Hi there!!

Is there anyone who will be sailing on these dates? It's going to be DH and I. Neither of us has ever cruised before, so we're a bit anxious but also very excited! Can't wait to meet fellow sailors!

Wow...i'm hoping I won't be there on my own....

ohwell, more Mickey Bars for me and less scrambling for a chaise longue at CC!

Seriously, anybody crusing on that date?

Best,

/Melia:wizard:

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Hi Melia,

We will join you! We booked this cruise yesterday and I couldn't be more excited. My DH and I will spend some days at Pop Century and then end the vacation with the cruise. It is also our first cruise so I have been busy reading all the wonderful advice from the great folks at the Dis. :)

Hi Cheryl!!! Same for me!! It's out first cruise ever....so DH and I are pretty excited as you can imagine...and just like you, we'll be staying at WDW for a few days before we get to Port Canaveral. This board is an incredible fountain of information...I recently bought a guide book about DCL. Apart from one tip (try not to use midship elevators during dinner time as it can be very busy), there is nothing I had not already read about in this Forum. I love our DIsers friends!! :hippie:

As of now, we don't plan getting off ship in Nassau. Mind you, we've already been there...and since we have no day at sea (on a 3 day cruise), I'll try to take advantage of all of the amenities the ship affords.. (e.g. the Rain Forest, some bubbly in the hot tub by the Adult Pool, etc etc.).

I was toying with trying Palo...but I think i'll postpone this experience for my next cruise, as I want to try the rotation dinner.

If you guys don't mind, we may be able to get our reservation linked for dinner, so they can set us at the same table for the trip. Based on what I could read here, DCL does a very good job at "pairing" people together (e.g. people traveling with no children get together etc etc).

This is going to be a wonderful adventure!!

Best ,

Melia,

We haven't decided on Nassau yet and the reviews look mixed on the Disboards. I'm excited for the shows, lounges,on-board activities and just being pampered by the mouse.:goodvibes

Pairing up for dinner sounds fun! If you don't mind dining with a young-at-heart married couple, that is! We're celebrating 30 years this May. Are you signed up for the first or second seating? We were set up with second seating but then changed so we wouldn't get out too late to miss activities.

Actually, I take that back. The more Trip reports I read, I'm thinking the late dinner looks good.
Good thing there are a few months to get this right!

Hello everyone,

This will be my Family's 1st Disney cruise & I am so excited. Still haven't decided whether we should go to WDW before or after our cruise. What should we do?

Welcome!
We've enjoyed every single visit to WDW but I must admit to never feeling like I've had a restful vacation once we return home. That is why I wanted to cruise at the end of our vacation. Can't wait!

 Hello.......anyone else joining us on this cruise? The temp is 74 here and feels more like early summer but this Holiday cruise isn't far from my thoughts!

Looking forward to hearing from more of my ship mates on the DIS! :earsboy:

I guess it's way too early to start talking about the cruise but for me I can't wait till December. I love WDW during Christmas time. This will be the third year in a row going during Christmas time & first cruise. Can't wait.:yay::rotfl::cheer2:

Oh how fun! What a wonderful tradition. Our family trip in 2000 was the week after Thanksgiving and on the last day we were able to see the decorations and take in the candlelight concert. This year it will just be the two of us and we plan to take our time to visit some resorts, and hear the EPCOT stories, etc.

We received our cruise DVD two weeks ago. Love it! The diagrams of the ship were helpful to get a good sense of where everything located. Nice keepsake too.

This is cruise 1 for our B2B December adventure, following this with Podcast cruise 2.0. We are interested in meeting and Fish Extender gift exchange if anyone else is interested.

BTW this is cruise 9 for me so I can try to answer any questions you might have.

It's never too early to plan. December seems like a year away.

See you in December

We live in Arizona & this will be our first Disney cruise. I have been so excited ever since we first booked it. December does seem pretty far away. This is a dumb question but how does Fish Extenders work? I have read a little bit about it in the forums but have been afraid to ask any questions since I didn't want to sound stupid.

Hi Lucy! A quick question for you....how long after your reservation did you get your DCL-DVD? I have booked I think in early Feb, yet haven't received any such DVD....

I'm so very excited! Every day I look at my little countdown...185 days to go...Yay!!!

Best,

Melia

Hi Cheryl! (I finally caught up with all of the posts! hehe)

We're on the second seating too...it was assigned automatically (perhaps b/c we're not travelling with small children). While I'm usually not eating that late, I don't mind doing that for a few days. I like the idea of seeing the shows first, so no rushing through dinner... Bad for heartburns...

Btw, we bought our plane tix ORD-MCO a few weeks ago...can you believe that the flight was already half full! Looks like many people may have had the same idea...Ohwell, the more the merrier!! :grouphug:

A fish extender is hung from the Fish clip next to your door. We share rooms numbers and ages of children so that appropriate gifts can be given. Gifts are delived when you are not watching like a secret santa. It is lots of fun to come back to the room and have a "surpise" waiting. If you search Fish Extender on the boards or on ebay you can find pictures.

Gifts can be small tokens from your home state or city or what ever you want to give. I usually do one for each person in the cabin expecially during the holidays. We did gift bags last December with tote bags, coloring books, plush animals, snacks etc. Don't feel like you have to spend alot we have gotten candy that the men fought over.

Thanks for the reply and help. I've actually read up on the FE through the boards & think it's a really cool idea. I checking out Ebay & will probably get my FE made for me as I'm not crafty at all! Is it Dec 9th yet.

Myself, my husband, and our children 10, and 7 are very excited to go to Disney and then join this cruise:cheer2:!!!!!
We want to do the 'Fish Extender" and want to find another family who wants to do it with us, where do we find info/get connected????? :grouphug:
