I was looking for FE ideas on Pinterest and saw a note about allergies. We don't have an issue with that for our group, but thought I'd ask if any other families have allergies we should keep in mind when putting the gifts together. Plus, I need to get 10 posts.

We do have a nut allergy in our group for my twin boys. I did see that too and meant to mention it. Thanks!

Sorry, just got back from the Fantasy and we're planned on this cruise too and I was telling my wife how cool it would be to do the FE on the Xmas cruise. And, it's closed already..

If you can take another, just my little one of 8 years, if not, I'm sure Santa will come up with something.

New to all this. First Disney cruise - so excited! Looks like that FE group is full but if anybody organizes another, my family of 4 would be interested - 2 kids 13 & 10.

It's official, we'll be on the Disney Dream in 367 Days! 1st Cruise on the Dream, our last was in Jan 2012 on the Magic! The BIG question is when to spring the news on the kids!

Time to figure out where the FE is and start planning!

There is no FE for your group yet. If you wish you can start it:
Setting up FE group

There really are no "rules" as to how a FE program runs. Basically someone maintains the list of those who wish to participate. The group can decide on what information is necessary to produce FE gifts. A basic list may only have DISname/room number/number of people in the room. A more involved list could be first & last names/ages/room number/favorite character/favorite color/allergies/whatever is deemed necessary to know. Also a decision can be made as to size of FE. Some groups break out the list(s) at 10-15 rooms max, so that there are multiple lists (and some people will participate in more than one list). Other groups just make one big list (upwards of 20-30 rooms).

At some point the list will "close". Typically this happens 30-45 days out from the cruise, so that everyone participating has time to organize/prepare their gifts. Shortly before this time (about 2-3 weeks prior) the organizer will either post the list (usually via a conversation is best, as that's more private), or directly on the Cruise Meet thread, to confirm everyone on it is still participating. It’s important to make a statement about"anyone not confirming by XX date will be dropped"at this time. A little harsh, yes, but often there are people who will post on the cruise meet thread as soon as the reserve the cruise and say “I want to participate”, and are never heard from again.

Once the list closes, the organizer will post the final list. Also, a decision must be made as to whether to allow late additions. Sometimes there is a "pixie dust" list. That is, basically, a latecomers list that gets posted about a week out from the cruise that others may or may not add to their "final" list. Be sure the "pixie dust" list participants realize they may or may not get gifts from others, but are expected to provide gifts for the other FE participants anyway.

I will also note, to participate in conversations, everyone needs to have at least 10 posts. For those who wish to use this option for private conversations and don't have 10 posts yet, head over to the Test board to post and up your post count.http://www.disboards.com/forums/test-board.88/

Up to 20 people can participate in any given conversation.

I didn't realize how big of a deal FE are on the cruises. I can't wait to participate and find that perfect gift

Great to see some people on here! My family will be in 2 staterooms on this Christmas cruise! It will be our 2nd DCL cruise, 2nd on the Dream! I'm looking to participate in a small FE group, really liked the previous 6 family one we participated in last time. If anyone is interested in organizing or helping to organize a small FE group, preferably 10 families or less, I'd be willing to help.

We should have a group of 4-5 staterooms (7-8 children from infant to 14)

Am I too late for the party? I will happily join if not and although I've never organised before I could give it a go (if you don't all think I am gate crashing)

I (Jess 38) am travelling with my 2 daughters, 10 years and 21 months, along with my mum and dad also.

I have been on the Magic a couple of times before and participated once before.

I know our crew are looking to join a FE group, I'm glad to read the different post because I was wondering how to manage the # of items. I'm just not sure how many staterooms yet are going with us yet. We probably could just do it with us but I think it will be more fun to enjoy with new friends

Hello Everyone! Looks like my DS (17) and I will be on the Dream for Christmas!!! He's a rising senior in high school, but loves the Disney ships. We've only been on the Magic and the Wonder when he was a bit younger, so it's our first time on the big boats!!!!!!! It would be great if he could meet some others his age before sailing! He's a gamer (online stuff like COD and League), but I expect he'll NOT be playing on board. Perhaps some others who will be missing their games might like to hang out and talk about what they're missing! He loves math and physics, and will likely go to college where I teach (Embry-Riddle in Daytona) after he graduates.

Hoping to see my BFF and her family book this cruise, too! She and her soon-to-be hubby, plus DD (15) and DS (13). They've never cruised with Disney, and I'm almost as excited for THEM as I am for US!!!!!!!!

Have him check out Vibe on the first night. We're going to be on the ship with our 18 yo son but when he was 16 & 17, he spent about 100% of his time at Vibe or with the kids he met there. Going the first night is key!
