December 2011 - Christmas with Mickey!! Who's Coming Along and Planning Help Thread!!

We decided today to change our WDW vacation from Thanksgiving to Christmas! Planning on December 18-26 at Pop Century. This is a huge deal since we are breaking a million family traditions but looking forward to our family of four having new traditions.

Completely understand! Our extended family is going to be in shock that we will be at WDW from the 16th - 24th. We were originally coming back on the 23rd but decided to add one more day to the holiday trip. :goodvibes We are so excited and hope this is one of new traditions for our family of 5! :santa:

Ugh - now I am ready to go. We got our leg going to MCO a few months ago for $100 per person. We used Southwest awards coming home and paid $2.50 a person last week. We have our APs still, TiW card, MVMCP tickets for 2 parties and a little Christmas Tree for the room.

We are staying 11 days at our home DVC resort and I make ADRs on Thursday! That is the last step in planning the vacation and then I have to wait for 5+ months.

Thanks for all you do to help us Decemberians out. You are the best

Thank you for welcoming me here. Just wondering, what size tree is every one bringing? This is very exciting as now we get to decorate and have Christmas at Disney!

Hi everyone!!!!!!!

I just booked last night for us to go to Disney yet again for our yearly trip.

December 9th to December 23rd @ Port Orleans Riverside.

Now i'm hoping to get Free Dining or a good room rate to add.

Just got confirmation that our waitlist went through. We have been moved from BLT Lake View to BLT MK View!!!! Yippie!!! Get to look at the castle as we fall asleep now. Can't wait!! The only thing better would be if our waitlist came through for VWL. I've never stayed there and would love to see it Christmasfied!

We have a little tree that we bought in Disney our first Christmas there. Its maybe 2ft tall thinking its definatly closer to 18in though. I love telling people I let Disney do all my Christmas decorating. LOL

You know what I realized our first Christmas at Disney and away from extended family? I had NEVER really enjoyed the holiday with MY family before. There was always so much work and so much drama with my parents and sisters that I was always doing way too much and so stressed out. We came home from another horrible Christmas dinner at my parents in 07 and I told DH we are going to Disney next year. He said make it happen and that night I did. We figured we would just do it that one year so I could get a break but we loved it so much we've planned to do it every year and so far we have!

we're going to WDW december 6-12 w/ jk's parents & sister and staying at kidani in a 2 bedroom villa. (huge upgrade from last time when we stayed at POP) super excited! this is basically a do-over for me, since i was sick with the notorious norovirus 80% of our last (and my first) trip to disney. we also went in january last time and we decided to go earlier so we could get the full effect of christmas & go to MVMCP. AND jk's dad is having his birthday during our trip, so we're planning lots of great meals. since all the EMH were released for december and ADR's start happening for us in 7 days, planning has officially gone into overdrive!

My family will there for our annual Christmas at Disney Dec 14-23. :santa:

We will be there Nov 25-Dec 3. We'll be staying at YC! Very excited...our first time at an Epcot resort.:cool1:

I have a silly question.... Is the candlelight processional something that would be appropriate for a small child? My guess is no, but I thought I should ask before ruling it out.

It depends on a couple factors.... If you're going later in the season or later in the evening, temps could possibly be very chilly (varies from year to year.) If your child enjoys music or does well in church, you might be ok. It's slightly churchy with the readings and singing. I'd definitely compare it to like a Christmas Eve service. I'd also suggest doing the dinner package, so you don't have to stand in line as long and risk not even getting in. It is beautiful, though, and if you think your child can handle it, you should definitely do it!!

Ok, I don't know how I have missed joining a Dec 2011 trip thread, but I 'm here now. We are currently booked at Shades of Green Dec 19-26, but I am hoping to change that to Pop for 4 nights and SoG for 3. We stayed at Shades in April and it was nice, but I miss Pop.

I have a rough draft plan and a list of TS restaurants, ready to book on June 22.

Hey there PrincessSuzanne, looks like we ill be there at the same time and the same place!

It's my first Christmas trip, so can't wait. ADRs have made me completely crazy. Have figured out the major holidays ones (Christmas Eve, Day and NYE and Day, but that's about it so far.)

Any suggestions?
