December 2015 Check-In Thread

We will be at the GCH from December 17-23! Can't wait to see DLR post some holiday happenings so we can make those Ressies. We are hoping for a PTN dinner package with seats!!

Can't wait to be there that week, with Christmas full on and all the Star Wars stuff!!!!

We will be there the 7-12th..can anyone tell me what is the Star Wars stuff that will be going on?

Wasn't sure we were going to do a winter trip this year, but with all the closings/changes next year, we have to say good bye to BTRBBQ and some of our other favorites!

In the past, we always skipped BTRBBQ because we don't eat large meals. Most restaurant servings are way too large for us! But what the hay, I got a reservation and we'll try it before it goes away. :sad2:

On a positive note, maybe someday I'll be having dinner in Star Wars Cantina? Whooo knows! lol

Count us in!! Its a girls trip (me, sister, and our mom). We are staying at BWPPI (first time) -- hope we like it! Dec. 10 - Dec. 13

Super excited! I love DLR during the holidays! :santa:

We :worship: BWPPI its our goto resort right across the street from the entrance, free breakfast (it "should" be available by then) did I mention really close almost closer than resort hotels. Big rooms fridge and microwave we really like it! We will be there from Dec 11 thru the 15th hope you have a wonderful holiday!

We decided to stay at the new Anaheim Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance instead of HoJo's, and we added a day so now it's 12/26 - 1/3. Just need to make a few ADRs as soon as the calendar opens up, order some rain gear, and then we're good to go!

December 1-4 staying at Disneys Grand California hotel. Me and my husband and 3 kids. I hope all the Christmas decorations are up :)

Im a lurker as well.. Finally joined after 3 years! Have no clue why? Anyway, we will be there Dec 9-12th, staying at DLH .

It appears that December, especially from mid-point of the month on, is going to be one big mass of crazy crowds this year.

What is everyone planning to make the most of your trip? More breaks? Different touring strategy than normal? Just a lot of patience? Doing off-the-beaten-path activities?

I'm curious how everyone is planning to deal with the craziness!

Sis and I decided on GCH over Carousel for our trip (Dec 7-10).

We will deal with the craziness by winging it! We're planning on doing the Holiday Tour so at least we'll get to ride a few holiday rides and see the parade :) We will do more wining and dining, most likely, and shop :) Something we always do anyway is get there early!

I was on the fence for the Holiday Tour, but I'm thinking we might do it now for the same reason as you...rides and parade.
Since we're going for DH's birthday, I scheduled a dinner a SH55 one night...and we'll probably wander and look @ décor/shop more than we normally would. Being AP locals, it's not like we haven't ridden everything 100 times over, so we might do other things instead...

I'll make a note on the front page for your GCH decision. :)

I'm jumping over here from the November board. I couldn’t resist SW’s fare sale this week and was able save 4,000 pts. I will be there Dec 5-6, staying at the new Homewood Suites. I know it will be a busy weekend, but I’m excited now that I might get to see Candlelight!

This quick trip will be about doing all the Christmas-y things that I didn’t get to do last year, seeing one last performance of F! and maybe, just maybe, WOC if I can fit it in since I’ve never seen it before. Oh, and I plan on partaking in as many holiday treats as I can! I'm also intrigued by the Holiday Tour now. I may need to check that out. I can’t wait!!

We will be there (Dec 23 - Jan 3) in the mist of all the craziness! :-) We are usually rope drop people and do our rides before the parks get too busy, then we take an afternoon break before heading back to the parks in the evenings to wander around. This year, DD(19) and DH who are not morning people will be joining DD(13) and I. But I have already warned them that it will be busy as the day goes on so they better be up for RD. Since, we were at the parks in July for the 60th, DD(13) and I have already seen all the new entertainment but wanted to share these with DD(19) and DH. They will only be in the parks for 5 days whereas DD (13) and I have 10 days there. So, I have a tentative plan for the 5 days with parades, fireworks, WOC and ADRs. Hopefully, we can kind of follow these plans but sometimes, my family have other ideas! LOL On Christmas Day, we will be in DL and not planning to leave just in case it reaches capacity. And it all depends on how the family is feeling, if it gets too crowded, then we will leave and either head over to DCA or wherever we feel like. DD(13) and I are planning to spend New Year's Eve at DL before moving over to DCA. We always seem to find a place to chill when it gets too crowded, so not too worry about that. Just really excited to be at Disneyland again during the holidays. :santa:

Count us in as crazies... my DGD7 and I will be there from 12/26 - 1/3. I've never been during the peak-of-the-peak so I'm just trying to keep an open mind. Planning for rope drop every day, mid-day break and then return to the parks until we get tired. I'm hoping rope drop isn't crazy busy every day, because we're staying offsite and won't have any early entry days. I have an AP, so even though my DGD will have a MM on her ticket, we won't be able to use it since APs don't have MM. We'll be utilizing FPs as much as possible, and other than riding PP (we haven't seen it post-refurb) and watching Paint the Night and Disneyland Forever (I've seen them but she hasn't) we don't really have any hard requirements. We're just going to see where each day takes us, and try to not get grid-locked! We'll also do at least one ADR per day to try to avoid dining lines.

I will be at the parks from Dec 24th to Dec 30th at Best Western Courtesy inn, (when I booked it was the cheapest thing we were willing to take at $85 a night, now it is $200 a night!!)
