I must say when we took our 5 year old to Disneyworld in 2000 it was a wonderful trip. We LOVEd it and we went the 2nd week in December. We are taking our now 8 year old along with our new three adopted children ages 12, 11 and 9. I am starting to panic. We are again going the 2nd of December as I was hoping to have light crowds as I know it will be a different ballgame this time around. Our five year old was confined to a stroller and now we have four kids to chase after. It seems a ton of people are going in December about the same time as us. Is this still the slow time? Also we LOVED MGM due to B&B and Hunchback. Can someone tell me a little about Millionaire and how it works? We missed Indiana Jones last time and will definitely make that and Fantasmic. I really think 1/2 day is enough for this park now unfortunately. What do you guys think? Our first trip was a big success due to this board and I want this one to be just as good.

Early December is one of the best time to visit WDW.Crowds will be light to average and weather for the most part is great.Weve been first part of December each year since 1992.Just bring clothes you can layer because temps can vary from cold to hot in a short time. With all the holiday decorations and special shows including Osborne Lights,MVMCP and Candlelight Processional. You are going to have great time.Hunchback Show went dark, sorry.WWTBM Show they ask questions and you push button at your seat to answer whoever answers correct and quickest gets to hot seat where you can win up to a 7 day Disney Cruise if you get to top level and answer the question right. So relax and plan on have a magical time on your vacation.::yes:: :wave2:

I'll just tell you what I did, maybe it'll help you. I joined up for www.tourguidemike.com and am panic free this afternoon! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I registered here in 2001 after just reading these boards for a year or so. We've to Disney about once a year since 1989 so I feel VERY confident telling you I know the ropes BUT, like you, our next trip is a Christmas trip and taking more people than we usually do. I was a kookoo bird for a month with thousands of pieces of paper & notes all around me. My family would just shake their head when they made eye contact with me over my guide books & notes. I've never been at Christmas & from what I read it's a different ballgame. I signed up for tourguidemike, (I think it's 21.95) spent one afternoon reading all the stuff he lined out for me and today I'm organized, calm and looking forward to the trip. I cooked today and hummed and DIDN'T STRESS OUT!

Good Luck & keep us posted

The first 2 weeks of December are still relatively quiet. These forums contain IMO the best DVC board there is, so the rest of the boards get a lot of DVC members visiting and early December is peak time for DVC as it is low points. Last year I visited during the end of December and crowds were wonderful right up until the weekend before Crhistmas day when they increased tremendously.

Your going to love the beginning of Dec....actually our family will be there with 4 kids also very similar ages....

They will love Millionaire....it is the passion of our family.....out of 6 of us 5 have made it into the hot seat some mulitple times....this includes my 6yr old last dec.....It is fun and addicting...

MGM is also one of our favorite parks and at Christmas time you will also be able to enjoy the Christmas decorations and the Osbourne lights...

Also, you might think about spending an evening at MVMCP....it is a sparate ticket event ...at MK that is a blast....

Also, don't miss the Candle Light Processional at EPCOT...

Have a great time...

Your timing is great, but you are right that your trip will be different moving around with 4 kids vs one in a stroller. It can be just as special, but remember 6 people will have 6 different ideas.
Get an idea a head of time what everyone does not want to miss. Keep in mind when you are in the park, the kids' attention will be turned in many directions. Just be flexible. Our 3 kids are 14, 12, and 10 and we have made 7 trips with them in 11 years. The first trip with the 3 y/o and 10mos/o in a double stroller was a breeze;they went were we pushed them- no questions. The last one June 03 was also great, but had more discussions about what to do next.
