Introduction Me 49, DW 39, DD 2 ½, all HUGE Disney fans
Note: See my restaurant report posted 12/14 for meal details.
DAY 3 (12/3 Mon)
Hopped on the Character Breakfast bus (this was a nice perk in that you can go directly to your to Character Meal without transferring)! Rode to the CONT for breakfast with Chef Mickey. DD LTC as well as swinging her napkin over her head again! Took the MR to the MK. DW was wearing her new Minnie hat but felt she needed a brim for the sun. (This is the red hat with pokka dots, ears & rolled up brim.) I swapped my new 100-year cap with DW & wore Minnies. Yes I was the guy wearing the Minnie hat in Fantasyland! I did get some interesting reactions though so it was worth it. DD & DW rode Dumbo, Teacups & Cindys Carousel, all DDs favorites! We rode Pooh ride & DD loved it! Then on to Toon Town to see Mickey & Minnies houses. I tried to get DD to ride Goofys Barnstormer with me, got her measured & she passed! But she chickened out at the last minute. What do you mean at 2 ½ years youre scared!?!? Rode train to Main Street Station. Then back to CBR for Lunch & R&R. Ill take a moment here to mention the great treatment you get from Mousekeeping when you return to your room. They will take your stuffed animals/characters & make a fun scenario with them! Examples: Finding the animals/characters arranged on the bed with Chef Mickey serving up an apple we had left on the table. Wash cloth animals (a bunny & dove I think) & a towel snowman in the window with THE Minnie hat on set in the window with a note saying missed you, hope you had fun today. (Im thinking the hat looked better on the snowman than me!) Examples of two of the cutest from last years trip are: Getting back & wondering what the TV was on for (we KNEW we had turned it off) & all the toys are on the bed watching TV & the controller is in one of their hands (a male character Im sure!) Finding toilet paper rolled all along the floor & under the bed with a dog chewing the end of it! (Bad Dog!) They do an EXCELLENT job in giving a great laugh after a long day at the parks! Back to the MK, caught Share a Dream Come True Parade. This is a great parade! Then met Liver Lips & Genie on the way to dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern & DD LTC! The best was Dale sliding a young guest across the floor in his chair from a couple of tables down. Dale then tied the boy to a post in the corner with a towel & left him there for a couple of minutes! I guess its been too long since I watched Chip & Dale. I dont remember Dale being the bad boy of the two. Seems Dale was more the cut-up than Chip more than once this trip. Back to CBR, had food court pizza for a late night snack.
DAY 4 (12/4 Tues)
Breakfast at CBR (had dessert actually) & got snide comments from the people at the next table about our bad nutrition, oh well! DW & I werent sure if they were commenting on my key lime pie or our DDs muffin (or was it a cupcake?!?) Who cares, since half of the food court offerings are closed till 5PM (so your limited on what you can get)?!? This is just another negative perk from the cutbacks. Then went swimming/wading at the main, kiddy & Martinique pools. Headed off to Epcot. We went straight to the Coral Reef for lunch. This was our first time there. We liked the aquarium view but thought the food overpriced for the quality. We then walked around the World Showcase & caught Frances Santa (Par Noel SP?) telling stories. DD wasnt overly impressed because he didnt look quite right. Took in Impressions De France, my favorite & DD was mesmerized. I was so pleased! I went to the wine cellar & got my favorite, a glass of Perno! Stopped to watch the Tapestry of Dreams parade, (I missed the butterfly like characters from TON last year, I think I heard later they might have been in the night version only this trip) but otherwise we loved it including that excellent music. DD loved the interaction with the dreamcatcher both at the beginning AND end of parade. Got some excellent pictures & video, another great parade! I sat next to an older guest who wanted advise taking pictures, she kept mentioning she was worried about running out of pictures. At first I thought she was out of film so I had a roll in my hand ready to give her, when I asked and realized she just wanted to know when to change film so she wouldnt miss anything! She really GOT to me when she said, This will be my only chance in my life to see this, so dont want to miss anything! Went on to America and got in the line for DD to see the REAL Santa. Well that was a good plan, but the line was long & her patience was short. She started to throw a fit so we got out of line to defuse the situation. Then she wanted to get back in line but too late, they had roped it off. Oh well, a low moment in our Epcot visit. We then had Dinner at Akershus (best meal at Epcot IMHO) while DD took a much needed nap. We have to keep reminding ourselves, just because her eyes are WIDE open doesnt mean she doesnt need a nappy! Isnt it funny how we adults do the same thing (were having too much fun to be tired, right?)! The Christmas lights/arches were impressive. I had forgotten how neat these were 4 years ago. Someone handed my wife a Fast Pass for Test Track (how nice of her) so I got to ride & take video, GREAT! On the way out for the evening we rode Spaceship Earth. I wished we could have spent more time here, as this is my favorite park.
