December 2011 Code Watch!

Can free dining be added to a room only reservation, or does it have to be a package with tickets? We are planning our trip for 12/3 - 12/10, so I think our dates would qualify us for free dining.

Right now we have a room booked at the Dolphin for a pretty good price, so I would have to switch to a Disney resort at full price to get FD. We have already purchased our tickets through Undercover Tourist so we wouldn't be able to do a package.

I'm wondering if I should just keep everything as is and pay for food out of pocket or if it would be worth it to move things around. It's two adults and a 2 year old.

Minimum 2 day park tickets. If you have yours already, you can put these aside to upgrade at a later date.

You would have to purchase a package with tickets - FD can not be applied to a room only reservation.

We are going 12/3 - 12/9. if we changed to check out the 10th - would we get the dining free?

You would be fine with your original dates, as the blackout period starts the 4th and you would have checked in on the 3rd. This is all subject to Disney's whims though when the actual free dining plan comes out!

MousePlanet has reposted the rumor and added their own speculation (which is mirrored here on the Dis).

Just read the post from your link. We have the Disney Visa Card and I just called last week to have our Reward Dollars for August - December transfered over.

t-1...fingers and toes crossed...I really wanna do the happy dance...please let the rumor be true!! :worship:

We are planning a Dec 9-13 trip.. hopefully to the WL for the Christmas decorations!

In the past, has the room-only December discount code covered the dates we are traveling? I know that Pop Warner runs through the 10th, so I wonder if this has any impact on the dates that apply. Is the room-only discount code always 40%? Are there any pins or codes that already exist (i.e. 30%) that I am unaware of for these dates? Do people think it is likely that a room discount code will be released this month or will it just be FD? Should we just book a room at the WL at rack rate now and then adjust once a code (hopefully) comes out or simply hold off on making the ressie?

Ahh sorry-- so many questions! Any help would be MUCH appreciated since I am getting nervous about having to pay rack rate!

It's a tough decision. I was excited about staying at the Dolphin, but I could return my tickets to Undercover Tourist and book a moderate to get free dining and save about $1,000. My husband is going to kill me for changing the plans again, but it may be worth it.

Sooooo help me understand this post on MousePlanet:
"Days of the week – Last year's similar offer had the discounts run on periods from Friday through Thursday. This offer shows Sunday through Saturday. Since it's likely that people would be able to adjust their travel schedule to arrive on Friday in order to get the free dining, it's a reasonable bet that the actual dates will run from Friday through Thursday again this year."

The dates outlined on the "rumor post" showed the dates in December as

November 27, 2011 - December 3, 2011
and
December 11, 2011 - December 17

with the black out dates for Dec 4th-10th for Pop Warner week.

IF MousePlanet is right and the actual dates run Friday thru Thursday..... what would that do to these dates?:confused3

I can't see them offering FD starting on Friday Nov 25 (the day after Thanksgiving and going thru Thurs Dec 1 and then starting back up on Friday Dec 9 (before Pop Warner is over) and end it on Dec 15.

Maybe I just don't understand:rotfl: or maybe I am totally confused

Thoughts anyone????

Well my thoughts are that we all have to wait 13 more hours to find out what is going to happen. Right about now my daughter who is 4 has more paitients (sp?) than me.:sad2:

I get that this is a benefit to some but I really need my AP room only discount. Doesn't anyone have a rumor that would give me some hope that it is coming soon? :confused3

these rumor dates correspond to my bounceback offer just FYI.

I sure hope the rumor dates are correct. I have had my trip booked since April, checking in on December 16th. I am booked now with a PIN that I got back in March/April for 40% off value and 45% moderate & delux. I knew that was a good PIN offer so I went ahead and booked it but FD would save me an extra $645 since I have 2 rooms and 6 people going.

I'm a Disney Visa card holder so if we get it tomorrow, I will let everyone know. :thumbsup2

Is it likely that, if a December room-only code for the GP is released, it will entirely black out the Pop Warner dates? And even for the deluxe resorts where those teens will not be staying?

Does anyone remember if room-only discounts were blacked out during Pop Warner in past years?

We check in Dec 9th, so a little nervous about discounts not being offered until the 11th...

I am in the same boat as you... looking to book a deluxe resort that week... checking in on Dec 9th, and hoping for a room only discount. Fingers (and toes) crossed that it is not blacked out for the GP (or AP) room only discount!!!
