The Costco code requires a membership, correct? It's the same price as the Southwest one about for us.

I've struggled for weeks to find a reasonable rate for 12/18 (7 a.m.) to 12/22 (7 p.m.). Today I'm coming up with 297 total on Alamo with either AP or SW codes. BUT, on Costco's website, I got $235 total ($174 base) for an econ from Budget. Beats the $189 special base rate from Dollar a couple of weeks ago. I prefer Alamo, though, so I'll keep looking....

Budget is not bad. I would definitely go with them to save money.

You can make a reservation with a $30 off coupon for a week (and your 4 1/2 days qualifies) and search for your dates. Replace the BCD number (change BCD at the left) with the Costco one (search for a car on Costco Travel and the click on Terms and Conditions to find the code) and re-search. I get a Standard car for $232 all-in.

Still unable to get my minivan weekly rate under $300 for 11/29 to 12/6. Currently, my rental rate is $303 for the week using a KLM code and coupon.

I found one rental for $285 using the Compass Group code, but not sure if I can use it (not a member). I belong to Southwest, KLM, BJ's, Sam's Club, AAA. Anyone have better luck for that week??

Ok... so that is a significant difference! I now have booked a 7 passenger van. I think with the fold down seats in back it should be fine.

Yes, they may/will ask for your Costco membership card. The Costco code includes a 2nd driver for free, but personally, I only use codes that I know I qualify for.

Bidding on priceline is a great option just ignore suggested bids offered by priceline.

Seems like Alamo rates are down again (a little). I just rebooked our minivan AGAIN... it's down to $262.93.

Dec 14 (11:30am) to Dec 23 (4:30pm), Costco (because we have 2 drivers), and coupon code.
Full size is down for the first time for quite a while.

Well it looks like Alamo has come down! I am back to renting the mid-size SUV because it has dropped to $232 for Dec 6-16 using passholder and the $30 coupon!

It has dropped from $372 at the beginning of November to $232!

Just booked a intermediate at Alamo on Costco for $112.72 all in for 4 days (noon 12/13-8pm12/16). Had tried Priceline this weekend for $14 a day which would have been about $96 after tax and fees and it was refused. I am ok with this and always appreciate the free extra driver that Costco offers.

wow, I have never been able to get my rate lower than $340 on the AAA website! I am wondering if it has anything to do with my pick up date (it's the Saturday after Thanksgiving)?

No codes or coupons, just their site. That rate came up with and without the loyalty program.

For anyone feeling guilty about booking a car with the bjs wholesale club discount, there have been coupons in the sunday paper coupons for a free 60 day membership. If you get the free membership, you can book the car discount with a clear conscience. Bjs will issue a membership card with no expiration date. As long as you were a member when the car was booked, you shouldnt feel bad.

As an aside, when i rented thru alamo last month at mco with my bjs member discount i checked in online and went straight to the garage. When i was checking out, all i had to present to the attendant was my license and credit card.
