DECEMBER 8, 2014 Dream Mouse Meet!

Hi all. We will be joining you for our very first cruise on Dec 8th. We are very very excited!!!

My name is Valerie and my husband is Tyson. We have a 5 yr old son, Tate and our daughter will be 4 on the cruise. Her name is Bo.

We have been to Disney World twice and had two amazing trips. We were even chosen as First Family and got to open Magic Kingdom on our very first trip. Just AMAZING!

We will be in cabin 10068. We are looking forward to this awesome experience!

Greetings y'all! Booked our first Disney Cruise this afternoon! We are veteran cruisers but this will be our first on DCL. I'll be asking a lot of questions in the coming months as we prepare for this amazing vacation! Can't wait!

Hi,
We're old farts - will be 62 and 61 by cruise. we dont travel with kids any more. this is as i said our 5th didney cruise but our 9 cruise over all. disney wins hands down, even at the price.
we've been on allthe other disney ships. my DD (30 at the time) was the "star" of the main stage productions for much of the time on the cruise we took through the panama canal for 15 days. it was amazing! and we got to see where the crew dines and lives. tip well folks!
someone asked about must do's - must go with good attitude and see all the shows. go to the nighttime shows to for over 18. they are grown up shows, but come on folks, its still disney. if we get Ricky Kalmon on our boat, see all his shows! try all the food. try all the excursions. castaway is nice. nassau is a dump. it could use our money though. we will probably do another segway tour. we've done them on most of the cruises we've ever taken. and folks, when u look in the dictionary at the word klutz or at the word UNathletic, it tells you to see me! if i can do it, anyone can. Dunno if i'll do FEs again - it was fun, but stressful to find nice stuff that wasnt expensive. people nowadays are just going overboard. on the cruise we took in january someone asked for kids pant sizes. really? i just want a little pen or some candy or a magnet. best gift i saw on last cruise was a credit card magent thing to keep in the light switches or by them (if you havent been on the cruises, ask ).
looking forward to meeting people - let me kow if you are doing segways or whatever. esp if you are towards my age bracket, though met and hung with much hyounger and older people on my Feb cruise.
Sherri

ok sent fb request. i know fb has been more active than disboards but till i get on: since there are no sea days (sad face) will there be palo brunches?

ok there's a sea day. thunk (me hitting head on keyboard). i just saw the list of stops, not the full days. anyone else doing palo?

We just booked our cruise yesterday and we are super excited. I can't wait I am the only one in the family that has been on a cruise before but it has been many years. It will be my husband and I and our 3 boys ages 14, 12, and 10. We will be celebrating our 17th anniversary while we are on board.

Hi, if things work out as planned my Husband and I will be joining you, Time will tell. Our children are grown and have families of there own they will not be joining us. We have sailed the Dream before. We love the ship. but we have never found a Disney ship that we don't like, we usually sail with a great group of friends. But we will be sailing with them on another cruise. This one is just for the two of us. It will be nice to make some new friends on this cruise.

Ahoy, shipmates!

My family and I, together with family friends, will be joining you on the 8th of Dec and can't wait! We are all first time cruisers.

I have also sent a request to join the fb group and I am interested in joining the FE.

Thanks!

Michelle

We are all booked and ready to go. Wife and I have been on many cruises (no disney yet) but this will be the first for our daughter who will be turning 3 a week after the cruise.
We are doing three days @ the Polynesian leading up to the cruise. Was able to book all our dining and stuff this morning at 6 am. I was excited until I woke up a little more and realized that 180 is actually 6 months. Still too far away. Ugh. We did get Cinderellas Royal table for our first morning at the park.

I am a little confused to the Fish Extenders thing. I tried looking it up but cant find a simple explanation as to how it works. Can someone send me a link to a simple description or even provide one? From what I gathered, you put these things up and get little gifts and what not. My question is who gives who what and how do you know what to give, where to give, how much to give etc.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard!

This link here provides great information on Fish Extenders.

