December 2011 - Christmas with Mickey!! Who's Coming Along and Planning Help Thread!!

Vicki, that sounds like a really good plan, do you know if they have the Desert Party on Christmas Day? Am I correct in that it starts an hour before the fireworks? That would be an awesome way to end the day. What do you think the odds are of getting into the park at around 6:00 on Christmas Day?

If the MVMCP Parade is run during the day, what parade if any is done at night?

They have the electrical parade at night or Spectromagic if they bring it back.

I am not sure the time the party started. I know we got in line about 20 min before they told us to be there and we waited a little while. I know the parade had already started before we were seated for it. As far as the odds of you getting in at 6pm I am not sure I would chance it. You may be able to get in easily but if by chance its closed still it would really suck!

I know last year we did the Pirate Fireworks cruise on Christmas night. That was awesome!

My plan (fingers crossed) is to get an 8 or 8:30 ressie for BBB and the latest possible breakfast ressie at Akershus. I'm thinking if i can pull that off we should be good. I would do lunch but i'm a picky eater and the menu didn't have much i would eat.

We had a similar situation a few years ago. What I did was get the latest possible BBB appt at DTD the day before our princess meal, and then had them spray the heck out of my DD's hair. She slept on it just fine (I did remove the crown;) ) and in the morning, she put her gown back on and we went and had breakfast at Akershaus. Her hair didn't move at all!

They put so much glitter and hair goop on them, it'll stay for a few days if they don't get it wet.:lmao:

Just food for thought. :goodvibes

We do the Desert Party on Christmas Eve and we just eat a later lunch so we are not too full. Its on my list again for this year as well. Its awesome we loved doing it last year. DH is diabetic and I made sure it was noted on our ADR and they brought out sugar free stuff for DH. The manager was awesome. He was so good I made a point to write to Disney about him.

We did LTT around 2 last year for lunch and then the party. Great way to see the fireworks!

We were supposed to do the Dessert Party on Christmas night, but because DH lost his job, we cancelled. I hope they have it again this year, it would be a nice thing to do to celebrate our Anniversary, get a better view of the fireworks and the Memories Castle show, DH is fascinated by that.

I sure wish they would bring back Spectro Magic.

The one time we went to the Dessert Party, it did start 1 hour before the fireworks, but they asked us to line up about 15 minutes prior to that, so we could check in and we were shown to our reserved table.

Got my ADRs booked today. I'm sure they will change once the CP dates are released by it feels more real now. :goodvibes

Yea! We finally told our kids that we are taking them to WDW December 17-23rd. We've never been there during this time of year. We're staying at our favorite resort too............POFQ!

Bytheblood. Wouldnyou be so kind as to edit my date in the first post. We are now going December 18 through January 2.

Thanks for all you do to help us Decemberians out. You are the best

I have changed you...... (sounds like you wear diapers. LOL)

I have a silly question.... Is the candlelight processional something that would be appropriate for a small child? My guess is no, but I thought I should ask before ruling it out.

If your child will be restless, it is a long time to sit in the same place. If this is a baby, he/she could sleep.

Made my ADR's on friday and we were able to get an 8:15 BBB ressie at MK and a 10:45 breakfast at Akershus!!!!! :yay: :woohoo:

where is everyone eating for christmas eve and chistmas day?

I am planning on breakfast at Akerhaus on Christmas Eve and Crystal Palace for Christmas breakfast. We will probably have CS meals for the rest of both days.

Relatively new to the boards here.

We are staying at POP December 1-7.

This is my 2nd trip (first time was back in the late 80's), DH's 1st Trip, and DD's 1st Trip. I am pretty much saying it's my first trip too since I was so young, but I do remember some stuff. We are going for DD's 5th Birthday (12/5).

I have all my ADR's made and everything is booked and paid for. Now I am just waiting - ughhhhh this is killing me. Someone please tell me something else to plan! I am working on getting outfits and making an autograph book too.

I let me kids choose.... not sure that was a good idea. :lmao:

Eve - Chefs de France (DD's fave)

Christmas Day - Breakfast at 'Ohana (DH's fave)
Dinner at Via Napoli (DS's choice - 1st time there)

I get to book my ADR's tomorrow! So excited :hyper:, even if I have to get up at 4am. :faint:
