December 2009 Code Watch

Okay, help me understand and crunch numbers...

I already have ressies from Dec 20-27 at ASMO... I made it weeks ago. I can't get my itinerary to show the nightly rate I'm paying...How do you know what you're paying per night??? I'm wondering if I can upgrade to a moderate for the same package price... How do I find out?

I don't know the details of your package, but assuming you just booked through Disney, with no discounts (AAA or Military for example) not a preferred room, 2 adults in the room you are paying $135 a night for the first 4 nights, and $145 a night for the last two + 12.5 % tax. (Standard Disney packages don't give you a discount on anything.)

If you have booked some other deal - I can't tell from the information you have given. IF you would like, PM me with # people in room (adults / children), the length and type of your tickets (ex: 6-day hopper) and whether you are in a preffered room or not, and I can break it down for you.

The tax is different at All Stars b/c it is in a different county with a higher tax rate on hotels. I read that somewhere once. I'm sure it was on the DIS!

Skier Pete - you are truly a nice and helpful guy!! Wow. I wish I had some math I could send your way to do for me!

Ok...I just did the math (but my math stinks) and it is really close...I actually think my PIN that I used is better than the latest rumored discount...I would save $187.94 BUT...I priced that using the posted $139/nt Wl rates, but we are currently booked in a Woodsview bunkbewd room. Plus we have insurance included in that $187.94 difference too, so it is really close...not worth the hassle at this point, I don't think.

Looks like no free dining for now: AP discounts typically match the Disney Visa discounts the next day...I suspect we will see the same public offers...unfortunately it doesn't beat our current 40 % off at a value. it's pretty good though, for those that didn't see it on the other thread:

Those rates listed are for Annual Passholders. You can also get those rates with the intention to buy an AP and just persent it at check in. The room discount might be enough to justify buying an AP since you only have to have one, not one for every person in your party.

There are rumors that a Disney Visa deal is in works, possibly free dining, possibly as soon as tomorrow or Friday. Keep an eye here - this is usually where you get the first word on new codes. Hopefully you will be able to call and apply the code to your existing reservation!

We just booked POR for the same week you'll be there! We've only stayed at POFQ, but we wanted to try POR this time. I had my heart set on WL, but nothing was available, but now that I'm looking at all the POR pics and info, I'm getting excited! :yay: Have you ever stayed there before??

thanks- we have never been to WDW before and are taking the kids on a suprise trip for #1's 5th birthday. I am very excited and planning the details will consume me for the next 5 months. I cant wait. Would have loved to stay at a monorail resort, but its just not in the budget this year. WDW is expensive for a short trip like ours. I would love anysort of discount i can get. I think our 4day, 3 night trip (3 day tickets, NOT parkhopper + dining) is about 2200K. A retroactive discount is just what i need right now!

We stayed at POR in Jan 2008 and loved it!! Even though it was rainy, it was beautiful. We stayed in one of the mansions and it was a nice walk across the bridge to the food court and main building. It has a nice pool and you can use POFQs facilities and take a boat to DTD. The food court is really pretty good - lots of options.

:welcome: to the DISboards!! :)

It is definitely true the longer you stay the better "deal" you get for each day that you are there...

I do think you should be able to hopefully book a deal...just stay on this thread and we will let you know as soon as we see something! :)

You must be staying deluxe. We are booked at CSR for 6 nights with base tickets and DDP for about $100 more. We are staying over thanksgiving so part of our trip is holiday rates.

staying moderate. and sorry my quote is misleading. it also includes airfare for 3 from NYC: approx $240x3. meal plans for 3. my kids will be almost 5 and almost 2- so the little one is still free.

If the rates are offered to the General Public on Sunday would you be able to add tickets and the dining plan to make it a package?

Just joined and want to thank everyone for all of the info on here. I had no idea about all of the different deals, codes and PINs.

Well I actually got a PIN for free dining for the dates I wanted (Nov/29-Dec/6)! This will be our first family trip to Disney World!

I have been hoping for free dining, but I have a question in case that doesn't pan out.

I was emailed a pin on 4/30 for a buy 5 get 2 free offer. We had already booked a 5 night vac, so it was a no brainer to add the two on to it. (we subsequenly added one more day to it a few weeks later for a total of 9 days/ 8 nights.)

So, here's my question. What if they only come out with a room discount for December. Could I cancel my existing reservation, rebook the vacation with the reduced room prices and then re-apply my pin that I got in April? I'm guessing not because that would probably be double dipping, but there's no hurt in asking here, right? I don't even know if a pin from April would still be good.

If I can't, I'm about the same with the reduced rate as with the pin, except the pin came with an $100 gift card. So, I would be a little bit ahead.

We are also a family of 3. I guess the airfare is the difference! We are driving.

Welcome and congrats. We will be there 11/26-12/2 and still hoping for some kind of discount!

We're going Dec 5-12th and staying at the Poly. A discount sure would be a welcome thing!!! I'm praying hard for a Visa discount comming our way!!!

If the rates are offered to the General Public on Sunday would you be able to add tickets and the dining plan to make it a package?

AP holders can add the dining plan to this offer without buying tickets. It's not clear if a general public code would really be a room only or whether it can be a discount on the room part of a package.

You can only get one discount at a time. A general public code is a discount, and so is a PIN. You cannot use them both on thet same reservation.

Anything new on codes today???? The special offers page at Disney hasn't changed, but I wondered if anyone had heard anything new... :confused3
