Dec. 1-8 for us! Family of 7, first time for everyone. Just dug out the suitcases. WDW, here we come!

That's when we'll be there!!!

We're leaving on the 30th and staying in GA. 5 more days!!!

I need to start packing!!! I'm going to be so busy this week!!!

We will in Disney from 11/30-12/14 for our anniversary. The trip came up pretty quickly and I haven't had a lot of time to prepare. I'm very confused! The park hours seem earlier than I remember (20 years ago). Without going to MVMCP will we be able to see the fireworks at the castle in Magic Kingdom?

8 thru 12. Picked these dates to avoid as much of a crowd as possible. After seeing the poll it looks like, at least from responses on this board, those dates are more crowded than any other times in December!

LOL! Don't be too fooled by the poll on the DIS!

First, look at the total number of folks that voted so far: 436. That's barely a drop in the bucket as far as WDW is concerned.

Now look at the number in each category. That's even more negligible.

Secondly, keep in mind that most DISers are pretty WDW savvy and know that the 2nd week of December is the slowest week at WDW all year (although it's becoming more crowded than it used to be several years ago) so many DISers make plans to go during that time period.

My previous post (which I've re-quoted below) shows some crowd estimations for the month of Dec:

Yep. That's the week we're heading down there as well (12/9-12/14).

At least the overall estimated crowd levels for the second week are still smaller than the first and third weeks of December according to the Unofficial Guide crowd calendar (although not by much). I guess because Pop Warner, the Christmas Parade taping, and cheerleading competitions will be over by the end of that first week.

The average crowd level for 12/2-12/8 is 5.4 (out of 10 being the biggest).
Specifically: 6,5,4,6,5,5,7 (Sun-Sat)

The average crowd level for 12/9-12/15 is 4.7.
Specifically: 6,4,4,5,4,4,6 (Sun-Sat)

The average crowd level for 12/16-12/22 is 5.0.
Specifically: 6,5,4,6,4,4,6 (Sun-Sat)

Sadly, I'm used to these same few weeks all being in the 1 and 2 range, so seeing the 4s and higher is rough. Still better than summer or holiday crowds, but not as nice as it once was.

For those wondering on the remaining dates:

12/23 is an 8.

12/24-12/31 are ALL 10s.

So don't get too mislead by this poll. Just remember who is taking part in the poll.

J and R's Mom, believe me, I am very aware of the crowds and what to expect when we go from Dec.27-Jan.4. If you would have read it correctly, i said, "if only that were really true." I have been there many times during this same week to know that it is wall to wall people. DH and I are teachers and unfortuantely it is the only time we can get to come so we make the best of it and try to come with a good attitude. I just felt the need to clarify my joking mood since I feel I am being made to look so ignorant that no one will be there the week between Christmas and New Year's. But thank you for spelling out and doing the math for those of us who just don't know better!

Going dec 12- 26th .... trying to hit alot of the "must do's" before the really crowds come on Dec23. I don't know, I just want to get in the Christmas Spirit and from what i see Disney is the place to go.

Here at home i feel it is not the same anymore.... it's all about the shopping (I hate shopping!!!)

I quoted you BECAUSE you said you knew better. It helped highlight my point that the results of this poll are a bit skewed from what to expect from the actual reality of the crowds.

How you took it as a personal insult to you is beyond me. I quoted a person that fears the LEAST crowded week will be the most crowded based on this poll and I quoted you saying that you know that won't be the case. How is that making you look ignorant? It's proving your (and my) point.

I recommend PMing me any other opinions so that we can take this debate OFF this thread and leave it a happy place.

Whoa! You need to relax. I have to say you are way more upset about this than me but I am more than happy to let this go and continue planning my very happy holiday season and what will be our memorable fun filled trip to Disney.

I apologize to anyone who had to read all this drama and I do truly hope you all have a wonderful time this month no matter how crowded it is!
