December 4,2004 !!!

A birthday party at the lifeboat drill! What a great distraction! Last time my daughter Katie howled for 30 minutes until the CM told her the Captain would have to remove her from the ship if she didn't straighten up! (Quite nicely, I might add - not to start a riot on inappropriate comments from CM's here!) A birthday just might do the trick!

I'm so excited to meet many of you - I lurked all through pregnancy and maternity leave, with a few posts here and there - and feel like a total peeping Tom knowing all of these things about people without any quid pro quo!

We're doing 6 nights at WDW apres cruise - it will be our first time at BCV after buying in there. Last time we did SOG - former Marines here. Rae, I saw you're staying there - military background?

Lisa - We're in Alexandria and were starting to get clear roads until about 4 o'clock today - then the rain started and the temp dropped. By the time I got home with the kids there was 1/2 inch of ice on the road and I couldn't get up the hill in my car, even in snow mode! (My hubbie, who works in Stafford, told me to walk up the hill in my loafers, carrying the 9-month old!) Neighbors came to the rescue, but I was vindicated in that the car still sits at the bottom of the hill despite three of the men on our street trying their best! Tomorrow morning is going to be a disaster - hopefully we'll be better by Thursday. The good news is that the interstates are OK - just not anything else!

Hmmm...I am assuming that you can't post what you told your DH when he suggested how to handle the hill situation? ;) That is terrible that you couldn't get back home with the car!!! We are really lucky here in New Bern. We are the only ones on the coast without snow & ALOT of ice.

only a two hour delay for school instead of a snow day.. go figure it is still snowing right now, bad call in my opinion.. it is messing up my hair appt. too, I was suppossed to go for 9:30 but now the bus won't come until 10:20, hopefully she can fit me in.......

Welcome flexmom! Glad to have you joining us!!

Lampie - what type of auto dealership are you with? I am on Week 5 of my 10-12 week wait for a Toyota Sienna.

Rae

Ann, that certainly doesn't make any sense!!! :( Sorry your morning has been shot. The sun is shining here today!!!!! It will still be in the 20s with the wind chill though.

Yuk!!! It's 3 degrees!!! It's only going too get up to 7 and it's snowing!!! But, the forcast is for it to be colder tomorrow!!! I'd even put up with the bugs at CC for a couple nights about now!!! Forcast......35 to 40 below windchills tonight!!
Rae I'm at a "full Chrysler line". Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep. Toyota and Honda seem to have a wait. Must domestics can be built and delivered in about 3 weeks.
Flexsmom, welcome to our little club. Yes, I am going to get the megaphone and we are all going to sing "happy birthday to Ann". They can't throw us ALL of the ship!! It can be a warm up for Rae and Andys "by invite only birthday cruise".

Ron - wanna know what we are paying for that Sienna? It could buy house! I think we've been taken, but then again, I always feel like that when I am dealing with car dealers - now why is that?!

It doesn't matter what kind of voice you have - it's the thought that counts (just don't stand next to me, or they will think someone got hurt!)

Rae

And so sick of the snow., If we were not going away in a few weeks I think I would lose my mind. The new plow man at least is not as psychotic, either that or he is afraid of me. I just finished snowblowing the driveway for the second time yesterday when he FINALLY came to our street. He went around the circle once and I just stood there with the snowblower and stared, he went a few more times but put most of it on the culdesaq not my yard. I still had to plow out about three feet, but better than six. I wonder what he would do if I were not there?>

ROFL at that image Ann! I can picture it now on the 6 o'clock news.

Plowman attacked by woman branishing snow blower. :p

Ann, it was just THAT look on your face that told him he'd better put it somewhere other than on your driveway! I shoveled today again, but we have nothing compared to what you have - but still, I am sick of it all and want to think SPRING!

I wonder how my horses are doing. I haven't seen them in weeks and thank God they have great care at the stable or I'd really be worried.

Rae

So, Rae, be sure to let me know when you will be signing autographs on this cruise so that I can include the information on the website. :p You are having too much fun changing the Themes of your cruises...especially this one. LOL! I have to keep checking to see what you are calling it now.

