December 2011 Code Watch!

And right now we don't have dining included in our package, so we have to re-book with dining and then apply the discount somehow? Sorry, this is my first trip staying at Disney as an adult! Just learning all this stuff! :)

Do you have a package with tickets or a room only? If it is a room only reservation, they will have to cancel and rebook you. They can not modify a room only and make it a package.

I was hoping for an AP rate for December. Has anyone seen any hints of one coming up? I don't normally do the dining plan, and AP rates save me more money.

Hi there,
Does it make sense to book this weekend and just add free dining to the existing reservation, or will that res be wiped out and a new one created that includes free dining? I'm just trying to save some time on Monday, should this wonderful rumor prove to be true!!!
Also, do we think this is going to be a release right to general public or be only for Disney Visa for a couple days? And lastly, any ideas on whether there will be a photo book requirement?
Thanks,
Tracy:cheer2:

So, what you're saying is don't book until Monday, but book first thing in the morning, should the dining be released. (knocking on wood veneer)

I noticed that you mentioned calling on Monday twice...the rumor is that free dining will come out Wednesday Aug. 3. I thought I'd let you know so you don't call Monday to check!

The only reason to book ahead of the deal is to make your ADRs at 180 days. Since that ship already sailed, it really doesn't help (except to make your pay up front ADR's with only a guarantee).

If you have a reservation already, they basically cancel it and rebook, but give you the same confirmation number. Having one ahead of time or not does nothing to increase your odds of availability when the deal is announced.

This is our first trip with the DDP... If our trip is Dec 14-21 and we already have our rooms and all dining reserved, first question is will we get the free dining our whole trip; second question is will changing our reservations mess up all our dining reservations we've already made? We have booked through a TA, but she is on vacation in Europe until next week so I'm not sure what to do?!?!?! :confused3

Yes, as long as your check-in date falls within the free dining promotion (which it does) you will get FD for your entire stay. Your reservation should not be changed - you will still have the same reservation number just the code will be applied and your total will be less.
You should contact the travel agency tomorrow and find out who has taken over your file while your agent is away - this is standard in any reputable agency!:goodvibes

If you booked through an agency they will have to be the ones to make the change. You can not call and make it.

This is the #1 reason I don't book through a TA - I hate not being able to call and change things myself. I am to much of a control freak I guess.

I never said she could make the changes herself - I said she could call the travel agency and have a different agent from the same agency contact Disney on her behalf because her agent is away on vacation:goodvibes

I would love to know too, we always get the dining plan, but the room discount works out way better for us

I was wondering the same thing myself since we are going 12/1-12/10. If FD comes out as rumored, then we will save a lot of money for my family of 3 (DH, myself and DS9). Good to know that FD itself covers the entire stay no matter when Disney offers it :thumbsup2

Still hoping for some pixiedust: that the rumors are true!

This verbiage from WDW made it easier for me to understand:

"To qualify for a 'promotion' your travel dates must **begin** within the promotion's offered dates. As long as you arrive within the offered dates of the promotion, you will receive the offer throughout your stay.

This only works for dining promotions though - for "room discounts" only the specific dates qualify - not the entire stay.:goodvibes
(I don't want people with room discounts getting confused thinking they got jipped:rolleyes:)

:crazy2: the anticipation is getting the better of me...lol.

Does anyone know if you can make a reservation for a day before you plan to arrive? How long does Disney hold your reservation for check-in if you do the precheck-in from home? I'm concerned that they may offer the free dining through 12/2 instead of 12/3 because of the Pop Warner week.

I am so glad this came out!!! We are checking in on Nov 30th for 10 nights. Does anyone know what time Disney opens the phone lines in the morning so I can start the calling on Wednesday?

Thanks for the information.

MousePlanet has reposted the rumor and added their own speculation (which is mirrored here on the Dis).

Can free dining be added to a room only reservation, or does it have to be a package with tickets?

We are planning our trip for 12/3 - 12/10, so I think our dates would qualify us for free dining.

Right now we have a room booked at the Dolphin for a pretty good price, so I would have to switch to a Disney resort at full price to get FD. We have already purchased our tickets through Undercover Tourist so we wouldn't be able to do a package.

I'm wondering if I should just keep everything as is and pay for food out of pocket or if it would be worth it to move things around. It's two adults and a 2 year old.
