47 days for me... getting so excited!

We've driven from Illinois (Chicago exactly) a few times. We've never driven with children, but I can say that it's not that bad of a trip. Have you ever done it before? Let me know if you'd like any 'tips'.

Only three! The last time we drove from Chicago we had five and two dogs!! It was actually a 5 week vacation through the Southeast with two of those weeks at FW (We had a van towing a travel trailer). It probably was our greatest vacation. Getting there with the kids was part of the adventure. Have fun.

Now I don't feel so bad not being the only one from the west coast headed to WDW in December to see the holiday decorations!! Hope you got a better rate on airfare then we did out of PDX.

WOW, checked this thread out a loooong time ago, but can't believe how may additions there have been!! We are headed to POR (fingers crossed for a renovated AB room!!) December 17 - 26th. We will be praying for good weather, so we can make a 'quick' drive from SW Ontario. ADR's are all booked, just counting down the days now

I'm so happy to say we will be at POR from Dec 17- 23. It will be our 2nd onsite stay. Last time we stayed at ASMusic. I am so excited to finally see WDW at Christmas! My DS asked me the other day if we could do something really cool for his Birthday (which is in the middle of our trip)- he will be so excited to be spending his birthday at WDW. I just hope it is not to cold this year.

We are going to celebrate my 40th birthday & 13th anniversary! I am so excited!!! This will be our first time staying at a Disney resort. We are staying at Coronado Springs from Dec 2nd - 9th! I can't wait to see all the decorations at the different resorts. We went to Disney for our honeymoon but never really got to see anyresort decorations and didn't get to enjoy MVMCP. So this year should be really exciting. We just paid off our trip on Friday so now I can do my Happy Dance and start my "official count down!" YEAH!!!!

So.... does this mean we won't hear the great music in innoventions and Epcot entrance songs?? I love Christmas music but I really love the Disney PArks music.

We might even be neighbors. I'm hoping for a refurbed AB room also. And knowing my boys where there is a pool they are going to want to be in it no matter what the temperature!

Newbie here, We are DVC Members and will be celebrating Christmas at the World.. Our dates are : Dec. the 14th thru Dec. the 24th..
And we will be staying at the Animal Kindgom Lodge, Kidani Villas ( Split stay)
We will bring some family members from P.Rico and I just can't wait to take DD8 and DN7 to the BBB !!!!! Our DVC home Resort is SSR and I can't wait try AKL this time!! Can someone here tell me more about this beautiful Resort?? Just looking for advice.. Thanks in advance for your suggestions...

Using our Alaska miles and visa perks so airfare wasn't to bad. Have an AP and using DVC so cost will be fairly reasonable.

The area music is changed in many locations and will be Christmas music - at least that has been my experience every December.
