With the FE, its always happened that when our group set a deadline, others would want to join and nobody was willing to say no. Once, the person on one of our cruises asked about late joiners and what to do, she was really viciously attacked about possibly denying someone the opportunity to join. But you almost have to have a dead line!

One of the reasons I'm not doing FE anymore.

Greetings - I had this booked as a dummy cruise as I wasn't sure I was still going to keep it - but I think I will now. This will be my first western, but will be my second on the Fantasy and I can't wait to get back onboard!

Donald_Quackers...glad to have you with us....so since you have been on the Fantasy any thoughts on where we could meet??? We are all open for suggestions...

You don't need to be artistic for the FE, so do reconsider. We had people on our last FE who just gave out heaps of chocolates and lollies and little things like eye patches for pirate night. One of my favourite gifts to receive was the cute little hand sanitisers from Bath and Body Works (I think it's called). I loved them so much I stocked up on heaps more when we eventually got to a store so I could have them for home.

And I like the idea for the name tags. Maybe if we come up with a group name someone could offer up a template and we can print off our own tags at home. I made up lime green Mickey head bag tags last time and printed the name of everyone in our FE on each one as a gift. The ones I made for ourselves I used on our backpacks.

I did it once and I just ordered stuff from Oriental trading...I know there is still time, well see

I do agree about the name tags, if we can ever come up with a name that would be a great idea...
My only thoughts at this time have to go with we are sailing after thanksgiving and before christmas....turkey leftovers or pre christmas sailing???? Once the thread takes off a little more, something may POP out and we can go with that.

slowly, slowly we are getting bigger! I"m so excited for this cruise!!! I have one in 53 days, our first on the Fantasy.

I know on the Dream we had our meet and greet at the little bar right off the Atrium. It really didn't have seats, just a few bar stools at the bar, and we sort of blocked traffic there, but there really wasn't anyplace else. There is the coffee bar on Deck 4 overlooking the atrium that might be useful. The morning of the first sea day we have brunch so it would be hard for us to make a meet that day.

Forgot about Palo brunch... we hope to be doing brunch too.

My guess is we will probably end up doing the M&G at 3:00 on embarkation day. I was looking at deck plans to scope out a few areas. O'Gill's, the Tube or the D-Lounge on deck 4 look like good places, will have to see if they are open. I will most likely reach out to DCL to ask about a place to meet.

I would be more than happy to bring the name tags and everyone can just write their name on them. I found a few on Oriental Trading that are not that expensive; Let me know what you think:

I like the under the sea name tags!!

Actually my son is a grapic designer.(he got all the artistic talent) I could talk to him and in his spare time, try to get him to come up with a few ideas....

Depending on the size, I would suggest the Vista Cafe on Deck 4, overlooking the atrium. We had a group photo in the atrium on embarkation day - see this:

Also, if anyone on late rotation wants to to share a table, I'd be happy to have my reservation linked for dining so that we can be with people we know. I did this my last cruise and it made a huge difference, especially since I usually cruise alone.

Both name tags are very cute. My choice would be the Under the Sea ones--Angie

Ooooh! Just had a name pop into my head - Caribbean Cavorters. But I think it's a bit of a mouthful, so again, don't mind me.

Frank, my husband and I have late dinner, we can link no problem, plus if anyone else would like to link that would be great.

I like the name also.....I'm like Chuck, having a hard time coming up with something....one of mine was the FANTASTIC SEVEN'S (FANTASY AND THE SAILING ON THE 7TH, I like the Caribbean Cavorters a lot better...

Thanks for the pic Frank. We are at 33 people right now and we are over a year away, betting this group will get pretty big. But not everyone shows up at the M&G. Do you know how many people were in your group?

That's why I might see about using one of the lounges if they are open in the event the group gets really big.

Yes they do, we are going to have the M&G at 3:00 on embarkation Day. I'll probably update the webpage later tonight. I'll add the location once we figure out where.

The Vista Cafe is good if it's a small group. When we were on our b2b on the Dream, the first cruise was the Vista Cafe and the second was the lounge right off the atrium. At the Vista, people didn't stay around because of not a lot of places to sit.

I don't know what it's called, but there is a big lounge back by all the others. It's not 'inside a bar, but there is a bar there. It's pretty good sized and 'open' so maybe that's a possibility?

It's called La Piazza on the Fantasy (District Lounge on the Dream for those who've sailed on her) It's like the Promenade is in that it's not behind doors and it's a large area. What I don't remember is seeing a bartender there off hours.
