My best friend and I are taking a girls trip to the WORLD in December for my 40th birthday. We are leaving the husbands and children at home and staying for 5 nights.
We are doing the Christmas party, deluxe dining, and the candlelight processional. We are excited about having this time to ourselves!

My friend is getting ready to have major back surgery (the dr. assured her she would be fine to go - she will use a scooter as usual) and will be out of commission for about 8 weeks. We are going to do some Disney nights and plan for our trip.

I want to send her small things in the mail during her recovery time. Things that are easy, mickey stickers, etc. Does anyone have any ideas of what to send her? Maps would be great but I don't have any current ones.

Any ideas would be appreciated!!

Thanks,
Kristi

Oh I have a ton of ideas for you as I did this for a friend going thru cancer treatment...are you local to disney? You can pm me and I will give you some great ideas for when you are here...

You could go to Michael's and usully in their dollar area they hav some Disney items (notbooks, pencils, stickers). For maps you could order the mps online from the Walt Disney World Site, they are the customized by you. Also you cna pick up a travel book about Disney, ( i loved Mousejunkies! More Tips, Tales and Tricks... by Bill Burke - so funny!) Also, you can get any travel book about Disney (yes we have all been there but I find sometimes that it's nice to see what others say). That isall I can think of now. :)

Hope all goes well with your friend.

While you're at the parks you could pick up a BFF pin to mail to her later. I bought one for my BF and myself when we went last year. It's got Minnie and Daisy on it with the letters BFF. It should be fairly easy to mail in a padded envelope.

Oops. after re-reading I see her surgery is before the trip. You could order the pin on E-Bay. Hope everything goes well for her!

I'll give you some ideas here but I have a few secrets as well ...
Mickey socks w/ a grippy bottom for her hospital stay...you know the hospital is cold and she won't want to loose footing after her surgery:scared1:
You might be able to go to disney gifts and get some disney spa lotion, dry hair shampoo etc
A fun Mickey character toothbrush & paste I think you can find these at Target
I don't know how much you want to spend but you can always do some PJ's(disney of course) since she will probably be recouping for awhile and she can take these on her trip as well
Chapped lip stuff, nail file
Go to home depot and get a few Mickey color chips and make your own supersize pixie dust, maybe even write encouraging notes on them
A tiara and septer if she is a princess (you can probably find these fairly cheap in the halloween stores now) or an Eye patch and bandana if she is more the pirate wench type
If you have a local Disney store you can ask a CM if they have any ideas as well sometimes they have special secrets behind the counter for just such ocassions
Again if you are local to the parks I have a few more ideas for you...pm me and if I can help out at all let me know...everyone needs a lil pick me up every so often and you are a great friend for thinking of her this way!
Good luck to her and I hope you all have a great trip! :grouphug:
