Ok trying to find an ADR for Fri 12/7 in the Epcot area (BC & Boardwalk included) My plans with friends fell through and they will be dining at CRT :confused3 Kinda bummed but overall this is a family vacation and well it is what it is. I was thinking of changing my plans entirely to go to MK for FLE and then try for BOG, however the practical side says go to MK in the AM while kids are still in school and at least try to avoid some of the locals - so I am sticking with Epcot. We have an ADR for the San Angel Inn but it was more my friends choice and not sure I want to go... Any suggestions? There will be 6-8 of us, a potential birthday and 2 are little kids....

I keep telling anyone that asks... I cannot recomend enough, the bringing of a hockey sweater/jersey. It's a light-weight windbreaker that is comfortable and easily fit in a bag/backpack or wrap around your waist. My Lucic and my 1980 Team USA sweaters came in real handy during our run in 2010.

We were there in December 2010 as well! We're New Englanders and the cold doesnt phase us... however we were totally unprepared. We brought light fleeces to wear for the flight down, but we wore light jackets during the day and at night we had to buy warmer jackets for DH and DD (I just sucked it up!), in addition we bought a blanket to cover her in her stroller. I remember wishing for a pair of gloves! I also wore my super warm Uggs down and ended up wearing them everywhere all week. I'm one of those people that is ALWAYS hot... not this time! The daytime weather was perfect IMO - but nights were definitely a little too cold. This year I know better to pack layers and a warm coat for everyone.

I've been stalking that page for over a month now. I've already committed to Olivia Newton John but I'm dying to know who Dec 17-19 would be. And now that James Edward Olmos isn't committed yet (and he's a pretty consistant narrarator) he'll probably show up 5-7 or 17-19. I really hope it's 5-7 so I don't regret committing to ONJ.

I always hear great things about dining at the Garden Grill, if you want a fun character meal with good food. Akershus is great too, but might be a hard ADR to get now. I love the SAI, so if you don't change your ADR, don't feel bad abot that. They have great food.

You gotta be kidding me!!!

They book and sign narrators on either side of our CP night (Dec 7th). And 1 of them is Andy Garcia...? How awesome would that be?

Arrrgggghhhh :furious:

Ohh... Sorry. Thank you SJS for the update.

We are going to MVMCP on 11th Dec.

I was thinking of booking the Dessert party to watch Wishes. If we do this, will we have time to leave there and hot-foot it down to Main St and get a spot for the second parade???

Or, am I trying to cram too much?

Just had to share - I've been following all of the fall RO discount threads. Up till now the rumor mill has been really quiet. But today two CMs reportedly said that AP and FL Resident discounts will be out by the end of the month. Take it for what it's worth, but I'm hopeful for this one.

I've been following the December code thread too hoping for a GP RO discount. That discount is better for us than FD. All this quietness :) is making me nervous! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Howdy!

Welcome to our new Roll Callers. I believe the Roll Call is up to date. To our newest friends, please refer to post #2. I have lots of helpful links there regarding discount history, ADR cancelled thread, etc. As important stuff gets discussed on here, I update post #2 so that way people don't have to scroll through all the posts on here.

For those asking about weather. Two years ago was COLD, last year was warm and more normal. The trick is to layer and to really check those weather reports just prior to leaving. While I would love a little chill in the air (hey I live in FL!) for that X'masy feeling, I also wouldn't mind some warm weather so I can enjoy the amazing pool at my resort.

Hi, Just wondering on everyones thoughts on whether the FLE area will be decorated for Christmas. I think it would be over the top if this was the case.
I also wonder if the FLE area will be open for MVMCP. I have yet to see any confirmation on that. I assume it will be. If it is I think we may schedule a second MVMCP since there will be so much to see and do.
Getting crazy excited for December!

The Disney Blog had a Christmas decorations video a few weeks ago and towards the end it mentioned that FLE would not be decorated for the holidays until 2013. So I don't expect any holiday decorations back there.

I suspect after the official opening on Dec 6 that it will be open during MVMCP. Maybe not the resturants but the little mermaid ride seems a likely candidate to remain open.

Well now after weeks of "I don't know" CMs are coming out if the woodwork to make predictions, ranging from the end of the month to mid-Sept. All of them seem to refer to AP discounts though. Not GP. So that part is at least consistent. But there were so many rumored dates that came and went last fall, I'm taking it all with a grain of salt. Unlikely to see anything this week or next week. After that, who knows.

I was excited to come on here this morning because I knew my ticker wouldnt say 4 months anymore. But 3 months, 4 weeks and 1 day seems a little ridiculous. :confused3

hahahahah Pick a different ticker style! Mine says 3m 23 d. Much more do-able! :rotfl:

I vote for 'it's trying to cram too much'. :) I haven't done either MVMCP or the dessert party before though so it's just my opinion, not based in fact. I plan to do the dessert party on a regular Wishes night since "in theory" the party night should have a smaller crowd fighting for a spot for the fireworks. Plus I really want to see both versions of Wishes and this is my way of convincing DH. :thumbsup2

That makes more sense. I really feel like I gained a day instead of losing one!! It's okay I prefer--17 weeks from Saturday. Sounds better than months.

I have heard that TBA does an amazing reading of the Christmas story. :rotfl2: Hoping you get an amazing narrator. pixiedust: It seems like Disney doesn't like to give us obsessive planners all the information. I am still bitter that I am going to fight for an ADR on Monday for a restaurant that I havent seen a full menu for yet. Would be crazy in the real world, but somehow it's normal here. :goodvibes

I try to think of different ways to "measure" the time until Disney to see how low I can get the numbers.

17 more weekends
8 More pay days
4 more federal holidays
3 more prescription refills
1 more car insurance payment
:rotfl2:

Oh that's great!!! Although the number of pay days could be depressing if the trip is not paid off yet. Speaking of pay days, can you tell I do not want to work today??? LOL

I agree!!! Also, because most people want it, I want it more now! haha. Group psychology at its best! :lmao: Has there been OFFICIAL word from Disney that 8/20/noon is the time? I still can't believe they would release an official date/time. I would think they would be secretive just to ease their ADR system.
