December 31st - who is trying to book?

Been on a waitlist for three months trying to get a reservation at boardwalk.

Call every day and have them search for anything that might be open but no luck.

Who else is trying to get this night and who has had luck?

Since that is the busiest and most difficult night of the year to book, I'm going to say you have very little chance of getting that waitlist. If I were you, I would book any cash ressie that might be available "just in case", because those are easy to cancel.

You best chance would be to stalk the member website multiple times per day in hopes of snagging a cancelation before the system picks up the canceled room. Of course that means that someone else on the waitlist ahead of you won't get that room...

Hope you get a reservation. I think you know it is really a long shot at this point. There have been waitlists for NYE at the BWV since well before the 7 month window opened. That's one reservation that some choose to walk at 11 months, especially if they covet a Boardwalk view or standard view. Right now, there are probably quite a few members who are regularly stalking the website or calling in hopes of catching a cancellation.

So I agree with Diane - if you haven't already booked a cash back up somewhere (I think all of the WDW DVC resorts are sold out for NYE), you should do so soon if you are going no matter what.

Last year we went on the waitlist for December 30 and 31 for a 2 bedroom 2 queens at BCV at the 7 month mark. We had the next 10 nights in that room type, so it was all we were interested in. We booked a back up on cash, so I put it out of my mind and didn't give it another thought. I assumed we'd be using the cash reservation and was fine with that. I was so shocked when, at 4 months out, I got an email that our waitlist had come through! So, while it's not likely, it does happen! Good luck

Thanks,I have been calling every day and yesterday a 1br lake view at bay lake towers opened up for December 31. So I cancelled my waitlist at BWV and set up one for the next night at bay lake . Jan 1 is more likely to open per, member services. Right now I am at BL for one night, BWV the next night and BCV the next three nights. I also have a waitlist for BC hoping we can get all 5 nights ther but if I just get one more night at BL I will be happy. Never stayed there before. And it will be much easier to seethe fireworks and walk back.

I called today(10/12) around lunch time and got AKL Kidani, savannah view studio,for 12/29-1/2/14. Totally surprised! Keep calling everyday!!! I'm waitlisted for 23-26th Boardwalk studio, Boardwalk view. Wish me luck on that one!!! Send me pixie dust!!!

Thanks for posting this! I called today and was able to change our cash reservation for 12/31-1/2 for Kidani on points. Happy to have the extra cash back in our pockets!

Wow, more and more is opening up for NYE

Member services said after Thanksgiving more usually opens up around Christmas because at Thanksgiving, families get together, disagree on plans and cancel
