hhmm well $20 more bucks isn't to bad, I thought it had gone up $50. I want to get new luggage, the lite suitcases to help with weight. Those are pretty nice.

If you want light luggage, I recommend a hockey bag. Big, spacious and light. The only down side, no wheels.

THey do make em with wheels on one end. I was tempted to buy one for my 3 yo son since I am the one that has to carry the thing....for now

For those of you who already have their flights booked who are you using??? Who we normally use is still not showing any available flights for Dec.

We fly Southwest, so I know what you mean. It's a waiting game for now! Once I know what our flight schedule is, then everything else will fall into place.

We bought our luggage about a month or so ago. Kohls was having a huge sale and we also got $10 Kohls cash for every $50 we spent.
I cannot remember the name of the brand but we read all the reviews and they were pretty positive for the most part. They are light weight and 'seem' sturdy.
We got 4 pc sets for $199 ( we bought 2 sets) each. They were originally $329 each. So we have 2 lg suitcases for my DH and I. Two smaller ones for the girls...and carry ons for each one of us....but I don't know if we will need all of them. (they also came with small duffle bag type of things but I don't know if I will use those at all)
I also had to pick up a few things for our older son (20 years old) so I ended up with $60 to spend at Kohls for ME! Whoo Hoo!

I was waiting for JetBlue out of Boston to come up for Dec but the rate they were going I was afraid they'd not come out until Mid May and that sort of stressed me out! So we went with United flights. I saw someone mentioned JetBlue here and so I checked, sure enough they are out now and it would have been $200 cheeper for the 3 of us with direct flights....POOP! I was just so afraid with us going Dec 15-27, and raising gas prices that if I had to wait much longer, we'd be screwed in prices.

woot woot! Just got off the phone with United because I went back to see how much they cost now figuring they would be up...nope they are now actually $1.70 cheaper than JetBlue! Called United and woot woot they gave me the current prices! Got money back :cool1:

That's GREAT!!! :cheer2: and you just KNOW that the prices are going to go UP big time over the summer!
We actually booked our flights out of Hartford because it was $60 pp rt LESS than BOS.
It's already gone up $20 pp right now...so I'm already saving $ !!!

Doesn't it feel good??? :cool1:

Oh heck yeh ahhaa. I know at some point they will go up. For us it is a little closer to go out of Manchester (easier, too) but prices from Boston were better. I saw your post earlier and after I checked the JetBlue page and saw they were cheaper than United, I wanted to feel some vindication that the United prices were probably higher now than when I bought. I saw it was CHEAPER and I wanted to cry haha. I figured what the heck I'll call and see if they will honor it, what is the worst they can tell me, no, right! Besides I got to see that they changed our outgoing flight to a little later but we still get in at the same time! :yay:

Yea, we fly AirTran, which is now owned by Southwest.

Awesome getting the flight for cheaper!!!! :goodvibes

If prices are too high we will just suck it up and drive. We have done it twice before but normally when we go to visit other places in Orlando. We will wait and see tho.

Oh good!!! I'm glad my post helped you....sort of. :rotfl:

We are fortunate that Boston, Manchester, Hartford and Providence are all within an hour and a half (give or take) of us so we had a lot of choices. I was having anxiety over booking with Southwest with the chance that we might not get to sit with our children (age 8 when we go) . I was thrilled when jet Blue opened up the schedule and it was even cheaper than Southwest! (they are running $135 one way and Jet Blue was $125 each way for us)
Maybe that helped United change their fares too??? Competition???

That is awesome! I've been stalking the flight costs but they aren't budging yet for me.

We have about 3 weeks or so left until Southwest rates are posted fir our trip. We fly from Manchester, NH. Historically we have always faired better with Southwest. Even if the cost was $10-$20 more per ticket. Bags fly free on Southwest. Last February we went to WDW. Half my party did Southwest and the other Delta out of Boston. Delta was over $20 cheaper per way and those who chose Delta ended up paying $100 extra per person after all the bag checking fees (round trip).

I hope that isn't the case with any of you. I am uncertain of other airlines bag policies.

Anyone else notice the pattern of how many New Englanders are going to WDW this Dec? You'd almost think it was a mass migration or something.

I figure the luggage fee into the cost when I do my pricing. I'm waiting for Southwest to see what there rates are.

We're waiting for Southwest too...someone said 3 more weeks? I just want to schedule when we can get down there, so I start my hard core planning :rotfl:

So, the last week in April? I just hope it's before the release dates of MVMCP and December park hours!!!

I said 3, just double checked it's 4 (for my vacation needs anyways). They allow you to book 7 months in advance, so as of today you can book up to Nov 2

I think that depends, if they were paying $100 extra a person they each brought 2 checked in bags? Dang and I thought I packed heavy :rotfl2: Not to mention on the major airlines, if you use their cc to book, most give you baggage free as well.

Heck yeh! who wants to shovel snow...oh wait we didn't have to last year did we? :lmao: But that is also why I didn't want to wait around for the Southwest and JetBlues to come out with their flights, I was so worried by then they'd be soooo much more with the price of gas and people cutting back on vacay etc. Just call me paranoid :scared1: I know in the grand scheme of things a couple hundred more isn't much BUT it is if it is multiplied by more that one person right? Some people aren't as Type A and "I need it NOW" as I am, I respect that...no wait, I'm really jealous of that haha. Please teach me Yoda :yoda:

You've been able to book up to Nov 2nd for a couple of months now, I think they release the dates in "chunks".

We have SW Rapid Rewards for at least 2 of our 3 tickets so I'm anxiously awaiting the release of our dates as well.

I did buy my MYW hoppers at Undercover Tourist this month though! Had some extra room in our budget and haven't even filed our taxes yet, still waiting on one last form.

Really wish SW would announce when they're going to release December dates.

Hopefully the mass migration of New Englanders will mean it'll be nice and (relatively) warm for us! I'm not that great at handling weather lower than mid 50's degrees!
