is there a cancel thread for december, I am trying to get a adr for ohana 4:30 dec 16 before xmas party, if not i have to stick to cape may at 4:30, if i do get ohana i will be doing cape may on the 13. I am just figuring it will save me time, but even with cape may, I should be at the party by 6. Were fast eaters!:rotfl:

Here ya go. A similar thread was very helpful for me in 2010.

The guy who was looking at availability looked at the wrong dates when he said Jambo was available :/.

I don't want to stay in Kidani for my first time at WDW...it's not (in my mind) as true of a Disney experience (in terms of environment, for lack of a better way to describe it) as is AoA/Jambo.

So, AoA LM it is (for now, lol)! We'll see how long this holds up, until something else catches my eye. My big debate now is whether to keep Liberty Tree, or try to trade it for BOG. I wish we could see a BOG menu...

In other changes, I'm pretty sure I'm dropping Akershus on Sunday AM. With Le Cellier as an early lunch, and Via Napoli for dinner, that's be a lot of food in one day. I just need to decide if we should do it Saturday for lunch, or skip it totally. I'm leaning towards skipping...an ADR on the day of arrival is a close squeeze, but very doable. And a princess lunch would be a great way to get in the Disney spirit. But that's a personal decision I can decide closer to the trip (I have ADRs for Sat lunch and Sunday AM, as of now)

And I'm usually on the other side of sharing with strangers. As a paramedic, I'm used to hearing all sorts of strange/unique/personal details from people I just met, in the back of an ambulance, trying to help them.

AoA should definitely feel more Disney!! I agree Kidani seems more secluded and quiet. Great anniversary getaway or something, not first Disney trip for 2 20 somethings.

I vote for lunch on Saturday. The timing works if you just focus on lunch and dont plan to do a lot of attractions in Epcot. I have heard the princess interaction is great there, but food is just okay. Oh wait, you said that's a personal decision. Does that mean you didnt want my opinion?? :rotfl2:

And I vote to try for BOG. Unless of course, you will be fighting for an ADR for the same night I want one. The less competition the better.

I am bringing a north face fleece nice and light but keeps me very warm, since it will be cold in NYC when we leave we will have some warmer clothes anyway, just in case we need them at wdw

We went in Jan last year. We took our lightest winter coats since we were leaving MD just ahead of a blizzard. We were cold going out but we didn't want to drag our heavy coats. And the coats stayed in the closet the whole trip. I mostly wore jeans. A couple days I took my sweatshirt for the early morning but it was around my waist by lunchtime. I'm pretty sure DH wore shorts the whole time. Hoping for a repeat of that weather. :)

This is a great thread! So happy I found it.:goodvibes I'm arriving on December 13th, staying at the Boardwalk Villas until the 16th, then switching over to the Villas at Wilderness Lodge until the 22nd, possibly the 23rd. So excited!!! I've been during December several times before, but this is a special trip for me, as I'm celebrating the end of my year of breast cancer treatment. What better way to celebrate than a trip to Disney! Have MVMCP planned for Tuesday, December 18th, and the CP for Thursday, December 20th, when Trace Adkins is the narrarator! Yippee!!!

PS What is the Facebook group, and how do I join?

I can't think of a better way to celebrate the end of that treatment. My sister in law just finished her's as well although she'll be on Herceptin for the next 30 years.......I think your stay will be quite magical (and your resort choices are perfect)!

Best wishes to your sister! As far as I know, I only need to be on Herceptin for a year, so my last dose should be right before Thanksgiving. I finished chemo in March. Just finishing up my reconstruction surgery.

Thanks for the positive reinforcement!:goodvibes

Oh, come on... It wasn't that cold in Dec 2010.

Everyone wears a football jersey over a hockey sweater while wearing a Santa hat, and/or a windbreaker over a hoodie with the hood on.

I'm just teasing. There were, however 3-4 days that were unseasonably cold. It was the lead story of the news every night.

Wonderful pic!

