It's my first time posting. I am absolutely obsessed with this site and am thrilled to have found such wonderful information. Anyways...

We are thinking of going to WDW in either early December 2011 or late January 2012. I was looking for any opinions or advice on how to decide. As of right now I'm leaning toward December because of the Christmas aspect. I know there are also ride closures in January. Does the temperature tend to vary much between those times? Thanks so much for any advice or suggestions!

Welcome fellow Minnesotan!!! Absolutely, without a second thought, I would go in December. We have visited the world during both of those times and you can not beat being in Disney for the holiday festivities. As for weather, you will probably find better weather in December, but it's a toss up. Don't think twice about it, start getting ready to book for a beautiful Christmas trip!!

I've gone twice in January, and while there are still some Christmas decorations up, I would go in December.

In January you need to check into repair schedules so that you know when the rides you want to see are open - they are posted on the Disney web site. Also depending on when you go in January you may have pictures of a crane behind the castle taking down the lights (this is in a lot of our 2009 pictures) and it is also a big group trip month for schools in South America who are on summer break. I found it amusing, but not everyone does. ;)

the first time we visited in January we went the 2nd week of January and hit beautiful weather. one or two day sin the 80's, then 70's, when we left the temps were in the 60's but still gorgeous. The second time we went it was freezing (by FL standards) and we found ourselves stocking up on extra sweatshirts and blankets for watching fireworks and parades.

:santa: Do December!
