I have been to WDW twice in December and am planning on going again this December. Both times I went I had to wear a coat at night and most of the time during the day.Can you ever happen upon some mild weather at WDW in December? Thanks. :)

I have been two or three times in December, and the weather has been hit or miss. Pack for all types of weather, and you should be safe!

Well, even if we do get a warm spell in December or January (We had a nice run of 10 days in the upper 70s-80s last January), once the sun goes down it still gets a little chilly. But we do have periods where you definitely won't need a coat. In fact, that warm spell we had last Janurary was definitely shorts and tee-shirts weather during the day.

December is patchy. Jan, Feb, March are the generally quite cold months. Look up the average temps. for Orlando at weather.com.

We were there the weekend before Christmas 2004 for DH's birthday--we had gone during some REALLY COLD weather the previous December, so we brough lots of warm clothes (DH even brought two pairs of long underwear!). The weather turned out to be pleasantly warm during the day (the temp. peaked in the low 70s) but we still needed jackets in the evening (but DH never wore the long underwear! :rotfl: ) It's hard to tell what the weather will be like, so be prepared for anything.

We have been 3 or 4 times in early December. Only one time did we wear jeans in the daytime. One time we went we never wore anything but shorts and a tshirt even at night. Light weight jacket is all we have ever needed at night. Now when we went in January last year, I think I only got shorts out once or twice and wore gloves several nights.
But the temperature is a bit relative. I'm from Michigan so 60 in December seems very warm when you have been having 20-30 degree days.

I've gone at the beginning of December the past 7 years and it really can vary. One year it never got out of the 60's for highs. Last year it was in the low 80's almost the whole time. A couple of years ago I took a light winter coat and gloves for evenings, last year only a jacket was needed. 60's during the day isn't bad but it does get cold at night.

we only go in december and for the most part, we wear coats and sweats, there are few nice days where a jacket is not needed but there could be, but i would rather be a little cold then go during the hot summer months.

In December of 1999 it was rather warm that first week of December. We actually wore shorts all week - the only colder day was the day we flew back to Missouri. The temps were in the low 80's all week and it would have been warm enough to even swim.

Now January was another story - it was cold!

I'm going in December too, but being British I imagine I'll find most of it to be pleasantly warm in relation to what I'll be leaving behind!

Definitely bringing some jeans though.

My first time going in dec was back in 94. I had prepared for cold weather and only brought one pair of shorts just in case. Needless to say those shorts stood in the corner by themselves by the end of the trip!!
Since then we go every year about the first full week dec and prepare for warm weather. We did go the week before christmas and it was cold. As your trip gets closer, I would just go to weatherchannel.com and pull up the forcast. That way you do have some judgement of what to expect in the weather. When exactly are you going? We are heading down Dec 3- Dec 10.

We went Dec 1-12 in 1998. Never fell below 80 all week. It was gorgeous. The night dipped only into the 60's which felt warm to us being from the northeast. We landed back in Philly to 42 degrees. But I heard once we were home, that a cold front came through Orlando and the temps dropped to the 60's during the day and into the 40's at night. So we left just in time ! It can be changeable during the Dec-Mar time period.

First part of Decemeber each year since 1992.Going this year Decemeber 4th-12th.In our experience we have experienced everything from hot to very cold.So we always pack clothes we can layer to meet the varied temps. We find all the holiday shows and decorations and low crowds that we don't let the weather bother us.Looking forward to MVMCP and Candlelight Processional,Osborne Lights this year. :goodvibes :goodvibes ::yes:: :shamrock: :wizard:

The WX in December is variable at best. We've got pictures from the same year where we were wearing shorts & t-shirts on Friday and all the winter clothes we had brought on Sunday.

The best thing to do is to dress in layers. Bring along t-shirts, a sweater/sweatshirt and light-weight windbreaker jacket. Some combination, or all of them, will do you for just about anything during your stay.

One year we spent the week in shorts. The very next year we had to buy hats and mittens. We now go in early November. You just never know in December...

We've been there twice in December, and had everything from low 40's at night to mid 80's during the day. Check www.weather.com or www.intellicast.com, a few days before leaving to get a better idea, then pack accordingly, but be sure and include a heavy jacket, light jacket or sweater, and shorts and tee shirts. Chances are that you will need all the above in a week's time in Central FL.

Several of our MVMCP photos are together on a shelf. In the 2001 photo, we are wearing short sleeves and shorts. In the 2002 photo, it looks like we are on a trip to Antarctica. 2003 has us in light jackets, and last year we are dressed for a blizzard again.

So, needless to say, it varies.

We went last year and didn't find it very cold at all. It was a little chilly on the night that we went to MVMCP.

Of course in December in Southern Ontario it can be VERY cold so almost anything is better than that. :confused3

I haven't decided on a date yet.The other two times I went in December I was able to get Annual Passholder rates for my stay.I am waiting to see if they will be available this year. :)

We went last Dec and we didn't find it cold at all!

I guess when you're coming from the 10s-30s here in OH, even the 50s seems warm!!

We wore shorts / tank tops everyday. We did pack sweatshirts and jeans. The kids did wear their sweatshirts one night (MVMVCP where we were there till midnight), but dh and I never did.
