December 2014 Discounts?

Looking into booking a Trip for Christmas next year. I doubt there will be any discounts, but what are the chances the rates will rise between now and the spring for December '14?

The 2014 rates have already been released and Disney doesn't change the room rates mid year. The discounts for December 2013 were released in August, so look for Dec 2014 discounts right around that time period in 2014.

I just booked the Swan for Xmas 2014. The AAA rate was just about what a Disney value would be with the $20.00 resort fee, otherwise it was cheaper - $196.00 a night. I am hoping for Free Dining, arriving on the 20th, however, I feel better knowing I have a room booked at a rate I can live with, given I don't get a discount from Disney.

No. The Swan & Dolphin are not Disney owned, so you can't get the DDP at all.

No, I would switch to a Disney moderate. With two teenagers, Free Dining would save me more money than my AAA rate at the Swan!!! I would have to pay rack rate, which would be $100.00 more a night at a moderate, but I guarantee you we eat more than $100.00 a day at Disney! I wish we didn't, but???, it's vacation.

There are usually rumors here on the boards a couple of weeks prior to the release if FD is going to be an upcoming promo. Only Disney resorts qualify for FD, so the Swan/Dolphin would not be included. You would also have to book a package with a minimum of a 2 day base ticket for everyone in the room in order to get FD. With that said, not all resorts/room types are always included. Disney releases discounts to fill rooms, so if a resort is at or near capacity, Disney will see no need to offer a discount for that particular resort. If you have a package booked and then FD comes out for your dates, you would have to call to check availability. If your resort/room type is available under FD, it can easily be applied as long as you already have a package booked. HTH .
