Has anyone ever seen the Epcot storytellers? Just wondering if I should try to schedule this in on our Epcot days. Worth it?

Here is the info from here on the DIS:

November 25 - December 24, 2011

One of the really special things about celebrating the holiday season in Epcot is learning about the holiday traditions of all the different countries. Each country has its own special theme that highlights its culture. Storytellers will delight you with tales of their heritage and how the holidays are celebrated in their homeland. It's a unique opportunity to learn more about the world in which we live. Check the times guide for storytellers' schedules.

Storytellers include:

American Adventure: Story of Hanukkah, Santa Claus, Story of Kwanzaa

Canada: Papa Noel

China: The Monkey King

France: Pere Noel

Germany: Helga

Italy: La Befana

Japan: Daruma Vendor

Mexico: The Three Kings

Morocco: Taarji

Norway: Julenissen

United Kingdom: Father Christm
as

I've seen the monkey king and la befana. Both were really cool. But the monkey king is more interactive and animated.

Hi everyone! We just booked our first Christmastime trip!! I am so excited and seriously cannot get the perma-smile off this morning.:goodvibes

We are planning MVMCP and a sleigh ride at the WL. I know not to miss the Osborne lights, but is their anything else we should shoot for? Our little ones are at such a magical age, and I want to make sure we take advantage of Disney at Christmas! We'll be there December 9-17th.

Now, off to find me a ticker...:cool1:

Thanks, OP, for this thread!

My husband and I are going to DW the first week of December (2-7) and will be staying at ASM (our fav resort!). We are thinking of adding one or two more days later on. This will be our first time visiting DW in December for the holidays.

Our first trip was in August and we hated the heat and vowed to never go again in the summer months! Our past two trips have been in February for our anniversary & honeymoon and we loved it. The weather was perfect each time. I'm very excited to see what it will be like in December as well as seeing all of the holiday decor.

We will be there the 2nd-8th!! Never stayed at ASMo but very excited!! Looks like a lot of fun!

I had a few issues booking online this morning. I got one reservation booked then any time after that I kept getting a were sorry we experienced a problem please try again. :badpc: After 10 minutes of that I gave up and showered to get ready for work, then got back online and was finally able to book some reservations. I didn't get all the times I wanted but I'll keep checking. I wasn't able to get Chef Mickeys for our goodbye breakfast on the 16th. :confused3They still do breakfast, right? It's on a Sunday. I also just realized I didn't book anything for our Hollywood Studio day, so I need to go do that. (you wouldn't think getting up 30 minutes earlier than usual would discombobulate me so much, LOL):coffee: Here's my list.

Dec 10th arrival day
Liberty Tavern 7:30pm (don't like this time at all, thinking about canceling and just eating at our resort when we get in)

Tuesday 11th epcot day
Askershus 8:05 breakfast
Biergarten 630pm supper

Wednesday 12th MK
Crystal Palace 8:35 breakfast (im going to keep trying, want to get in when they open)of course if I leave it at this time we can do Rope drop, so I'll think about it.

CRT 6:40pm birthday supper for daughter! (i am very happy with this time, I think it will be perfect time to finish supper and walk out to catch the fireworks)

Thursday 13th Animal Kingdom
Tuskers 8:05 breakfast
Yak& Yeti 1pm lunch
I think I may make a liberty tavern supper ressy for this night since this is when we are doing the Christmas party (not sure yet we may just eat at our resort again this night)

Friday 14th free day/downtown disney
trex lunch 1pm
ohana supper 6:50

So still need to make Sat and Sundays reservations

I hope we do not have to wait till Oct 1 for the ADRs for BMG to open up. I am very frustrated with planning this trip, holding off on buying our tickrts for MVMCP as I might have to change our day/date once the CP Pkgs are announced.

I so want to book dinner at BMG on our MK/MVMCP day/night as of now I have LTT booked. All this waiting is driving me crazy, not to mention waiting for FD or a room discount.

Welcome aboard...

One thing your little ones might like are all the decorations and life sized gingerbread structures at the different resorts. Another will be taking in some of the story tellers at World Shocase at EPCOT. You see how different cultures celebrate their December/Winter holidays. And there is Santa (for lap sitting) at DTD right outside and INCREDIBLE Christmas store.

I had the issues booking this morning too. "We've encountered and error", "We're sorry. Please make another selection", "We aee that you've been inactive for 30 minutes. You have been logged out." Quite frustrating. :badpc:

As for the reservations that you are not sure about, don't outright cancel them. Wait til you find 1 you like, book that 1 and then in the process, the dining page will prompt you if you want to drop the previous one. No need risking losing a meal all together. Bird in the hand...

