December 2011 Check-In

We are going for NYE, staying @Paradise Pier 12/30-12/31, Grand Californian Villa on 01/01-01/02/12. Can't wait!!!:cool1:

We are checking in on December 25 and checking out on Jan 2. Its our first trip to DL at Christmas and its a surprise for our 3 children!!!

I have reservations at Paradise Pier at full rack rate - UGH!!! Crazy High Rates ..... but I wanted to secure the room and hope for a good deal to magically appear so that I can cancel my backup reservations at Best Western Park Place INN. Really hoping to stay on site :woohoo:

Yes, all the deals so far seem to include the stipulation that you Finish your travel by the 24th. Doesn't work for us either. We do have a senior rate (traveling with my parents) and there are AAA rates available.

We're going to be there December 11-16 at the Paradise Pier. We have to pick up our daughter at Concordia University in Irvine after finals, so we decided we might as well make a vacation out of it!!!!!!:cool1:

What is the discount for AAA

Hey everyone! Been super busy with my Disneyland trip for the Half Marathon Weekend and my cousin's State Board exam. I'll update the OP in the next couple of days for sure!

We are flying in from UK on Dec 9th-14th then off to Vegas for a few days. Not sure where we are staying yet but probably Hojos again.

Getting excited. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

You would have to check it for the time you are going. When I ran it, it never came out as well as just booking myself with the senior discount so I never paid attention. I tried to run it, but there seems to be some problem with their web site. They had a meals thing going for a while, but it's only good for travel started by the 28th of September.

My DH and I just booked a quick trip from December 7 - December 9 at the Disneyland Hotel using the 25% discount with our Disney Visa.

DH and I have not been back to Disneyland since April 2010...mainly because we were more focused on our June 2011 trip on the Dream and to WDW. We have been to DLR (and now WDW) many, many times, but we've never been to DLR around the holidays. My in-laws may also join us, so that would be nice since we've never gone with them.

I called DL and got 10% with AAA. I didn't even realize they offered any type of outside discount....THANK YOU. 10% is better than nothing. Now to decide $284 for PP or $134 for BWPPI, decisions, decisions! Thats an extra $150 per day for staying on site!

I am turning 20 on December 17th and so my boyfriend and I are going december 1-4 to celebrate it!! we heard it is the least crowded weekend during the holiday season. any christmas tips? Be forewarned: Maybe December 1 and 2 will be quieter, but the Candlelight Processional should happen on the 3rd and 4th... so expect large crowds that weekend. But still, you'll have a great time!

Be sure to subscribe to our Disneyland at Christmas Time Superthread - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2612827 - as that's where we discuss all kinds of breaking news (if there is any) and information on the season. Also, we've been doing "theme weeks," where we focus on a certain aspect or highlight of the season in photos to sort of build anticipation and count down to the beginning of the holiday season, as well as showcase some details that might otherwise go overlooked. This past week has been Main Street week. The week before that was Reindeer Round-Up week. Tomorrow there will be a new theme for the week.

Plus, on Page 1 of the Superthread, the first 3 posts (Intro post, Table of Contents post and the Holiday Info post) have lots of information for you and maybe some ideas on certain holiday offerings you can enjoy!

I don't know that December 1 - 4 is the least crowded weekend. That may not be true. That's the weekend of the Candlelight Processional, and people have always said that the parks are packed for CP weekends. The only thing that may deter some folks from showing up is that dinner packages are no longer sold to the public for the CP, and to get a seat for the event you sort of have 'to know someone who knows someone,' or be at the right place at the right time, when the Cast Members hand out tickets to the public if there are no-shows.

But the CP looks to be a beautiful ceremony and many people will try to see it, so the parks could be very crowded.

The week immediately after Thanksgiving - into the second week of December - is the least crowded overall week of the holiday season, but weekends will always attract lots of people!