As for who gives and receives...everyone gives to each other in your group. It's up to you how much you want to give and when. I typically deliver later in a cruise (when gifts are dying down) unless I have something cruise specific for a particular day/port. Also, I just give once (although there are folks who do something more often), and typically a small thing to each person (although I have done it in the past where I gave each child an individual gift and the parents a gift together if the gift was one that fit).

HTH!

I guess the simplest explanation is that it is a gift exchange but you have to sign up with a group to be sure you receive as well as give gifts. There is a FE list on the Facebook group for this cruise - just search for Disney Dream from Port Canaveral 12/8/2014 and ask to join the group. Then in the pinned post you can add your name to the FE group and learn with whom you will be exchanging gifts. Each group will have approximately 15 cabins, the FE admin has already started a second group. You can also bring extra "pixie dust" gifts to add to other FEs or give to CMs etc. Then there are other Facebook groups with FE ideas that will make your head swim.

Six months to go...

I'm not even doing FE and y'all are making my head swim about them. Its nice that they have gotten so detailed but for me that takes the fun out of it -it should be quick and easy and enexpensive so no one stresses. on my last DCL people were stressing about the amount they weigh to ship/bring, whether people would like them, did they have the right sizes for the right rooms (really? making clothes??), was it good enough? FOR ME it was a lot of fun ot order things disney and cruise related, throw in some candy and pass that stuff out. it wasnt expensive, it was easy and fun and for some if it useful. in fact, i still put out the magnets with our names whenever i go on a cruise (DCL or not). but to each their own. it stopped being fun when people started stressing over it. andwondering if it was enough or good enough. its just a little gesture of fun and friendship. not to make the cruise above and beyond. but that is just my take and why i wont participate. but i do like peeking at the stuff in the FE's when i walk by (so can you all have not so deep pockets so i can see? i never ever touch them - just look). :cool1:

Hi :wave2: Everyone! Just switched our Sept cruise to Dec! This will be our first! :goodvibes EVen more excited bc it will be Christmas Decorations!!!! Yay!!!! It will be myself, husband, and 4 boys 7,5,3,1! Can't wait! Who has the FE set up!?

It CAN be quick and easy so no one stresses. It's all about what YOU'D want. Some of us really get into it. That's not to say you do or even have to. Remember, just because what everyone else is doing makes you feel like if you did that much, you'd not have fun, then you're not getting the point. This IS fun to many. It just may not be for you, and that's fine. People do what they want. :cheer2:

I'm getting info from everyone in my F.E. group that has been organized over on Facebook. I'm in the Mickey group. I still need last names from Mayersunited (which I sent a PM for ), SailnDec8, and smalltowngirl504. I ask this way because people don't often see their PMs and I haven't heard from them on FB yet.

5 months to go! :beach:

Welcome aboard! The FE sign up can be found here. (I copied and pasted from my phone initially so if that link does not work, let me know...I may have to wait until I get home to post it properly.) We are already on a second group of 15 staterooms! If you join, you will be in Group Minnie. :goodvibes

Your first cruise overall? How exciting!!!! Cruising is my favorite vacation!

5 months to go! :beach:

5 months cannot get here soon enough!!!

To our artist friend in the. Mickey group,

I'm not able to send a pm through here but our last name is Mayer. Mayers is fine too though!

Thanks!

This will be our 5th Disney cruise. We are booked in 3 staterooms and a bringing 2 grandmas, 1 grandpa, myself (43), my wife (43), DD (23), DD (10), and DS (6). Our 2 DD's are special needs and this will be the oldest's 3 cruise and DD (10)'s first.

We always FE and have so much fun. We are from the Dallas area and vacation with Mickey every December as a family (earlier in the year as well with just DW and myself). Last December it was a 7 day out of Texas - as is next December!

This year we're doing a week in a 3 bedroom at AKL end then joining y'all on the high seas! Can't wait to get to know each of you and your family!

Headed over to join the FB group.
