Thanks! Sounds good to me! :cool1:

About half of my previous Disney cruises have been solo, but one is never really alone on a cruise - ha-ha. And hey - I was born and raised in San Diego and am still a Californian at heart. Always especially nice to meet other Californians! :thumbsup2

I lived in SD for a couple of years and went to school there...but I live in Merced which is in the middle of CA, about an hour or so to Yosemite...

I used to occasionally backpack and camp in Yosemite. Now my "other" (part-time) home besides Florida is Idaho.

The only thing about Florida is that I still can't acclimate myself to the heat and humidity! But at least where I live I'm just an hour from WDW and from Port Canaveral. :)

Hello Everyone!

Well, Taswira (Shari) isn't going it alone - I'm tagging along! Ater all, I've got to help my good friend celebrate her birthday in style. :bday:

This will be my second cruise. My first was with Shari when we did the Western Caribbean cruise back in January ...think it was '07?

Smiles,

Holly

Glad to have you along, Holly!

Do you plan to bring "Stumbles" - the little Mickey who likes to party? :mickeyjum

Telling stories about my Pal Mickey already, are ya? Yes, it's true my PM likes to party and even fell down a flight of stairs after a little too much of something...:lmao: I think there are even pictures somewhere... For those who are wondering what I'm talking about, we did a Pal Mickey cruise - was a lot of fun as there were quite a few of them all dressed up for the occasion. I'll probably take him on this cruise but not sure he'll go everywhere with me this time...

I am SO glad Shari went and booked this. My FIRST thought after getting off the Magic on my first cruise was, "I want to do this again!" I'd hoped it would have been sooner but Real Life (RL) got in the way. And when she emailed me and told me she booked this one I just knew it was the right time.

We are going to WDW tomorrow and I have a feeling we'll be talking Cruise all day long!

Two of the PM's enjoying the Spa...

Ha-ha - - Instead of inserting pics here I'll post a link to the cruise pics so anyone who happens to be interested can see how much FUN the mice had! Take a look HERE.

Although I might take my Pal because he inspires photo ops, this one is a PEOPLE cruise! I saw that it will also be the Mousefest sailing, which I didn't realize until after I booked. Does anyone here know more about that or will we need to wait for next year's Mousefest details on their website? I've only attended some of their land activities in the past. Has anyone here done a Mousefest cruise before?

Welcome aboard Shari and Holly!!:yay:

I too am from California, Gilroy to be exact. We will be flying to DW on my birthday (Dec 4). Too bad for me, we just got the email about free admission to DW in 2009 on your birthday.:sad2:

We were on the Mousefest cruise last year. Being our first cruise, we decided not to participate in much. I may try to do more on the next cruise. There were several interesting events. The ones I remember off the top of my head are: 1) Tour of one of the suites (I don't remember which one), 2) walking tour of Nassau, 3) breast cancer walk on Deck 4, 4) door decorating contest (my sister won an award). When we were planning the last cruise, the details for Mousefest didn't show up until a while after the present year's cruise had passed.

Hello, Jason! Thanks for the welcome and YAY - another Sagittarian! :goodvibes

I did manage to find this year's Mousefest cruise events and it's pretty much what you stated. The stateroom tour was the Walt Disney Suite. I've toured it a few times in the past during College of Disney Knowledge DCL Specialist sessions. It's quite impressive!

I'm not sure I'm too interested in the onboard Mousefest activities because the cruise is so short and there is a lot to do, but I AM always interested in meeting other true Disney fans and there should be plenty of them on this cruise!

Thanks! It's amazing the fun that can be had with a little Disney magic! :wizard:

I was the founder (along with a long lost friend) of Pal Mickey's Grown-Up Pals Club, which was a club for adults (mostly without kids) who had Pal Mickey. We started dressing him up in clothes from plush animals and dolls long before Disney came out with outfits for him. Some of us really went to extremes. The club had several hundred members all over the world, but I discontinued it last year. Anyone who wants to see a variety of pics and wants a good laugh can visit Pal Mickey's Mouse Den HERE. For the curious, yes, we might bring our Pals and take them to special activities if they behave! :lmao:

VERY long, personal, complicated story. Let's just say it was a MAJOR personal fall-out with someone that could not be resolved. The stress levels caused me to dump the club for the sake of my sanity.

Okay - I know you're all thinking that anyone who was that much into an interactive mouse CAN'T be sane anyway - LOL - but hey, it's DISNEY!

oh no ...your telling that to the wrong person...im all about the mouse:rotfl:

Well, Shari and I lunched with the Mouse today (and Pluto and Chip N Dale!)

I can't believe that they are ending the lunch at Garden Grill. But we had a wonderful time and got to chat about the cruise and stuff.

That's always a fun part - the planning and anticipation.

Smiles,

Holly

you guys are so lucky that you are close to wdw and can go whenever...can I say JEALOUS!!

Even though we both live somewhat close - Real Life often interferes, and with gas prices having risen so high, we both are going far less than we used to go. But yeah it's true - at least we don't have to plan air flights, etc.

Smiles,

Holly
