Has anyone hear of exotic driving, I was thinking of getting it for my husband as an early Christmas present. It's offered on the racetrack in downtown Disney.

I read a while ago that the DIS was offering a discount on this. Check on the wdwinfo side of the forum and search for it.

There's a good book about Pin Trading but it's temporarily out if print. I'm waiting for that to come back in stock. Then I'll get the books and starter sets and some extra pins and pack them in a Disney box and " send" them from Mickey.

I just bought a bulk pack of 100 pins from someone on eBay, and had a great experience. He had tons of positive feedback, and all of the pins have the proper stamp on the back, plus they all had black Mickey head backs. It wasn't too expensive...roughly $60 for 100 pins.

Which book are you talking about? I'd love to check it out.

We bought our MVMCP pins, I believe, at the gift shop at either Liberty Sqr or Frontier Land. All gift shops stash the exclusive merchandise til after 7pm. Also, when we were there, if you spent $100 (which is SOOOOOOOOOOOO easy to do) we got a MVMCP exclusive fleece blanket of the castle all lit up.

I NEED that blanket!! :rotfl2: I bought the blanket during regular hours that was offered, but it was just the regular castle. I had seen the blanket with castle lights in people's pictures on here, but I thought it was from the year before. I didnt know they had different ones for MVMCP. Hope they have it at MVMCP this year!! :cool1::cool1:

Ugh. $100.....I think I'll stock up on some Disney gift cards between now and December! Was the Christmas lanyard a MVMCP exclusive? Only available at the World?

I don't think the lanyard was a MVMCP exclusive. Just very Christmas-y. In fact, I think I bought it at the EPCOT pin trading center, when I realized 1/2 way through our first day, how much I hated digging into my pocket to get my wallet, to get whichever card I needed at that point. Ok, I'll fess up... I bought some pins too. :thumbsup2

I keep my KTTK in my camera bag, which has a chest harness, or my pocket. I have one pin (Bambi's Flower) on my bag.

This trip DS asked about pin trading. Since we're taking the in-laws (first-time) and both DS and FIL are big collectors (DS Pokemon cards and FIL coins), I thought this was something they could learn together. There's a good book about Pin Trading but it's temporarily out if print. I'm waiting for that to come back in stock. Then I'll get the books and starter sets and some extra pins and pack them in a Disney box and " send" them from Mickey. I want them to get the package before the trip so they have time to prepare. This will be a new experience for us.

Here is a link from the 2010 MVMCP thread I was a member of before our trip. On this page, there are pics of the merch and the MVMCP exclusive pins. When we got there, there were already some pins that were sold out. So, you can imagine, we pretty much had to battle our way through the crowds "peacefully" to get to the counter and get as many MVMCP pins as possible.

The best way I can describe it... Have you ever seen on the news when a local bridal shop has their annual sale on bridal gowns? It's a lot like that. :duck:

They released an update in March and then something happened. Maybe they ran out, or more likely, there was a printing problem. The authors said they'd have a new batch out soon.

I'll definitely be buying some bulk pins. I'm thinking to buy a lot of princesses so that my slightly obsessive son can actually trade some without causing his brain to explode. He struggles with making choices, always afraid he'll choose wrong. But he shouldn't have any trouble trading away "girl" pins. ;) in theory, anyway. You should see the child trying to pick ice cream flavors. *lol*

That just made me laugh out loud in class (taking summer classes to try and finish my degree a year early). Oops! When you get your pins, I'd be willing to trade some via mail if you want some *more* princesses.

Still no update on the "TBA" CP narrarators. I keep checking about daily expecting some updates but nada.

99% sure we'll be seeing Olivia Newton John, but that one TBA at the tail end of our trip is keeping me from fully committing to my schedule and purchasing MVMCP tickets!

On another note: I decided I won't be all that bummed if New Fantasyland isn't open by mid-Dec. While I'd like to see Beast's Castle...I don't have a whole lot of interest in battling crowds to dine there. I've been on the Little Mermaid ride in DCA so beyond photographing the new environment, there's not a lot pulling me into there.

Therefore, I will just keep my fingers crossed that Test Track is operational by then! :yay:

We are there for December too! We arruve the day after Thanksgiving and leave on December 10! with our first cruise thown in there too!

Add us to the Roll Call! :) We're headed down Dec 8 - Dec 14, staying at the Wilderness Lodge.

I'm on the fence about the MVMCP -- we didn't do it last year. I'd kind of like to do it this year, but the expense is killing me. We didn't have a problem with the crowds at all last year, so I can't justify it based on short lines.

I'm crossing my fingers that Test Track and some of the new Fantasyland will be open for our visit. Test Track was one of my sons' very favorite rides.

If you're considering doing it for short lines on rides, then you won't be disappointed, but you can find short ride lines during some days already.

If you're thinking of doing it looking for smaller crowds, you'll be disappointed.

If you're thinking of doin git for the special character meets, magical atmosphere, and awesome parade and fireworks....... then do it. You'll love it.

Count us in! We will be there Dec 10-15 at POFQ! And we are doing MVMCP on Dec 11th. We just decided we should do it once and hopefully dh will be chill that night and just go with it. We have done Disney so many times that we are a little more relaxed when we go!

It is still a secret and the kids don't know yet!

This sums it up rather nicely! We are going for reason #3, so we ought to  it! :santa:

Welcome new Roll Callers!!! Sorry I've been a little quiet on here as of late. But I have been (quietly) updating the Roll Call in the background. ::yes::

I plan to ride any new rides but I agree, I'm not standing in lines for CS food. So That will probably have to wait for another trip.

However, I saw rumors on another thread that TT might open later than expected. :(

Oh, that sounds perfectly magical to me, but I have to convince my DH, who hates parades, why we should pay for a hard ticket event! ;)

We are booked Dec 11-14 (free dining...yeay!) for our second stay at Wilderness Lodge....

I work in a public school as a SpEd aide so now I just have to cross my fingers that my principal will be okay with me taking off the time so close to Christmas break...

I was only going to take a Friday off and go 12/7-9 for my daughter's 9th birthday on the 9th but I couldn't pass up free dining!

We already have CRT planned for breakfast on the 13th and I am waiting to see if BOG will be open (probably do a QS for that)...

We are planning to do CP with Jodi Benson (my daughter loves Ariel) but not sure yet if we will do the dinning package as it would use the rest of our TSes...

Oh and as long as there are tickets left, shooting for MVMCP for the 13th too....just need to get paid!

You know what? My husband is a parade hater too. But he left after the parade last year gushing about how we need to do this every year as the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season. The marching toy soldiers, the dancing reindeer........ it's adorable.

And I can't get him to sit and watch any other parade. Hates them. :lmao:

Yeah :rolleyes2 Not to be a debbie downer but unless they pick up the pace, new fantasyland and TT are going to be 2013. Boohiss!!

On a positive note-made my last payment today on the trip! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

So quick question for everyone if I had a 5:45 ADR for the night of the party do you think I could get out before the 7 party??? like at LTT.

I just don't want to eat at like 4pm.
