December Exercise Challenge! HoHoHo! No Santa wannabes here! Keep moving!

I'm back in after taking last month off due to our two week Disney trip and cruise. Please put me down for 1200.


So far I have:
12/1-30 minutes on treadmill for 2.5 miles
12/2-75 minutes on treadmill for 6.15 miles

Forgot to post this morning's workout:
elliptical - 25 mins
strength & core workout with Killer Kyle - 45 mins

I'm probably not going to update until tomorrow. I am pooped!

After the barre class yesterday (which caused me all kinds of pain today) I did intervals on the tm for 23 minutes and a 50 min strength class today.

I. AM. DYING. :)

Ok, just ridiculously sore.

I got my planks in, but waited until the end of the strength class (big mistake) and my right arm was just done. So the right side was a full plank but on my fore arm instead of a straight arm. Every time I tried a straight arm I collapsed. Couldn't even do a couple of seconds.

So, note to self: Planks BEFORE strength class. duh.

Interestingly, some of you know I have been having a lot of trouble with my back this year (even went to physical therapy). Anyhow, started doing wall push ups. Which seems so whimpy. But I am getting so much more out of them. Again, lots of pain. ;) But good pain. I can concentrate on really focusing on chest/arms and not worry about my back. I am hoping to eventually go back to 'real' pushups, but this works for now.

Glad to see so many folks joining us. I will definitely update tomorrow. :goodvibes

How was your barre class? I really want to try one someday bc it reminds me so much of my dancing days but I'm so much bigger than any ballerina should be that I'm self conscious!

I do wall push-ups. Or I did for a long time when my knee and leg were just too weak and injured for me to do them any other way. So good for you on doing what works for you!

I really liked it. For some reason every class now has planks as well, so some of the stuff I couldn't do for very long. I am very careful with my back. But I think it is going to help my running. Some of the stuff you do until your legs are shaking.:scared1: It is crazy.

But when talking to Mike I realized that when I was at my very fastest, I was doing a lot of strength work. And seeing some of my friends on fb and what they do for other workouts, I realized that I really need to just learn to work around my back. I learned from pt what to watch for and I am very, very careful.

It was a very diverse class, and I did not feel out of place at all. (I was pretty nervous before hand).

So anyhow, I say--go for it!:goodvibes

So today I cleaned - a LOT and only worked out for a few minutes. I actually almost didn't add my minutes for today. But 15 minutes is 15 minutes, you know?

Got 2 walks in this morning and I've done my planks. My long term sub job ended (a week before it was supposed to!) so it was nice to get a long second walk. Still will have to go out later for a short one with the pooch, but first gotta take a car battery in to see if it's dead or alive!

Ok! I'm in. I've been away FAR too long. I have 800 minutes of training runs planned this month which I'm fairly motivated not to skip. So to make up for the cookies and the baileys and also try to finally lose a few pounds before my spring Disney races.... I'm going to go with:

25 minutes and 2.3 miles on the treadmill tonight. I'm doing the runner's world challenge where you run at least one mile every day from thanksgiving until new year's (I got started a day late though). I even printed myself a calendar to put sparkly stickers on

30 mins crunches, pushups, squats, planks, medicine ball toss, and stretching.

I added 81 min of walking yesterday, 20 min walking today, 20 min elliptical, and 55 min yoga class. Still don't like yoga ;) but I do feel so good afterwards. :)

I saw that, and I contemplated. But I am sticking with my mile a day--but sometimes I walk, sometimes I run, sometimes I do a combo walk/run. I have gone at least a mile every day this year. :) Was worried if I tried to run every day through the end of the year I would just end up (more) injured. Good luck to you!

Trying to catch up! So far I'm adding 62 minutes walking, 30 minutes treadmill, 10 minutes rowing machine, and 10 minutes arc trainer.

Total=112/900


Rose~I thought of you today while I was at the gym. I know you mentioned trying the rowing machine. I tried the arc machine today and really liked it. I don't know if you have one available to you, but it was a great workout and a cross of elliptical and stepper. I wonder if that would be easy on your back?
