It is with head bowed in shame that I start this month's challenge. I totally FAILED last month!! Getting online has been nearly impossible, except to score. Between the house sewage flood(twice), moving in and out of hotels nearly daily with our stuff in WalMart bags, a scoring job that lasted longer than was planned (although it was a blessing), and Mia(the yorkie) needing emergency surgery, my life kind of disappeared.

I am back.....almost! Furniture gets moved back in on Friday(or so they say). Mia comes home from vet today, DS21 and DD18 have 2 weeks left in the semester. I have walked Sashi 6x since 10/11 when the first sewage flood happened - she & I are both going NUTS! And, I threw the bodybugg in a drawer (since I discovered the cords were in one of the 20' storage containers out front and I was only burning like 1500 cal/day sitting scoring). Went back to WW yesterday - gained about 7 lbs since 10/1.

But, today is a new day! End of the month I have surgery on my leg veins - Left leg just the injections & laser, right leg cutting one out + the injections and laser. I really want it done, but am not looking forward to it.

So, here we go......let's get moving!

As usual commit to as few or as many minutes of exercise as you wish to challenge yourself to do. Please post here something like "I'm at 21/400" or just 310/1000. That way I don't have to search to add up all your numbers.

10% - Getting Started!
25% - On your way!
50% - Half-way there!
75% - You CAN do it!
90% - Just a little bit more!
100% - You DID it!
Over the top!

bgenew1 - 030/500
fall08CP - 625/1000
goldcupmom - 2562/2500
MickeyMagic - 0/1000
mikamah - 440/1000
NancyIL - 1000/1000
perfectmatch300 - 1490/1500
princessbride6205 - 35/900
robmck3898 - 110/1200
Rose&Mike - 1404/1400

I am in for 1400 this month.:goodvibes

Julie--hope December goes better for you! Don't hang your head in shame. You had a CRAZY month. Hang in there.

Julie - that is crazy! I hope December is much better for you. You deserve it. :)

I need to get back to exercising regularly. Between working overtime and injuries, I feel like a lump. I really miss running, but I think I need to crawl or walk before I can run.

12/1 - 20 walk, 15 other = 35/900

I'm back!

I'm far from fully recovered from my hip surgery, but it has been 5 weeks now so I'm actually able to do some things that really feel like exercise! My PT exercises are really feeling like a workout these days. Feels good!

My goal for Dec will be a relatively small one for me. I am going to go for 1000 min. We'll see how that goes.

So far I am at 60/1000 min.
30 min PT exercises
30 min walking.

Julie, hope you have a better month this month! Sounds like anything that could possibly go wrong for you did last month. All I can say is "Hang in there, this too shall pass"

I tried this once before but had trouble remembering to track my progress. I'm gonna try it again since I just got a Garmin and it'll be easier to follow. I really don't have an idea of how many minutes to put... so I'll put 1000? That sounds good, but let's see where I get :lmao:

Dec 1- 60 mins - walk
Dec 2- 128 mins (weekly long run!)

so 188/1000

I'm going out of town next week so it may trip things up a bit, but I'll do my best!

I'm new to the boards, so this seems like a good place to start. I'm just starting working out as I've been seriously lazy for a long time. I will start with a goal of 1200 minutes this month.

Count me in for December for 1000 minutes. Hope December goes much better for you! Thanks for finding time to keep this going.

I am going to aim low and hopefully do better. Going with 500 min. The plan is at least 20 min at lunch and at least on hour on the weekends.

And if anyone has some suggestions for me I would love to hear them. I have taken the C25K at our church twice. My issue is exercise induced asthma and I have seen the doctor for this. It just seems that the program goes to quickly for me to keep up. I have made it up to running 5 min at a time. I have done a 5k every month since Oct 2009 and just completed the Space Coast Half Marathon (I walked the entire time and was not as prepared as I thought I was, and though I said never again, a week later it has changed to who knows).

Anyway my 5K times are around 45 min and I would love to loose some minutes down to 35ish. Should I start C25K over or start from the middle and try adding extra weeks?

Thanks for the thread!!

397/1400 Thanks Julie!:goodvibes

Have you looked at run/walk intervals? I know that is kind of how c25k starts, but with run/walk intervals that's what you keep doing for the whole run. And a lot of times the intervals are shorter than 5 minute runs. Google jeff galloway or go to the rundisney website where they have info about him. Is the asthma only when it's cold or all the time? Is it being treated with meds? I cough/wheeze when the air is cold and dry but only after the run. If I wear something over my mouth and nose I do much better. Does your dr think it should be controllable during exercise? My son has asthma and ran cross country and played soccer in high school, but when he stops exercising for a while, it takes him a little while to ramp back up. Hang in there!:goodvibes

It is year round and is being treated with meds. I use an inhaler before I start exercising. I will check out the jeff galloway and see if that is a better option. I am not giving up, I may be slow but I do enjoy it. Finishing is better than never starting.

Off to update while I can.

While my house is all intact, but still have to unpack loads of boxes, I have a new challenge. I went to vein Dr. in March, had vein surgery scheduled for Aug. July they called & the Dr. decided to go diving in Australia when my appt. was. Rescheduled for 12/27-28. Called Friday and he is going diving again and my appt. is now THIS thurs/fri. :scared1: It is in offfice both days, L leg first - laser & injection, then Fri R leg for laser, injection and removing some veins. Fun, Fun, Fun. This will seriously limit my unpacking! I have to walk 1 mi/day, but not sure if I can do more. Oh well......

Welcome, all! I can't believe how this month is flying by!

I"m a little late to the party, but I'm in for 1000 min this month. I'm at 440/1000 so far, and I will make my goal this month. No excuses.

Hope you're feeling well, Julie and friday's surgery went well.

Keep up the great work everyone!!

I just returned from vacation today, and I NEED to have an exercise goal for the rest of this month! I am in for 1000 minutes.
