My DMIL is taking the entire fam (9) to WDW in Dec. I am wondering when the Christmas crowds start- my kids go to school year round and their Christmas break starts Dec 15th - if we went the 13th- the 20th are the crowds still going to be on the lower end or wiil they begin to pick up?
THANKS :santa:

They can start building up about the 15th... but they can JUMP up Christmas week thru New Years.

In my experience the parks seem to get more crowded the further into December you go, becoming packed by Christmas week.

Enjoy.

We have been twice at that time. We did use Tour Guide Mike, but found the crowds to be very manageable. No problems when we stuck with TGM's advice about which park to go to. We noticed a pick up in crowds on Christmas Day. The traffic was awful. We went to the beach, and found driving back to Disney was a nightmare. Now we try to be out of Disney by the 25th when we go at this time.

We made the mistake of doing this 2 years ago. It was relatively busy when we arrived, but by the 17th it was packed! We won't go anymore after the 15th. It may not be as busy as Christmas and New Years' but it's certainly not "low end" crowds.

Packed on the 17th? I didn't notice that for either trips. Packed to me is the 25th. Wall to wall, a sea of people. Now that's packed. I guess it depends on what your version of packed or busy is. For us we loved the time of year. Seeing the difference between that time, summer and Dec 25th, we would choose the week before the 25th. Use TGM and you will have no problems. We never waited in lines for more than 10 to 20 minutes.

Last year I went for a short visit from Dec 20 to the 23rd. The first 2 days weren't bad, but by the 23rd it was really getting crazy.

This year we're trying from the 16th to the 19th