Just received this from WL IPO:

We do want to make you aware that at this time we are unsure if Ft. Wilderness will be offering the Holiday Sleigh Ride this year. Since they have decided not to offer the Haunted Carriage Rides this year there is a possibility they will not offer the Sleigh Rides. We have noted your request for the experience and if it is offered we will book it for you.

I am so keeping my fingers crossed that the Sleigh Ride remains because we have never done it before and are really looking forward to it

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one. At first I thought I was doing something wrong. Ya I'm hanging on to what I have for now. LOL I've already made some changes in times and I have gotten that screen pop up so that helps.

Oh no I hope that doesn't happen! Crossing my fingers for you and everyone else hoping to have the sleigh ride.cpixiedust:

Can someone indulge my paranoia please?? I check in on 12/15 ... that means my dining window opens THIS Monday, 6/18, right??I am so worried I'll have it figured out incorrectly!!!

Also, anyone here eaten at Cape May? What are your opinions?

What about dinner at Akershus - is it good? We've done breakfast there several times, but never dinner.

Thanks!
Jennifer

Yes, you ADR day is 6/18.

I enjoyed CM for dinner. I love seafood. We are doing it again this year.

Akershus was good at dinner too. I loved the cold salad/appetizer bar. Princess interaction was awesome. They did not seem rushed at all. My mom and I had a great time. Doing it again this coming trip!

Alright, I'm going to join in the fun and share my ADRs as well!!

Day 1:
Cape May - dinner

Day 2:
Kouzzina - dinner before Osborne lights (I was toying with Mama Melrose, but reviews were better for Kouzzina)

Day 3:
Via Napoli - early lunch
Plaza Restaurant - early dinner (chance we might cancel Plaza if I can get an ADR for BoG. Or we might just do CS. :crazy2:)
*MVMCP :santa:

Day 4:
'Ohana - dinner. Wishes on Poly beach!

Day 5:
(If no BoG on Day 3 may do CS at BoG for lunch)
Akershus - dinner

Day 6:
Tusker House - lunch

Ok, I'll share mine too. Still not definitely - but I only have a few more days to finalize.

Day 1 (arriving mid afternoon): dinner 'Ohana
Day 2 (MK): Either BOG, CP, or Counter Service
Day 3 (Epcot): Biergarten
Day 4 (Animal Kingdom): BOMA
Day 5 (MK): BOG, Counter service (probably Harbour House), or Cape May
Day 6 (Hollywood Studios): 50s Prime Time Cafe
Day 7 (Epcot): Garden Grill, or Akershus dinner, or Kouzzina
Day 8 (checkout): Breakfast at Chef Mickey

For days 2 and 5 (MK), I'm going to go ahead and book some TS, but I will cancel if BOG opens

For Day 7, I'd like to try Garden Grill since we've never been, but I know we can't make reservations for that right now, so I'll make a backup.

I know I already said I'm going to be there December 27th - 31st
But now my trip has been extended by one day so now I'm going to be there
December 26th - 31st @ All-Star Music

Booked yesterday, got my ADRs this morning! :cool1:

Staying at Port Orleans French Quarter with me, my hubbie, my two daughters who will be 13 and 15 (who won't know about the trip at all until my dad drops us off at the airport!) and wee baby who will be 10 months old!

AND I just noticed the narrator list for CP - OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN for the day I have planned to go!!!!! [I know it can change, I plan to cross my fingers that NPH gets switched.... come ON pixie dust!!]

Reservations include Wolfgang Puck, Biergarten, Tusker House lunch, House of Blues (date night - having teenagers rocks!), Crystal Palace supper [on the day I am doing the Christmas Party!], Cinderella Table Supper [on the day we are stayed at MK till 1am], and Lilo and Stitch breakfast on the last morning. SO AWESOME booking this far in advance, not 3 months in advance when it is free dining for everyone :cool1: Got everything I wanted, just waiting for Coral Reef for the Candlelight Processional!

DISCLAIMER: my kids don't know and the hubbie is out of town a lot for work so any babbling and way over excited ramblings are not the fault of this poster :lmao:

Thanks for the CP update! Looks like we have Olivia NJ on our day, too. I was kinda hoping for NPH, but she should be good. I just hope to we get to see it!! :thumbsup2

Also, I started a PTR if anyone is interested! :goodvibes
