December MaGiC or was it?!? TR starts Pg. 39

Okay, so there you've heard it. This is the worse of it. It hit big plateau today but then eased down. Although, the rest of the trip wasn't as good as it could have been because of Steve's pain. It was nice.

And today, my children & I shared the experience of going to a WDW park by ourselves. I also had the best food of the trip today. Best QS & TS.

Roxanne.....you poor thing...I think you did handle this very well....and I hope your hubby is better :goodvibes

I'm glad you guys had a good time at Epcot despite what was weighing heavy on your mind  ......can't wait to hear the rest of your TR

Oh Roxanne so sorry to hear about the bad experiences on your trip so far- I just read the whole TR tonight- I've been so busy. I just updated mine tonight too. I hate rude people :headache:  My son gets shy sometimes when new people talk to him. Hope he gets over that...
Hope things get better and We never even saw one dream squad person the whole trip, I thought maybe it had been a cruel joke- Year of a Million Dreams- Well not for us!! Although we did have some magic moments!!! :wizard:

Ok I'm all caught up! Roxanne, I can't tell you how much I can relate to some of this! No kidney stones - although my step-dad gets them all the time and I'm shocked we didn't have this issue on our last trip - but I have had the stomach bug run through all of us and put a bit of a damper on the trip, so I can relate! I hope it does indeed get better! :goodvibes

Your boys are precious and I love the napping pictures as well! Too funny! Sometimes kids can just go and go and then BOOM they are out like a light - even sitting up straight in a chair! Kids and Grandpas, that is!

Looking forward to more!

Sara

I'm going to move you to our regular board.

Ohmari

OMG! I wopuld have been a wreck, I can't take vacation stress. You did well. Don't know how I would have managed a broken camera, the bad dreams I had about losing my camera alone were enough! Must have been scary for you when Steve was taken to the hospital. Good thing you did get the insurance! I am sold on that now.
I love all the pictures and can't wait to read and see more.

Merry Christmas

wow......how horrible about the kidney stones! my DH had them back in '99 a few days before we were supposed to leave for WDW with his family and we ended up not going because of it....so i know they're no joke! how great that the resort refunded the ambulance ride. those things are not cheap! glad to hear it's about to get better. ;)

Been Busy, Busy, Busy....but here is alittle update....

Thursday, Dec. 6 (our anniversary)

We woke up really early today but everyone was ready pretty fast. I guess everyone had enough sleep. Steve was feeling yet alittle better than yesterday. We enchanged anniversary gifts. I gave Steve his cuff links and he got me a chain & pendant, earrings & ring all with sapphire stones. We went out to bus stop early & a bus didn’t come till 7:15!! Our reservations were for 7:30. Steve told the bus driver what we were told & he was sassy & said to get the ferry boat or monorail once we got to MK. Next we stopped at Riverside where again he said something nasty to a bunch of Pop Warner girls & their parents. He proceeded to each stop there even though we had no room left on the bus. I made friends with one of the Moms from the cheering squad who said they also had reservation at Poly & were told the same thing & that’s why he got ugly with them. She gave me the number to call since we were already late for our reservation. We got to MK & dashed to the monorail only to find out the one that stood before us broke down. We had to wait 30 minutes for another one. When we finally got to Poly, they didn’t show our reservation. I am thinking because we were now over an hour late but they seated us right away. This breakfast was really good. Stitch scared Matthew so much. He sneaked up onto him from behind. So no good pictures with Stitch.

Both kids loved dancing with the characters. We were not sure what we’d do today so decided to hit Tomorrowland at MK. We missed it the other day. Originally for today I had planned to do what we missed. I was too scared to ride Space Mountain with Taylor. I wasn’t scared of the ride but scared that he wouldn’t like it. So Steve brought him. Taylor ended up getting front seat, first car & loved it. While they went do more thing Matthew couldn’t like Stitch & the Speedway; I brought Matthew on the transit & Buzz & Carousel of Progress then we had a smoothie. I brought him play on the path to Toontown too. He saw the train & was able to wander freely. No one is ever back there. When the guys finished we all went back on Buzz

& Transit then we went to Monster Inc. Laugh Floor. This was too funny. Afterwards we left & went back to room where everyone took naps.

