December 2011 - Christmas with Mickey!! Who's Coming Along and Planning Help Thread!!

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one going over the BUSY Christmas break! I'm scared to death! But, every year on Christmas day I'm wishing I were there, so I'm giving it a try! Hope I don't chicken out and change the dates.

Just a quick question. Exactly how bad will the crowds be during Pop Warner week? Our dates happen to coincide this trip and I read some TRs that say it's a nightmare and others say it's a great time to go. When we went in December way back in 2001 crowd levels were low but a lot has changed since then. Now we're spoiled by the mid-November emptiness.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

When we were there in 2008 we stayed at POR and there were cheerleaders there but we really only saw them when they were heading to competition or heading home. We never shared any buses with them and did not run into them in the parks. I think we arrived closer to the end of the competition.

Come on June 25th! I'm ready to make my ADRs! Bummed because I'm working that day and can't take the day off! I am trying to go in 2 hours late though, just to make ADRs first thing.

Im feeling the same way, but now that the kids are getting older and cant afford to miss school, we decided to give it a go. Plus we have never seen it at Xmas time and hopefully the decorations, feel and cooler temps will be awesome! Plus, there is nothing better than being at Disney!!

Count us in, we'll be at POR November 28th - December 4th, DH, DS 13; DS10 & DS6, celebrating my 40th along with DW, 1971 was a good year. We normally go the week before Thanksgiving for 10 days. It tends to get very busy as we get closer to Thanksgiving day, really hoping the week after might be a bit slower. Hate the waiting game, need something to pass the time between now and then, any ideas? We normally make countdown calendars, chains, trivia, whatever I can find to keep us thinking Disney. This time around is a little different as we are trying to keep it a secret from the boys until we are ready to go, I'm finding it very hard, we'll see how long I can last.

We are going for Christmas this year!! We will be there from Dec 22 - Jan 1st, we are looking forward to it!

We are doing a split stay, DVC members half time at AKV Kidani and have not booked second place yet because of DVC 7 month window for a non-home resort stay!!! We are hoping to stay at Wilderness Lodge for our second half stay!

We're at Kidani, too! I'm wanting to do a split stay also... hoping to get in at either BCV or BWV at the 7 mo. window.

Still doing split stay Yay! Kidani!! Stayed here this past Summer!! We loved it!! Alas, we decided to stay at Old Key West and not Wilderness Lodge!! We have not stayed at OKW and it will work out point wise for us better!! Looking forward to that 7 month window!!!

Count us in!!! We usually go mid-November and are a little nervous about our dates.... Dec 30 - Jan 7....so New Years Eve in WDW!!!! We're staying at SSR. Two families, 4 adults, 4 kids (Boy 10, Girl 10, Boys 7 & 8). Any advice welcome
