Hi Everyone! Just joined the group and wanted to say hello! This will be our second cruise but more importantly we will be honeymooning so we are extremely excited! Since we have only done a 3 day cruise I was wondering if someone could make a suggestion on when we should book Palo. I know that we eat in all the restaurants twice and we did not really enjoy the enchanted gardens restaurant so we could really go without going there twice lol any suggestions would be great! thanks!!

:welcome: aboard. I got your email and will add your pic tonight.

Since we don't know what our rotation will be, it's always hard to guess which night is in which restaurant. We really like the brunch and shoot for that but it is only on a sea day. As far as dinner, I would recommend booking later in the week so you don't miss one of the first rotations.

They do hold reservations for booking on the ship, so once you get your rotation at check in, you can try and change to the second EG night as soon as you get on the ship.

I didn't like the EG either, was really disappointed. I didn't hate it, but I guess I was expecting more. Our dining experience on the Dream was far from stellar and we are hoping it will be different on the Fantasy.

:welcome:

Congrats on your Fantastic Honeymoon!!

My name is Denise and traveling with husband Wally. Cruise # 4 for me and #3 for Wally.

I actually prefer brunch at Palo. Now to decided which sea day to book, our first or last sea day....:scratchin decisions..decisions...

This cruise I think we are going to skip formal night. I dont dislike formal night, I just want to cut down on packing and bring extra luggage, so we pretty much have decided to skip it this cruise. But then again we have a "little" time to fully decide on this.

Well finally finished cleaning house today....now going to take a shower and run to the store.

Have a good afternoon.....

Later

Welcome. This will be our 2nd DCL cruise and 3rd in total. We're celebrating an early 16th wedding anniversary when we're onboard.

Ok, you know your getting old when you go grocery shopping, forget an item you need for your dinner, then stop at the little neighborhood store to get that item, and a few other things, then still forget the item you need to make your dinner....:sad2:

Making something else for dinner tonite :thumbsup2

Hope everyone else is having a better weekend!!

We've been visiting in Anaheim for a few days. My daughter and I spent my birthday at the one and only original Magic Kingdom and checking out the Cars Racers at CA Adventure:thumbsup2 Not too crowded either--great day!

Hi Chuck! Thats actually a great idea we will for sure do that. i have been trolling the web for weeks now looking for daily navigators to try to figure out based on where our room is what our rotation would be needless to say I didnt find anything! lol Is anyone visiting wdw before the cruise? We are starting our honeymoon off on Tuesday with a royal room at POR. If anyone will be in the parks we should meet for a snack or lunch before the ship. Im not sure what we are more excited about our wedding or our honeymoon :) Hope everyone is having an awesome night!

I don't think the rotations are based on where your cabin is, it is based on the number in your party, dining time, and ages. It's all about maximizing the seating.

We are hoping to be living in Florida by the cruise next year, but if not we will definitely be there before the cruise. Either way we will be at the port pretty early. We like to people watch and see all the excitement. Plus we could have a pre-cruise M&G.

You can be excited about both....:cheer2:

:welcome: Congrats on you upcoming wedding! How awesome is that!! We will be celebrating our 35th anniversary on board!

I saw you got the answer regarding rotation...I will say that we like Brunch at Palo's the best. I was very excited about Enchanted Garden as well, but disappointed in the execution. However, since we are kidless and older, we tend to be shunted off to the sides of the room a bit and could not see any changes. I so want to sit in one of the booths.

We are staying at WDW prior to the cruise, but don't know where yet as we will be doing DVC and I can't even book that until January, and then I will possibly change that come our 7 month mark to perhaps somewhere different.

We have time to plan a fantastic cruise!!! pixiedust:

Just been lurking. We, Lynn and I, will be on the Fantasy this coming January. Been on the Dream twice. We liked all the restaurants including Palo at night for dinner. The brunch was a little disappointing compared to the Magic and Wonder brunch. But still nice. Like some of you, we have been toying with a visit to WDW prior or after the cruise but have been focusing on a back-to-back on the Fantasy on the December cruise. Have not done the Eastern in a few years. we'll see.

Chris

Hi everyone. We just returned from the 5 night Canadian cruise on the Magic and now its time to focus on this cruise. My name is Jessie and my DH is Chris. We went to the website for the cruise which is great.