(My boys taking it all in on the bus back to the room)

We had MVMCP tonight. I hated to leave though because Matthew was in such a great mood. On our way out, I saw the dream team twice. I wanted to follow once, but didn’t. Even if it wasn’t us, I would have loved to see someone get something. We got to the hotel & I went get some beignets to share. And people, I have to say, nothing like the ones here – in the real New Oreans. Way too much powdered sugar. We took a 2 ½ hour nap, got into the shirts I made & were on our way to MK. We had 5 pm reservations at The Plaza. When I went to check in, someone zoomed a stroller in front of me to beat me, it seemed. Then others went around the stroller & got ahead of me too. They were running really late & didn’t seat us till 5:45. I inquired about the lateness because I saw other families of 4 who had later reservations and who checked in after us being called. We ended up with a good table, we saw Tink fly from the castle. I had a cheese steak sandwich with potatoe salad & a banana split. Sandwich was good. Potoato salad was gross. Not worth a table service IMO. Steve had a reuben that he barely touched. He hated the potatoes too & he got the apple dessert to go. We both had salads too. They were good. Taylor didn’t want an appetizer. He had mini burgers and got the ice cream for dessert & loved it all. I originally wanted to be at the Theatre in Tommorowland for the beginning of MVMCP to see the show there. So we headed that way & the place was full already.
DSC00223.jpg

We still got seats but had to wait for the show. Matthew is so not good waiting. It was worth it though. Everyone loved the show. Next we done the dance party at Cosmic Rays. Cute thing but no characters were there. We went see Santa then we caught the parade at 8:15.

DSC00242.jpg

We went back to Fantasyland & rode everything. We watched the fireworks from there.
DSC00244.jpg

We let the kids go play for a while in the Hundred Acre Forrest.
DSC00257.jpg

DSC00265.jpg

They enjoyed this so much. As you can tell, those naps paid off, Matthew is still eating cookies at almost midnight!!!
We rode POC again. Then Big Thunder Mtn. a few more times. It was near closing time & we left. We got so many compliments on our shirts. Everyone was fast asleep quickly.

Up next: Our last full day & meeting up with my nephew

Thanks for the update Roxanne - hope you and your family had a great Christmas! :santa:

That stinks that the bus driver was so rude - maybe he was just having a really bad day already. :confused3

Your shirts look great! I just knew they would make your family pictures look awesome! Is the santa picture the one you used for your cards this year?

Love the picture of the castle with cinderella's carriage passing by - too cool! :)

Hi- I am all caught up now. I haven't been on the boards for days due to my Dad's surgery and Christmas.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry about all your trouble. Bless your heart. I remember when you were debating about trip insurance- I told you that I never buy it. Boy, I am SO glad that you did not listen to me:rotfl: I will buy it from now on for sure.

We were both there for rope drop on Dec. 4- I am SO sad that I did not see you:) There really were not that many people there that morning.

I cannot wait to read the rest:)

Hi Roxanne. Somehow I missed this update. Your pictures are just beatiful!! Seemed like a pretty smooth day? Your shirts are AWESOME! You all look so nice in them.
Hope for another update soon, I miss you.

Great trip report and I love all the pictures. Your children are so adorable. I can relate to your husband's kidney stone. On our trip in 2003, I started having severe pain in my back on the day before we were to leave. I tried to go to the parks, but the pain was so bad I had to go back to the hotel room. I vomited all night long, and ended up in the emergency room on the morning we were driving back home. They did a cat scan, and said that I had a 6cm kidney stone. They gave me a prescription for pain medicine and we began the 16-hour drive home. That was the longest day of my life. I ended up with surgery to remove the stone when we got back home. My kidney was swelling because the stone was stuck. I never even considered trip insurance until this experience. Hope your husband's kidney stone situation got better. :)

Have yall given up on me? Yeah? Well, don't I'm still here :goodvibes

Oh my goodness! How horrible that Steve got kidney stones on your trip! I've never had them but I've heard for a man they are the equivalent of child birth! I'm glad you were able to make the best of your situation. I've never even considered trip insurance but it sure was worth it for you guys!
Gotta make the best of it. :)

ok that sounded painful. Good for all of u though. You for taking the kids to the park by yourself and for him going and meeting u. I think I might have gone home but who knows. That hospital bill is outrageous, I would love to own a hospital.
Pics were great.
Can you imagine the money they make a day??

Oh Roxanne! Aren't you the one who was debating on getting the trip insurance? So glad you had it! Did you say that the resort paid for the taxi and ambulance? Why did they do that? They'll pay for a taxi and ambulance, but charge you for faxes? I can't believe Taylor sleeps like that. My kids were the crazies on the night bus still going strong! We ate at Le Cellier too. Glad to hear that this is gonna get better!
I was debating it. I'm not sure why the resort did what they did, but I'm not complaining. The faxes were sure a lot cheaper than the ambulance & taxi.

Taylor can sleep anywhere, anyhow. You remember me trying to think of a good solution to him sleeping in the stroller? Well we zipped up his jacket around the stroller, sorta making a sling for him to lean back in & he was so comfy.

How was LeCellier for you?

