We go early to mid December most years and the only year I rememer that is 2008 when all Holiday merchandise was 40% off.

It's more likely that you will have trouble finding 2012 merchandise. I think they have gotten more conservative about ordering dated stuff so they won't get stuck with it. So I now order my dated things off Disneystore.com in advance of our December trip for that reason.

Never fear though. You won't have any trouble at all finding 2013 stuff! :rolleyes1

I did the same thing this year! Already bought my 2012 ornament so I dont have to search for one like last year. Found a 2011 picture frame, but never did find a Christmas ornament. :confused3

So I am looking to book a room at a value resort for my mom's first night... We are staying at AKL on points and I'm trying to figure out the best resort to pick for one night. Pop and AoA are 11 bucks more than the All Stars - anyone have any suggestions? It's just one night, she will probably hang out at AKL with us until later and then we will pick her up in the morning once shes up and ready (she sleeps in so it will probably close to 11) Also - if the resorts have certain buildings - which one is the best for her to do the least amount of walking to her room when I drop her off and pick her up...

YAY!!! Thank you for arriving on Dec 31st!! LOL. I bet you never thought the group would be so happy to see you. Tofubeast can rest easy now. :lmao:

Thanks for the welcome everyone! and yes, i'm super excited that everyone is super excited i'm rounding out the roll call! :) we were gonna come down on the 26th, but the price in airfare was about a $400 difference flying from Newark, NJ so ... the 31st it is!

I'm finding that the DIS has more accurate information than the CM's or some TA's have.
HEY!!! I'm a Disney TA...I resent that :rotfl2: Just kidding.... DIS is full of awesome info :thumbsup2

Makes you think what an awesome Travel Agency we could create!! Travel Agents located everywhere, a great community to get info from, actual testimonials... :D
:grouphug: :thumbsup2

thought i'd post this here, if any one needs a tree for christmas Home Depot has just what u need, and its at a fairly decent price, but u have to pay the shipping.

WOW. :crazy2: Did you read the reviews? They are pretty hilarious!

Ok, so my boss said to go ahead and stick with my vacation!! I do need to change my dates a tiny bit....

So my new info....

12/1 - 12/9 PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE!!!!!!!!

:santa:

Welcome to the POR army. As the newbie, you'll have to carry all of the rest of the army's luggage and stop by Fulton's daily to pick up our purchases and pictures.

Oh yeah... Congrats on the new job. :thumbsup2

Well JLA... Looks like you're off the hook. We've found someone NEWER to do our menial labor.

Will be staying at POR Dec 10th-19th in a preferred room. This will be my 2nd ever trip to Disney and 1st at Christmas time. I am soo excited to be planning, the last time I was 12 - now 28 with a 2yo DS!!

It's always great to see new people jumping onto the December thread and staying at the Port Orleans-Riverside (in my opinion, the best resort). Now, I don't mean to scare you off. But you are now responsible for all the things that JLA was responsible for. As well as... Hmmm, let me see... AHHH! You also have to take the pics, of anyone on this thread, while they are sitting on a vacant Santa's throne by the Christmas tree. Yeah... That sounds good.

PS: You'll love the resort. :santa:

Great thread! We are staying at POR for our first trip Dec 10-16 ...2 adults and 3 kids! Super excited!!!

I haven't been on as much the last few days - my DD11 went back to school Wednesday so kinda been getting into the swing of school.

I see we have lots of new roll-call friends and a few doing their first trip to the World. How exciting :cheer2:

welcome everyone :)

Just a reminder to all the newcomers - be sure to enter our contest (details on the 2nd post of this thread) for a chance at winning a $25 Disney gift card!

I must have missed the original post by pequele, but I went ahead & made him/her a LGMH just in case it was still wanted ;) I'm also attaching blank one's if you guys don't want me to make you one!

Awesome, I was just thinking we needed a new tree for our house...but then I realized our ceilings are only 31' and I was worried we wouldnt have room for the tree topper :rotfl2:

Really, who on earth would pay that much for a tree :confused3

Add us too!!! We are headed down Dec 15- Dec 22 and will be staying at the Coronado for the first time. We have been to Disney MANY times but this is only our second trip in Dec. We will be celebrating my BIG 40 Birthday and it will be our last family vacation before our son leaves for college next summer. It will be myself, DW, DS, DS's best friend, DD, AUNT, AND COUSIN. My son's best friend, cousin and aunt have never been which is making this trip extra special. We are excited to see Disney through newcomers eyes. It makes it an even better trip! One of our favorite things is the Osborne lights and the snow. What could be more magical?

I would like to do the Dessert party on my MVMCP night, thought it would be a great way to watch wishes, fireworks etc.

My question is, will we have time to get from there to a good spot for the 10.30 xmas parade? Or, am I just trying to squeeze too much in?

Welcome aboard MrEVILdrPorkchop2u

And I agree with you. When you go with someone who hasn't been or hasn't been in a long time, is a real treat. ESPECIALLY at Christmas. And the marvel in their eyes when they are making a circle in place during the Osbourne Lights is like a gift in itself.

Thanks for the warm welcome here!

My DW cried when we saw the Osborne lights last time and I'm pretty sure she will cry again just watching our guests be amazed at the sight.
