We are thinking about booking a 7-day cruise. The one we have chosen leaves Dec. 28th and returns Jan. 4th, its the western leg of the trip. We have never cruised before and are very excited about doing so. We watched a special on Disney cruises a few weeks ago and that is what sold us. I am just a bit concerned about the time of year we are going. We were going to stay at Disney for a few days before the cruise departs but now people are telling us how busy Disney is and that its not worth it.

I would love some opionions.

Thanks:earsboy:

That Dec. 28th cruise is on of the most expensive!!! For us to book that cruise (4 of us) it's 8100.00 for a cat. 6. The same cruise Dec. 4 is 4900.00. If you are first time cruisers and Eastern or Western doesn't matter we booked the sailing the Sat. after Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving and Friday at WDW the the next 7 on the ship. WDW was busy but or wait in line for some of the better rides was no more than 45 mins. Christmas time is the buisiest time. Thus the reason for the pricing.

I love it at that time. Lampskies is right if you switch to the 12/4 you will save a bunch of money.. plus you will be on our cruise :)
I have been to WDW at Easter and didn't think it was too bad.. everyone warned me that it would be packed.. heck when your at Disney I don't think you notice the wait everything is so special you just don't care.. or I didn't at least.

I agree with AnnMorin...also, if you book in early Dec you not only benefit from much lower pricing, but the ship is decorated beautifully for the holidays;)

LAMPSKIES....

YOU ARE GOING WITH US ON THE 4TH.......???????

So, glad you changed your mind..............

The first 2 weeks in December are my favorite time for Disney. THe parks, ships, etc. are all in full dress for the holidays, but the crowds aren't there......lowest prices of the year, and beautiful!

Doing the same trip at Christmas week basically doubles the price!

We had our 1st Dec. trip in '03. Now I am completely hooked! So, it was VERY cold at the parks, but it was wonderful! I had hoped to do the same this year, with a cruise & park visit, but it's looking like we will be doing the parks in Dec. and doing the 7 day Western in April '05. (there goes my Hawaii trip... )

It is a beautiful time to visit Disney, but don't count on warm weather. It was really too cold to even swim at Castaway Cay!

We also took our first disney cruise the first week of Dec. and loved the way the boat was decorated, and it was crowed at all, even though it was booked solid!! The weather was a little cool in florida and the keys but everywhere else was beautiful!!!! I would definately go again, but I would like to try closer to April next time. I like it HOT! HOT! HOT!

Looks like it NAT&MAGSMOM......I switched my deposit.......now we need to see if DD's still are bringing a friend.
Disneyfan551......it was a high of 22 degrees here today.....60 is a heat wave in December for us!!!! this also will be our third year in a row cruising between Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is something about that Christmas Carribean music that gets me in the spirit!!