Yikes! Glad that things are starting to turn around for your trip!
It'll keep getting better.

I swear I posted to this already, but I don't see it. I swear if this stuff happened to me it would have broke me! I think you do such a great job of keeping yourself together.
I have to laugh at Taylor and his naps, it cracks me up! The pic at LeCellier is priceless! I watch my 3 year old niece that won't nap for anything, I wish she would.
Missa thought she may have been passing a stone on the last day we were at the parks. It was nothing like his pain, but she was hurting for a while.
You would have kept going strong if this all happened to you, I know it. You would find a way, just like I did.

Does Missa get the stones often?
Roxanne.....you poor thing...I think you did handle this very well....and I hope your hubby is better

I'm glad you guys had a good time at Epcot despite what was weighing heavy on your mind ......can't wait to hear the rest of your TR
He was instantly better once he passed them :rolleyes1 I promise I'k=ll get to the rest soon. I ws coming to do another update but realized I missed replies.

I think the kids will get over that shyness. We teach them not to talk to strangers after all. And here I am telling him to talk to them now. I probably confused him.

The dream team did exist, I saw them, just never saw anyone get anything.

The only magic moment we got unfortunately was the kidney stone

Ok I'm all caught up! Roxanne, I can't tell you how much I can relate to some of this! No kidney stones - although my step-dad gets them all the time and I'm shocked we didn't have this issue on our last trip - but I have had the stomach bug run through all of us and put a bit of a damper on the trip, so I can relate! We've had the stomach bug hit there too. Whats up with that?

Kids & Grandpas - thats too funny. But you said it they go, go, go & BOOM, out.

I'm going to move you to our regular board.

Ok, thanks.

I will never take a trip without the insurance again.

I try to keep myself together but I tell ya, I had millions of thoughts racing theough my head.

The resort didn't refund the ambulance, we never had to fork out the money. Hows that for service? :goodvibes

You know, before our trip in 2000, I think, Steve had to have a little emergency procedure to remove some, the day before our trip.

So he says next trip he'll get a scan early in advance.

Thanks for the update Roxanne - hope you and your family had a great Christmas!

That stinks that the bus driver was so rude - maybe he was just having a really bad day already.

I hope all of you had a great holiday season too.

I love how our shirts came out. So many people wanted to know where to buy them. ;)

I did use that Santa picture for our cards this year.

The picture of the castle with the carriage, no one else got it but I had to get that shot. You know my imagination.....

Tammy, I have been meaning to ak about your dad...how is he?

I am so glad I didn't listen to you about the insurance too.

We were at the same place at the same time & I didn't see you? Oh man. And you are right, the people were not bad. Did you really see me & run the opposite direction??;)

great update and pics.
Thanks

Hope for another update soon, I miss you.
It was a smooth day - one of the best actually. We got naps. Everyone. All of us. That nevers happens.

I was so proud of my shirts, girl.

I miss you guys too. I'll tell you all about the long haul soon. I will update again, I promise.

Oh gosh, that long drive in pain. That deffinitely would have been bad. Real bad.

Steve's situation did get better eventually.

Hi Roxanne! Glad to see you back here. I was thinking about you yesterday.

Looking forward to more of your report! :)

Yeah Roxanne is back! Looking forward to the next installment!
How did the burning of the photopass go?

Hi Roxanne! Glad to see you back here. I was thinking about you yesterday.

Looking forward to more of your report! :)

Oh, glad to see you haven't left me. It's coming. I'm on my laptop now but I have everything typed on the PC.

Yeah Roxanne is back! Looking forward to the next installment!
How did the burning of the photopass go?
Photopasses came out great. I got them burned but I haven't made it to the post office yet. Matt has been very sick. Poor baby had RSV, an asthma flare up & 2 ear infections that haven't gone away for over 2 weeks. I've been having to bring him to the doctor once a week for the past three weeks, then 4 days this week for shots to help clear it up & tomorrow we go to an ENT to discuss the possibility of tubes.

I know you'll love your pictures but you can hate on me for not getting it right out to you. I won't get offended.

I've been reading you report, just haven't commented on it yet. We were considering a cruise one too & yours made me want to even more but when I checked out the price - it may be too steep since we want to do WDW in October too.

I would never hate on you. I didn't ask cause I was checking to see if you sent them (I'm patient) I was just asking cause I was wondering if it was a pain in the neck for ya??
I hope Matt feels better soon! It's not fun to have a sick baby:hug:

Thanks for reading the report, I hope you guys do one soon. I think we are blowing off Disney in October to do another this September. I love my Disney, but I love my Disney cruise better!

 It was quite easy since everyone loaded their pictures as I asked.

October is up in the air for us too. I'd love to experience Halloween but I love Christmas season.
