We will need input from everyone on where, when and if, we schedule a meet time for our DIS group. I need input from our repeat cruisers to the best locations to have a meet? I will keep updating this first post to include new information as the time gets closer!

About me:
I am a Disney Parks veteran, but this will be my first Disney Cruise. Family of 3 cruising on the Dream on December 9th 2012 to celebrate our anniversary on 12/12/12. Looking for great tips, advice and fellow vacationers. If you want to be part of our FE group see the information below. Participation in the FE is not required to be part of our meet. Just another way to have fun. and thanks to PrLisette for her great FE tread. Borrowed most of the verbiage from her.

Our Meet and Greet:
We will meet at 3pm at club 687 on departure day. This is close to were the DVC typically meets at 2:30pm. Hopefully those who are members can still meet up with us at club 687.


Our FE information
Fellow December 9th, 2012 Disney Dream cruisers, let's get this FE ball rolling! Who wants to join the fun? This is the official FE sign up thread. If you are interested in joining, reply to this thread and I will put you on the list. Also, please subscribe so you won't miss out on any updates. When it gets closer to time, I will send out a complete list with final instructions. Feel free to add any input as this is OUR FE exchange, and we can do it HOWEVER we want! If you have sent me a PM, I have you down!

**I will need the first names of everyone in the room, the ages and genders of the kids, your stateroom number, and you can PM me your personal email address so that I will be able to send you the spreadsheet with all the participants' information. If you are new to the boards and cannot send a PM, let me know and I will PM you my personal email address so that you can email me the information. If you have reserved GTY and do not know your stateroom number, go ahead and send me the rest of the information, and I will update your stateroom number once you have it. Thanks!** I will only add your screen name and number of participants. All the personal information will only be sent to the group when we close the FE group list in October.

Fish Extender (FE) Gifts -December 9th 2012 Will close 8 WEEKS BEFORE OUR CRUISE DATE THAT WILL BE October 14th 2012 for Group A. Update: We started a Group B for latecomers! Group B cutoff is November 19th!This will allow people to have time to order, make, assemble, personalize, etc their gifts. Thanks for your interest!

Guidelines for our fish extender:
1. Each cabin is to provide AT LEAST one gift to each cabin participating in the fish extender. You can provide a gift to each person within that cabin, just the kids, or one gift for the whole cabin...that is up to you. Of course, you are welcome to give more than one gift...but the minimum is one.
2. All gifts are to be delivered between the cruise leaving port on Sunday, December 9th until 4 PM on Wednesday, December 12th. This gives people time to still be able to pack their bags on the 12th before we leave the ship the morning of December 13th.
3.Please include a tag with your DISboards user name on the gift. This way everyone knows who the gift is from.

Here is a list of IDEAS of what you might want to bring for the FE on the cruise...to add to your packing list if you'd like:
1. The FE gifts that you are making/preparing -- total number will be announced after our sign up deadline.
2. An FE pocket/hanger to hang outside your cabin. You can find them on eBay by searching "Fish Extenders" or you can make one or search on line other places.
3. A zip tie to help attach your FE HANGER. Some people have commented theirs have sadly walked away...but if you attach it with a zip tie...then it is not as likely to walk away.
4. Scissors to cut the zip tie when you're packing...LOL! Don't want to leave it for someone else.
5. On the forum, some people recommend bringing thank you notes so you can write a quick note to the person who gave you a gift.

This will be our 7th cruise,pos 8, if we can convince our 4 year old grandson to go on a 2 day NY cruise this summer.

This will be our first cruise as well, celebrating our 25th anniversary. Our children (DS, 20 & DS 22) will be meeting us at AKL afterwards for four nights but it will be just the two of us on the Dream.

What a coincidence. Our first cruise was our 30th anniv, 12/20, celebration as well. Be prepared to be hooked! This cruise is our 37th anniv, a little early.

I have been reading allot about FE exchanges on the group and it seems like a fun thing to do! Since we will be traveling near the holidays it may be a fun way to be festive. Let me know your thoughts!

If you are interested I can modify our tread to include the FE info or start a new one. I was scared to start one out of fear that if the group was too large I wouldn't be able to participate, but many of the groups have split into smaller sub groups but kept one thread.

This will be our 7th cruise. We love to cruise and this year we are bringing along some first time cruisers with us. There are a total of 6 of us. None of us have kids except the kids in all of us - we are crazy Disney nuts.

Welcome can't wait to join all of you on the cruise. Our meet group started talking about FE's if anyone is interested I altered the first post to contain our basic FE tread guidelines. Let me know if you would like to change any of the rules for our group. Copied another tread because I thought it was well organized and this is new to me. Therefore advice is welcomed.

Our year is going by fast. DD is getting married on the 28th. I can't believe it is almost here. Not sure if that is excitement or a sigh of relief. Of course after the wedding I'm sure time will drag by very slowly.

FE info looks good. I love guidelines!
You can also use a nail clipper to cut the zip tie. Also, if folks are going to be giving food items, you might need to know about allergies.

Ok! We want in! My friend and I can hardly wait to get back on a Disney ship! This will be our 5th Disney cruise, with our last one being October 2011. We did the FE thing for the first time and it was a blast. We'll be meeting up with some friends at WDW after the cruise, so this is like double fun! We'd both love to participate in the FE.
