December 2009 Code Watch

ok, I'm going to call for a code check. Do you just call reservations?

Well, I did try reservations just now and the CM (who was very nice) however, said I would have to give her a pin code :sad2:.

I did this yesterday myself. The first CM gave me a long spiel how they cannot look for pincodes and that I need to have one to give to her to go any farther.

Then I called a second time to another CM and I changed my story a little. I explained that some people have been given a courtesy look very recently and I so badly want to go but I need a pincode to do it. She granted me a look. Whether she looked or not, I'll never know but she came back in the negative, no code for me. I have a trip booked with a lesser code for December; so, I may not get any more codes because of it.

I have another post, here asking those who have gotten a code to report where they live. There have been about 60 responses so far. Anyway, I know some people won't answer the post, but when you think about it that is not that many people receiving a pincode. Your odds of getting a pincode is not good; I'm afraid. I do feel we will get an offer from Disney but it won't come to at least August time. Last year they released an offer for late fall and winter in September.

If you have other e-mails to register at Disney that could increase your chances of getting a pincode. Another way is to register for your birthday pass. Sometimes for your month of your birthday you will get a discount offer. Again, register as many people as you can for it.

Thanks, I do have several emails and have vacations saved but never a code for me. I hope something comes up.

Oh crud! I just called and spoke to a very nice CM named Martin who looked up my name, address and email addy and then told me that there weren't any pins associated with them. Blah. Poo. I'm registered all over the place, have saved vacations and birthday registrations for DH (Nov.) and me (Dec.), and a Visa card. Just gonna wait patiently....uh huh. :sad1:

I am also waiting for a code. I asked them too look it up about a month ago when I called and they asked how many times I had been and then said nothing was attached to my name. I am registered everywhere and I don't know what you have to do to get a code!!! I take comfort that I am not alone. I hope we all get one!

I guess those of us who haven't gotten codes (yet!) are in the majority but sometimes it sure feels like everyone else has one! I hope we all get one too...wouldn't that be nice? :)

Hang in there! I was in your shoes and my patience was definitely wearing thin until two days ago when I finally got a FD pin. The pin was definitely tied to the vacation I had saved on the Disney site since the email specifically mentioned that I had been looking at accommodations on the site and had not yet booked. So my advice is to go on the site once a week or so and either update your saved vacation or do another one (both of which I did a few times.) Good luck!

do you think it matters if you have already paid for your trip? WE have ours booked and paid for but I would still like a dining pin:rolleyes1

It would be amazing! Hopefully a code will come out soon or something!!!:confused3

I just went and fiddled around with my saved vacations, changed this and that, deleted one and added another....now maybe someone will notice. ;) Thanks for the good luck wish.

I went in and changed my vacations up too. Maybe this will change up my Disney Karma!

Well I sure am glad I called to check last night! I have two emails registered with Disney, mine and my husband's work email. Guess which email received the FD pin???? Not mine! Either he deleted it or "forgot" to tell me. Too bad though, I booked CSR for Nov. 29 - Dec. 5, the only time he said he would go back due to the excessive heat and crowds, with the FD which saved us almost $1200.00.

I'd love to know the answer to this as well....when we booked in february, for this coming december, the deal we got was good...but not nearly as good as what's getting thrown around now. I've not gotten a pin yet and my wife (who used a pin on the original booking in feb) hasn't gotten one either....so my guess is that they likely don't throw pins at people with booked vacations.

But I've tried to stir some reaction by saving vacations at the various sites and registering my email (which is not the email used on our original vacation)....

I'll be in touch if anything changes....

regardless, I'm quite tempted to call them and discuss our current reservation. I feel that the deal we have is a mediocre one, now that I crunched the numbers. I think it might be worth it to call them and really go over each detail with a fine tooth comb...

I don't know about if you've paid or not (like a PP asked), but they will definitely send pins if you've already booked a vacation. We already had our vaction booked and my sister received a pin about a week & a half ago. It is for free dining. While the offer appeared to only be for a family of 4 (two adults & 2 kids) staying at a value, she called and they applied it to my sister's reservation (just her and her DH) and ours (three "adults" and two kids) because our ressies are linked, and we are staying at Poly.

Good luck to everyone who is waiting!

BTW, she had only ever ordered the planning dvd (twice) and has never saved any vacation quotes, itineraries etc.

The deposit is paid. The rest of the trip doesn't come due until sometime in October...so obviously, I'm not going to part with the cash any sooner than I need to.

What I need to do is call them and get someone on the phone who can itemize and discuss exactly what 'deal' we got. My wife doesn't remember what the pin code was for (it wasn't free dining)...but after running some regular quotes, it doesn't seem like we're getting a huge savings. It's a savings...but not a massive one, in my opinion. I'd like to know, so I can compare apples to apples...

My trip has been booked since last August and I just recevied a PIN for free dining also. I had received the email stating that it was for a standard room in a value resort - but they applied to it my family suite! We were also able to apply it to the two other premium rooms for the rest of our Grand Gathering.
The CM told me that it can be applied to up to (3) rooms as long as the person who the PIN was assigned to is in the travel party.

The PIN email was sent to a second email address that I recently added under my husband's name - so that may have been what promted it email? I have been registered on the site for a couple of years and have never received a PIN code. I have even called asking if there were PIN's attached to any names of the travel party.

So I am not sure if there is any ryme or reason to the PIN's. Good luck to everyone out there still waiting! I am hoping all these PIN's mean that the expected crowds are lower? Though when I called to apply the PIN the CM did notice that our rooms are not standard and made a comment that there were no more standard rooms available? So maybe that it why they let it be applied to the rooms we already booked?

Good luck everyone! Sending good thoughts for everyone still waiting!
