December code watch?

I got a ding fare this morning with Southwest for our September trip...so I now have $56 credit to go towards our December trip. I guess that means we will HAVE to go in December. Now if Disney will just release a great code for us!

We are going December 8th - 11th crappy length of time, only to be there to support Sis when she gets married. AND count me in as 1 who will NEVER call the hotel ANYTHING but Dixie Landings (in fact had trouble figuring out which one it is now)

We had to cancel our trip last year. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Dec. We are booked at the Dolphin for 12/5 to 12/16. If I can get a good rate at the AKL or WL, we may switch over to there. Come on AP rates.

We're booked at the POP - not sure how my TA did it, but we're paying value season rates the whole trip... Hoping some kind of discount comes out, but since I didn't get one last year, not holding my breath for this year. DH and I just really liked being in the parks during January - it was cool!

Booked A Few Weeks Ago With AAA Code And Am Waiting For An Ap Code. Also Booked Breakfask With Cindy At The Palace AnD Mickeys Backyard Bbq. It Will Be Me,dh,dgs And Dgd...first Time For Our Grandchildren Ages 3 & 6 (call Us Nuts) We Are At Pop From Dec 8, Thru The 16. Cant Wait THIS WILL BE Our 4 Time At Pop....AND MY 56TH VISIT TO THE WORLD.

To me, "Port Orleans-Riverside" sounds like some sort of industrial shipping dock... BLECH. I'm so glad I got plenty of DxL stuff while it was still around! Drinking out of my DxL coffee mug right now.

And now our dates have changed from 11/30-12/4 to 12/7-12/11. And of course, Southwest's schedule currently goes through December 10th...

Clearly, I'm not a very seasoned Disney traveler, so I have to ask dumb questions like this...are the "codes" strictly for AP and AAA people or are there other groups that get "codes"? (I'm also not sure what a "code" is). I have a Disney Visa...do we ever qualify for "codes?"

Sometimes there are general public codes, either room only or a package (there was one last December), that's the one I am waiting for. You can read more about codes on http://www.mousesavers.com/. I don't know if there is anything specific to Disney Visa holders (I have one too), but from what I've seen sometimes Disney Visa holders are offered a code first and then about a week later it is open to the general public.

Here's a question -- if a Dec. code comes out, what are you going to do with the extra money? Upgrade hotel, splurge on an extra something(s) on your trip, put the cash back in your pocket or other?

Can't really decide, myself? We have our trip paid for already and we are staying at CSR -- for the 1st time. The adult in me says pocket the cash, the kid in me says SPEND IT!!!

Booked December 2-9th at the Beach Club with a good AAA rate...hoping for an AP code but if one doesn't appear, I'm not going to complain about my AAA rate or change reservations.

I know AAA rates are very seldom available during this week but I asked when I reserved and was told by the CM that AAA rates were not out past September??? Just made a "last minute" (at least for this time of year) decision to book this last week. So for the first time since finding this site I am booked at rack rate. Will hope for some kind of code.

I don't mean to discourage you but any codes will most likely have a black out for that week. We stayed at POP last year during Christmas week & paid above rack because AAA used an outside vendor that actually holds rooms & charges more for them. We booked it as a pkg & got a really great deal on the airfare so we kept the reservation but we asked both AAA & CRO & they said that it is rare to be offered a discount during Christmas week.
