December 2014 watch

We're from the UK and have booked flights from 22/29th December. I assumed there would not be any discounts/FD during this time, but maybe I should hold off from booking my accommodation? Would love free dining!

even if you book and the FD comes available you can call them up and ask them to change it as long as its before 45 days of the trip date. good luck:)

Eeep! I am thinking November 30- December 6. First trip to The World during the Christmas season. Praying for some kind of discount!

Is this only the case if I book direct with Disney? I'm getting a good price with Expedia at the moment.

Stayed at POFQ Dec 11-14 2013 prior to our DCL on the Fantasy. It was our 2nd trip (went Dec 8-10 2011 prior to DCL Magic) - when we were there this trip we got a BB offer for 30% off so re-booked for Dec 13-20th 2014 at the POFQ again - loved it!! We were there at POP Warner week but only noticed it at the restaurants at DD. . . . can't stop planning and reading - so OCD over WDW!! :goodvibes

DH agreed to a Disney vacation next winter!!! YAY!!!!

We normally go in Jan/Feb, but with DD's 11th (wizard) birthday, maybe he'll be willing to go in Dec so we can do Ollivander's at WWOHP and a few days at universal too!!!

YAAAAAYYYYY!!!

Heck at this point, I'd be willing to take our normal 9ish days in january/Feb. I just want to get back to WDW, where we can all be little kids again!!! WOO HOo!! :cool1:

Hi all,

I am new to the boards, but planning my second trip to WDW for December 2014. I want to split out trip - one week on I-Drive and one week at a Disney resort, probably Coronado or Caribbean Beach. I am hoping for free dining during our week at Disney, but I a not sure where to look for the offers/codes when they come about, and then how to use them!!

I have not booked anything yet so any help greatly appreciated!

I don't believe they have ever offered free dining during the Pop cheerleading week.
Someone posted on FB that they had heard that Disney may stop offering free dining altogether and only offer discounts on the rooms. Has anyone heard any truth to that?

we have always gone at some point in pop warner week and we have received free dining every time except our first trip (our first trip was before free dining was offered regularly)

I just switched us from the BC to WL because of the fact that BC needs refurbished.

I am hoping to book a trip from 12/18-12/26. We have never been at Xmas time and really want to experience it. Both my sons will be at new schools (entering 9th & 7th grades) so can only pull them for 2 days at the most. My question is what to book in the meantime and what happens if a discount room rate comes up and we want to change our reservation? Thanks!

My dates are similar, but arriving on the 20th and staying through the new year, or as long as I can afford! Advice I hear quite often is to NOT book anything right now, because the more rooms that are booked, the less chance Disney will need to offer discounts.

Having said that, right now, I am booked at the Swan, with a AAA discount, which is less than the price of a value during the holiday season. I am comfortable with that, if Disney comes out with nothing in the way of discounts. If discounts come out, I will look at onsite and cancel the Swan if need be. Hotels usually offer decent cancellation policies. Rental houses/condos don't always have as good of cancellation policies, so if ultimately you are looking at making changes, I would avoid those.

Count me in! DH and I have never tried to do Christmas time and we are terrified of the crowd levels, though! :( Any tips?

We have typically traveled in September, May, and January. But right now I am hoping to book 11/28-12/5

Hopefully this might be helpful for those looking to secure a room only discount. But please note not all resorts, room types and dates are discounted, so here's a few examples......

From the 19th Dec through to check-out on 1st Jan at either the All Star's Sports or Music resorts in a standard room at about $151 per night against a rack rate of $198 so a saving of up to 23% for 2-adults and up to 2-children.

Or at Wilderness Lodge in a woods view room between the 1st and checking out by the 8th for about $230 a night against a rack rate of $387 for weekday and $429 for weekend nights so saving between 40-46%.

For more info check out thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3222577 on these room only discounts.

are you wanted to go during the actual Christmas week or the dates you provided? We always go around that time. In 2012 we arrived on 11/27 for 7 nights. We got free dining and although it wasn't completely 'dead'. We didn't experience horrific crowds. We took advantage of extra magical hours ( especially morning) and found that time to be the most relaxing and walk on everything.

The dates provided would be our goal. Thank you for the insight!

we love that time. The decorations are up the crowds are not bad... Now if you do go during pop warner week I would pick extra magic mornings over evenings if you want lighter crowds. Like I have said before we have always received a nice size room discount or free dining during that week. If you look on the mouse savers website you can see that the discounts are there.

So if I book now, and change the reservation dates if the discount dates are off and I'm flexible with the dates, what about our dining reservation? We would be past the 180 day by that time right? I'm thinking around dec 12th or so

I just booked a 4 night from 12/1-12/5. I am not interested in paying for a dining plan but I would take advantage of free dining if it is offered. So, my question is, if we have an existing reservation will they add the free dining package later on if offered?
