DECEMBER 6, 2009 Winter WONDERland sailing!!!

HELLO!!!!

We are on the "verge" of booking our first cruise. Just trying to firgure out the best cabins to get.....there will be 5 adults and 2 children. I need to call on Monday and get the qotes for the category 3 rooms.

I am so excited!!!! :cool1: :cheer2:

I just booked this cruise last night! The 50% off deposit pushed me to stop procrastinating and start making definitive plans. As of right now, we aren't going to be adding on any days at WDW. We just got back from a week in the world, and DH is looking for a break from the parks next year. Our son will turn 7 on the boat, and I'm going to try very hard to keep the trip a birthday surprise. Wish me luck!

Good luck and welcome aboard. As of yet, we're not a very chatty group. Could be because we have 515 days to wait:sad1:

I'm from the northern panhandle of WV.

Well, I called today and upgraded to a category 6. We were originally in a category 11, but I think it will be really nice to have a verandah. :thumbsup2

your right we arent are we??? and Im sure it has to be due to the wait but we will definitely be talking more as we get closer...and welcome everyone :goodvibes

We were in a Cat 6 and will be in a Cat 6 (opposite side) this cruise too. It is very nice to have the veranda. We were on the docking side at Castway Cay. The kids got a kick out of watching the workers dock the ship.

I thought I'd try to get the thread moving a little bit!

Are you flying/driving in the day before or the day of the cruise? If you're arriving the day before, where are you staying?

We're flying down the day before. Right now, we're either going to stay at CBR and hit DTD on Saturday or the Fairfield Marriott near the airport. It all depends on what time we arrive at MCO. If we get there fairly early - CBR. Anytime late afternoon or beyond - Marriott.

Im actually going to do wdw for 9 days prior to the cruise...we will be staying at BWV

Hello, I booked this cruise back in March and we are so excited!

It will be me- 38(almost 40 by then), DH-38(he'll have just turned 40 before this cruise;) ), DD10(12 RIGHT before the cruise(12/1)), and DD8(who will be 10 for the cruise)

Our goal is to do WDW a couple days before with a smallish celebration if DD's birthday, and a day after in MK. We always end our trips at MK, having a Dole Whip/Mickey ice cream bars in front of the castle, while waiting for everyone clear out. It is peaceful, beautiful, and a tradition now!

How will we figure out what parks to go to before since we are only planning a couple days?? I have no idea-it will kill me to miss one, but this trip is about the cruise.

DH and I decided that instead of 40th birthday parties, will go on a cruise. We are 3 months apart and are going right between our birthdays!

I heard this cruise is also going to have a LOT of Mickey fans-Mousefest or something.

We are hoping for a peaceful ride to the Carribean-or at least close by!

Looking forward to "talking" on the boards!

Lori

Welcome aboard, Lori. :thumbsup2

We are planning to fly in Friday night, stay two nights at the MCO Hyatt, and do one day at the park before we cruise. When we get back, we are planning 3 nights at the Poly and 3 more park days. Our 2007 land/sea gave us 7 day park hoppers. We upgraded them to 'no expiration'. So, we still have 4 days to use.

I have no idea where we'll be staying. We first thought it would be in a Hilton hotel(or affiliate like Homewood Suites) on points, BUT DH's job is changing and we are using the rest of his points this year for a weekend trip to Pensacola, Fla. IF he continues to travel, we may have points for it, if not, I am sure we'll be at a value for the short visit.

Any of you inquire about the Atlantis adventure? I need to pay off the trip still-more than halfway though! It seems pricey, but we are not interested in too much else in Bahamas besides hanging out on a beach with a nice drink, playing with then watching our kids.

Lori

you know at first I thought about doing the Atlantis adventure but this trip is already costing me both my legs and arms:lmao: and the only thing I really want to do in Nassau is get some rum cakes but Ive been told that they sell them on the boat:confused3 ...Id rather spend the day swimming or going to the spa..however, I have heard from people that they pay for a one night stay in a nearby hotel and get some sort of package that allows them access to all the activities there...

There are a bunch of scheduled activities throughout the cruise. They also have activities during a land portion of Mousefest right after the cruise. They don't have anything but the dates scheduled for 2009 yet.
