everyother day - don't worry we were told it was a bad December.
No queues at all !!!

Don't miss :
Mickeys Christmas Party - watch out the change in the flying tinkerbell at the start of the fireworks. Free Hot chocolate and cookie - lovely to sip whilst watching the parade.

The osbourbne lights at MGM, with 3D Angel glasses. DW cried constantly !

Macy's parade at Universal (if they are still doing it)

Christmas themed shows i.e. Blues Brothers at Universal.

Christmas music whilst walking around the parks in sunshine.

The Grinchmas -- nuff said!

Cheap Christmas shopping.

Lots and lots more could go on for ages....

yes, the first two weeks of december are the best time of all in WDW....no crowds.....one year the CM let us stay on splash mountain without getting off to run around in line....we stayed on 6 times in a row!!!! (because no one was in line)...

one warning about the weather however.....be prepared for both hot and cold as it can be either...
one year we had such beautiful weather we went swimming every day (either in the hotel or at blizzard beach)...
however, one year we were there, a bitter cold wave hit central florida....it was COLD......my kids were in their winter snow parkas, hats and mittens.....so be prepared for both possibilities....i don't mean to specially bring parkas, but definitely have a bit of cold weather clothing along, just in case....

This will be the 3rd year I have been to Disney in December and the 3rd year of MVMCP.

I missed Osbourne lights last year glad their back.

Whether is changeable but early December crowds are light
(gets busy over xmas still the best place to be IMHO! but don't expect to do lots of rides all the time over Xmas).

I will be arriving Saturday 27th November and Can't wait!

Macy's Parade was on last year when we were at US but lacked the Disney

::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo princess: effect according to all members of our family.

Candlelight processional is also wonderful.

I'm now in planning for 4 weeks next Xmas because I love that time of year at WDW so much!!

What date do the festive celebrations start - we are aiming to go in the week after the thanksgiving weekend !