This is what is hard for me. We're going to have our coats with us anyway since we are from NY and used to the cold weather. But Florida is so different and unpredictable in December, that I don't know what to pack for us. Should I pack shorts just in case? The last 2 years have been colder than usual for Florida. So now I don't know what to do

We were last at WDW in December in 1997 but it was pretty chilly and I wasn't really prepared for that. We ended up buying sweatshirts to wear at least one of the days....I looked back to see what the actual temps were and 2 days in a row the low was 46 with the high temp being 64. We wore shorts most of our days so like everyone says, bring everything ;)

This year I plan on bringing a hoodie, a light-weight jacket that I can tie around my waist, jeans, capris, and shorts. I will probably only bring one pair of jeans and will wash them if necessary. I'll have short sleeved shirts and long sleeved. Of course, I will check out the 10 day forecast too. If it seems like Orlando is in a heat wave or conversely a cold spell, I'll adjust accordingly. I'm actually dying to buy a cute jacket I saw at the disney store (also have it in the parks). :) It would be a shame to have to buy some fun disney clothes at the parks because I didn't plan well :lmao:

Pack it ALL. This will be our 4th December at Disney (including 20 something temps in Dec 2010) and we've seen it all.... hot, cold, rain.......... and just right. Thankfully there's more "just right" than anything else. But our motto is "prepare for the worst, hope for the best".

This is what we are planning on doing...packing for every weather scenario and hoping we dont need half of it.

Joining in thanks to tropical storm debbie we are going from nov 29 to dec 2 to use two days of park tickets from june. We are also going to the christmas party.

My big debate now is whether to keep Liberty Tree, or try to trade it for BOG. I wish we could see a BOG menu...
Trade it for BOG! When else will you be able to say you were there during the premier of a cutting edge restaurant? I'm very excited for BOG.

We're doing the princess breakfast the same day as our Candlelight Processional at Tutto Italia (4:45). I agree with you that it would be a great way to start off your vacation and set the tone for magic throughout the week. Hopefully it'll work out that you will be able to keep it!

And I'm usually on the other side of sharing with strangers. As a paramedic, I'm used to hearing all sorts of strange/unique/personal details from people I just met, in the back of an ambulance, trying to help them.
I think this is the plight of healthcare workers. Sometimes it's more than you really need to hear ;)

I keep telling anyone that asks... I cannot recomend enough, the bringing of a hockey sweater/jersey. It's a light-weight windbreaker that is comfortable and easily fit in a bag/backpack or wrap around your waist. My Lucic and my 1980 Team USA sweaters came in real handy during our run in 2010.

Hi, Just wondering on everyones thoughts on whether the FLE area will be decorated for Christmas. I think it would be over the top if this was the case.
I also wonder if the FLE area will be open for MVMCP. I have yet to see any confirmation on that. I assume it will be. If it is I think we may schedule a second MVMCP since there will be so much to see and do.
Getting crazy excited for December!

Just had to share - I've been following all of the fall RO discount threads. Up till now the rumor mill has been really quiet. But today two CMs reportedly said that AP and FL Resident discounts will be out by the end of the month. Take it for what it's worth, but I'm hopeful for this one.

Really thought.... weather in the mid to high sixties would be perfect for us. Since it really is freezing hoping no snow storms around the time we leave or are due to return. It was pretty tame winter in Philly last year.

Small but great news for us. After trying to get a princess breakfast for the longest. I really wanted one befor park opening as to not take up too much park time. I really wanted to go to Epcot on our last day but the earliest times they had for princess dinning was 9:40. I kept checking and checking and I just now snagged a 8:30am woohoo, does anyone one know long it normally takes for the princesses to rotate around the tables.

Pencil us in for Dec.1-8. Was planning on being residents there this Christmas but life had other plans so this trip will have to be our Disney fix for awhile.

The blizzard freaked us out. We were seriously contemplating paying to change our flights to go a day earlier. We had already lost power and had to stay at my MIL's the night before we left. Of course once we were there we didn't care if everything shut down and we couldn't get back. ;)

I generally allow an hour for character rotation meals. It can be less, but since the restaurant is presumably full, probably not.
