December 2014 watch

We ae planning another Christmas trip too!! Cant wait to see what the discounts will be

We're also going! Trying to decide between 9-16 and 11-18... Do you think there will be a big difference in crowds between the two?

I heard Pop Warner will be there around the 9th, so maybe 11-18 would be better for you? I'm not sure because the closer to Christmas the bigger the crowds... :confused3

Joining in the thread, we are contemplating a split stay in Dec if FD is available.
We'll try two rooms at POP or CBR (haven't decided yet...any suggestions?) for between 4-6 days and then round the rest of 12 days out at a rental house in Windsor Hills or Emerald Island.

With two rooms and 9 people it is REALLY hard to justify onsite, but I think with FD it might work since we like to do plenty of character meals. I guess I will probably get to wait until August to make my final decision :)

Did anyone see this on the Dis Updates email?? Of course these come out after I rent points! LOL, hope it helps someone out there!

I don't think that's any specific discount. I think that's more of a package discount, not a % off or anything like that. It's still $3k for 6 nights with park tickets and dining. and who knows what kind of hotel - it could be at a value - that doesn't seem "cheap" to me.

I'm hoping to convince DH to jump on-board for a WDW/Universal split trip in early Dec. We normally go in Jan/Feb every other year, and this month would have been our normal time, but discounts were just NOT coming! The lowest quote we got was $5,200, when we were expecting to pay about $4,500, based on past trips and inflation.

I want to go in Dec though, because I want to go back to WDW, while DD still wants to go and thinks it's awesome, and then I want to take her to WWHP for her 11th birthday - her "wizard/witch" birthday! I want so badly to take her into Ollivanders on her actual 11th birthday to get a wand!!!

So, my dream would be to arrive Nov 30 or Dec 1, stay at WL (again) for 7 nights until the 8th, move over to a Universal hotel and stay until the 12th. We'd have 7 days of Disney, and Mon-Fri of Universal. We'd be at Disney for our anniversary and at Universal for DD's 11th birthday!

Wouldn't it be dreamy??? I'm really going to have to curb silly spending this year if I want any part of this to become reality!!

We are planning to go Dec 9-14th however our dates are flexible if a discount comes out. We currently are planning to stay at AoA - little mermaid room however if discount comes out we will move to a different resort to take advantage.

We went from 12/16 to 12/21 last December and never again. The parks were too crowded!

We're planning a Christmas trip too! Thinking December 17-27. Can't wait to hear about more discounts!

This past December, as in last month? We were there that week and thought the crowd levels were awesome. Never waited more than ten minutes, and rode headliners more than once. We follow Josh's recommendations at easywdw, and we utilize rope drop, fast pass (we used + and legacy this trip), and just plain strategy. This is actually the week we travel to Disney every year....it's our favorite time to go!

Will be returning to the World December 11th-18th staying at the Grand Floridian Resort, had such a good time last year with the fiancé were gonna do the same time and resort again this year. ;)

Already booked a trip for august 23-31 and hoping to book again for dec 2-7! Def looking for discounts!

We were there the same time except we got there on the 13th. Crowd levels were awesome most of the days we were there too! There was only one day at DHS that we considered extra busy.

we are planning on coming down on thanksgiving and staying until dec 6th. We were going to do a RO with hopefully the military discount then switch over to (Im praying) FD on Saturday! If not I guess we will stay with the military discount (provided it is offered again this year!) the entire time. We are booked at AoA but I have convinced everyone to go back to our fave POR! I can't wait! We did FD in Dec 2010 and it was awesome! This time we will being doing MVMCP which we missed last time !! I am so excited!!!:goodvibes

Jumping in in case the stars align for us to do a December WDW trip this year! We went in December of 2008 and had a great time until I got sick:sick: and missed the last two days of the trip. Have been wanting to get back during that time frame ever since!:goodvibes

Want to stay in the loop on this too! Am torn between renting DVC, or booking straight... For my daughter & I room discounts usually work out better than FD.

Anyone know what the discount was this past December?

You might be cheaper renting DVC points then waiting for the RO discount. I did the math on a Deluxe and at least for that we were cheaper then the RO discount they offered last year. Depending on what area you are wanting to stay you might find a great deal renting points.

We'll be flying in on Saturday, December 13th, for a short 3-night stay @ POR. We did this last month and it was GREAT, we can't wait to get back.

This will be our 3rd year in a row seeing Disney at Christmas time.

We haven't booked yet, we'll do it was soon as Southwest extends their schedule just in case we need to move the dates a bit due to the cost of the flights.

With 5 of us (3 being Disney kids) we always hope for Free Dining becasue it saves us a boatload of money -- we have several "must do" character meals. Here's to hoping they have the discount again this year!
