December 2017 Resorts full?

December has a few things going that can influence attendance/room availability. There's Pop Warner earlier in the month, then free dining begins in the middle, followed by Christmas vacations. Don't forget snowbirds begin arriving at the campsites at the fort.

Our previous school district allowed us to miss the last week of school before break (to align with the calendar of the local University) so we would go then to beat the crowds. Sadly we moved and now join the masses. Fortunately we booked our trip last October with a free dining bounceback offer.

So it's starting to sound like summer is *gasp* becoming less busy than the fall & winter. The hotel rates are certainly lower & it's currently easier to get a reservation. I normally avoid the summer like the plague but considering that it's been nearly impossible to get a room (or AP discount) for the fall I might have to go back to summertime. Plus, the parks are open SO much longer in the summer.

It took me 2 days of waiting almost 6 hours combined phone calls to get an Art of ANIMATION Little Mermaid - which we didn't want - then on day ASMovie opened up and was able to grab that cheaper for 9-16 - --- so it happens --- now let's hope for POP

I've been going early December for almost 20 years and it's always been a popular time to stay onsite but crowds are not that bad. Keep in mind that park crowds are more than 50% offsite.