I am be clever but I am also forgetful. The password you gave me isn't working so either the site is down or I miswrote it when you gave it to me! So pm me with it and I'll give it another shot!

I'm calling the Pilgrimage - since all three priests on the tour are BROTHERS - I'm calling it the "Father's D. Do Europe Tour".
Gotta have a sense of humor - life is too serious to be grim!

It's 22 below - not complaining, others have it worse, but BRRRRRRR!

Rae

Well I'm back!!!! Man buisness just went NUTS!!! I couldn't even get time to get into my favorite forums!!! 35 delow last night wind chill and a high of 3 today ccccoooollllddddd. It's sure a good things cars break.....or I wouldn't be going on our 4th cruise with you guys...LOL!
Rae.....those Siennas and Oddessys(Honda) are "cult cars". I was the General Mgr. at a Honda-Hyundai store a couple of years ago and Honda people are Honda people. Toyota people are Toyota people and will usually pay anything and wait forever for what they want! I have heard nothing but good about the Sienna....good reliability, good resale etc...I have a good friend that I "trained" in the finance end of the buisness that is now a Mgr. at a Toyota store by (that owes me a few favors) us that if you want I can make a call and see how you did $$ wise. They have GREAT resale value so I'm sure you'll be fine either way. Me, I've been in the buisness for 23 years in April (I started changing plates and washing cars on my 16th birthday....) And I've only baught 1 new car....and that was in 2000 and it was a lease. I just recently baught DW a 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition at the auction with 13000 miles on it. Origional sticker was $51,000.00 and I paid a little over $30,000.00.....let someone else take the loss. If you was e-me with the datails of that Sienna and I'll have it priced out for ya......

Lampie - I think I love you! Wow! What a wonderful thing to do for us!! Thank you!!!! I pm'd you already but will have to go get the details and pm you again.

Nice picture of you and yours at the cruise list!!! Are you in for brunch with us?

Again, thank you and I'll get those details out to you.

Rae

Love the new kayla picture Rae!
Don't count on us for brunch.. I spend my time soaking up the sun.. don't like to "waste" tan time inside eating :)

Rae I really like that new picture too! :) I am planning on the brunch being our Palo meal so definantly count us in on the list. I also want to do High Tea. We really enjoyed our servers on the last cruise & the kids and were glad that we didn't miss any dinners with them.

Ann - have you seen the sun lately? It's still up there, I'm told.

Lisa - okay with brunch and high tea. I also hate to miss our regular servers, but there is one menu (Mexicali/Tropicali) that I don't like AT ALL - so that's the night we will be at Palo.
I can't remember what menu it is, but there is one that EVERYTHING is great and I always end up eating toooooo much that night.

Rae

I am SO glad I talked Jay into the quickie trip to F.L. I wish we were going for longer though, we will have really only three beach days, but three is better than none. We are going to TRY to pack only carry on bags, this will be hard for me as I always pack way to much no matter where we go. But it will make life a lot easier if we don't have to check anything, I bought some space bags today (the rollup kind) so hopefully it will work.

Anyone made plans for the ports yet?
We are going to stay on the ship in key west. I was not impressed with kw at all and it will give us time to use the pools etc.

Not sure yet about Grand Cayman or Cozumel, last time we did stingray city which was great but I don't think I will do the same thing again. Cozumel last time we only did mini golf and shopped so I would like to do something this time more "mexican".
Not sure which night we are doing palo, I really dislike the animators menu so maybe that night. Did anyone book their precruise hotel yet? I keep trying priceline every three days but so far no luck... oh well we have a LONG way to go, I am so glad I can get some warmth before then!

The menu the last night was the hardest for me to decide on. EVERYTHING sounded wonderful!!! The deserts were ALL fantastic! How do I know? We ordered one of each for the 4 adults, then I ordered a celebration cake to go. Formal night's menu Sunday night didn't really impress me. I may have just been too tired though.