Since we just sailed I have two things that I wanted to suggest or mention. When we do our meet on the first day of the cruise, I assume we will do this, it would be great to be able to all go around in a circle and introduce ourselves. It was hard to chat with some people and then not know exactly who they are once we were on the ship.

The other suggestion is about the FE exchange. For this last cruise our cutoff date was about six weeks. Unfortunately we had a ton of people book at the last minute and it was really hard to get all the gifts in order. Maybe our cutoff could be 8 weeks out which would allow us time to order anything we need and still assemble them. Either way it will be a blast and just wanted to share the thought while I was thinking about it.

Can't wait to join you all!!!

We are not participating in the FE, but I know this was a problem on our last cruise too, many people made handmade gifts and didn't have enough. What we could do is set a cutoff date of maybe 8 weeks. I could clear the list on the website and start a new one for those joining late. I'll leave it up to the person who decides to be in charge of the FE.

I'll probably bring name tags for everyone to fill out for the meet n greet. Might be difficult to go around the room and have people introduce themselves unless we find a good place to meet. We still need to decide whether to meet the first day or the morning of the first sea day. Again, I'll let everyone chime in with their thoughts.

I'm Denise and traveling with DH Wally.

Not going to participate in the FE exchange. I am not artistic and dont even try...

On my last few cruises, (on the Magic) we just met at 3pm in the promanade lounge....but since this is my first on the Fantasy, not sure were we can meet up....but maybe one of the lounges would be good. Name tags and or introductions are good...plus Chuck is posting "mug shots" which help alot, this way we have an idea who everyone is before the meet also.

If the first day is to hard to meet up, maybe our first seaday...we can meet in one of the lounges....

I am in great need of this cruise.....I know the time will fly by...but right now it seems to be dragging.

Well goodnight, work tomorrow. Was supposed to be off, but one of the girls is the office is due to have a baby the 1st of October and she is having health issues with the pregnancy, so I said I would come in...to hard to be short staffed on a Monday.

:wave2: nite

Greetings - I had this booked as a dummy cruise as I wasn't sure I was still going to keep it - but I think I will now. This will be my first western, but will be my second on the Fantasy and I can't wait to get back onboard!

I like the idea of the introductions. On our last cruise our FE group met in the little lounge on the Wonder behind Tritons. People just kind of sat there and waited for someone to come up to them, others came in late after everyone had already started to drift away etc. I'm not familiar with the Fantasy so maybe somewhere more 'intimate' would be ideal and you don't have other guests not associated with the group sitting in thinking you're just a random group of people having a drink. I like that lounge that looks like a French boudoir, though. Very cute.

We had a cut-off date for our FE group last time (it was about 6 or 8 weeks) because we were coming over a few weeks earlier before the cruise. I didn't find out until we had gotten on the ship that more people had joined the FE and I felt bad as I didn't have anything for them. I personalised some of my gifts, too. But, I did make it clear when I joined the group that I needed a cut off date as we were coming over before the cruise and most people I think were okay with that.

You don't need to be artistic for the FE, so do reconsider. We had people on our last FE who just gave out heaps of chocolates and lollies and little things like eye patches for pirate night. One of my favourite gifts to receive was the cute little hand sanitisers from Bath and Body Works (I think it's called). I loved them so much I stocked up on heaps more when we eventually got to a store so I could have them for home.

And I like the idea for the name tags. Maybe if we come up with a group name someone could offer up a template and we can print off our own tags at home. I made up lime green Mickey head bag tags last time and printed the name of everyone in our FE on each one as a gift. The ones I made for ourselves I used on our backpacks.

Welcome aboard Frank, I added your picture to the roll call.

slowly, slowly we are getting bigger! I"m so excited for this cruise!!! I have one in 53 days, our first on the Fantasy.

I know on the Dream we had our meet and greet at the little bar right off the Atrium. It really didn't have seats, just a few bar stools at the bar, and we sort of blocked traffic there, but there really wasn't anyplace else. There is the coffee bar on Deck 4 overlooking the atrium that might be useful. The morning of the first sea day we have brunch so it would be hard for us to make a meet that day.
