December 2009 Code Watch

Does anyone know if Disney has ever offered a discount for those who check in at the end of the year, say Dec. 30th?? It's my husbands birthday & I don't want to change the dates. I have a diver lined up for that evening at Coral Reef. Are we just in the hole where no offers come?? :scared: :sad2:

Typically, no. The week between Christmas and New Years is the single busiest week at Disney all year, so it's usually rack rate holiday prices. Now, I suppose if the economy continues to sour to the point that things got really bad, they might consider a discount -but I'd worry about what other things Disney would cut if things got that bad!

Ok, I'm booked. December 3-13 and hoping for a code. We're going during Pop Warner so I may not get one for those days but maybe for the few before and after. :worship:

I'd like to join in, too, just trying to convince DH to get on board for another Disney trip--we just did one in mid-October. :rolleyes1 But, it was only 4 days (a long Columbus day weekend) and I really want to go again for holiday decorations (went in early Dec. of '06).

Thinking about a land/sea package. Are those a good deal, or is it better to book room only, wait and see if a code will come along, and book cruise separately down the road? Any thoughts?

Hoping for December 2009! Really want a great deal. Can't wait to see WDW @ Christmas time.:rotfl:

My sister-in-law told us a couple months ago that she wanted go with her husband and daughter next December and she just assumed that we would go with her. I have to ask her soon if she is serious because I need to save and plan, plan, plan. Not to mention now that I have thought about it, I really want to go. We went in Dec 2006 and I just loved it. I don;t think there is a better time to go to Disney than at Xmas.:santa:

I am planning a mom, daughter and grandaughter trip for the end of Novemeber into early December and I just got a 40% off card in my mail. We were thinking of maybe doing a disney cruise instead of a onsite visit but I don't think I can pass up on the 40% discount.

Count us in! Very 1st trip to Disney!!!! I welcome any and all suggestions and feedback.

We're planning on going Dec. 11-18th, 09. We are thinking about WL. Does anyone have any comments on it?

Also, is it best to book reservation directly with WDW or a travel agent? IS there a difference on discounts by going either way? We do have AAA and Disney VIsa.....I've read it's helpful to have those???

Sometimes discounts are the same and sometimes they differ. For each way you have to save, you just have to research. AAA usually always has a discount going. Disney Visa will sometimes get you discounts faster than waiting for them to be released to the general public and sometimes there are discounted privately mailed to Visa holders randomly.

If you book through AAA and a better deal comes up through Visa, your agent can change it for you.

It's a tad confusing but it keeps me busy! :rotfl:

Subscribing as well.

Planning our (myself, daughter, mother, and possibly my brother) first trip to Disney - hopefully in December so I can enjoy the Christmas decorations as well. So, any means of saving would be welcomed!

Count me in also. Please help me... 12/15 - 20th, 2009. The reason I started this post so early is because I am taking my 18 year old daughter to the "World" We will be staying at the Pop, 4 day park hopper plus BD.
I also would like to have the disney flower shop deliver a mickey/minney with love package. Right now it is $275 and would just love to have a code for it. Also I would like to suprize her with a Mother/Daughter Spa at the Swan on our last night there, again would like a code.
If no codes for these 2 things I would just love free dining. So everyone please help me with my suprizes for my daughter who has never been to disney.

I've never seen codes for anything but dining, packages and room only. But if you get one of those it makes all those extra things more affordable! I'm hoping for a code as well since we are going to try a tour and MVMCP. Those are expenses we usually don't have.

We are looking at going to WDW Dec 09. I want to stay at the Contempory but not sure if we want to spend that much on a hotel. Anyone with codes to save money ?

You can be sure some kind of discount or deal will come out later in 2009.
If you book now you can always apply the discount later.
Our last 2 trips we used Small World Vacations and out TA saw discounts and applied them before I knew they were ou.
IMHO Small World has great service for Disney travelers.

I see that people get in the mail 40% discount. I just got back 12/2 -12/7, 08 and this was my first time back since 1988.
does anyone that that maybe I will get one also? And discounts will be very much helpful.

Pin codes by email and regular mail are totally random. No rhyme or reason to them. :)

According to Mousesavers, 2008 discount codes for December began to release in August. So I'm guessing sometime in August of '09 we'll see discounts for next December unless we're lucky enough to get one of those codes by email or snail mail. :worship:

Hey group-

I've reserved room only at WL for 12/11-12/20/2009 and received the AAA discount. I've read threads about AP discount, dining discounts, and discounted packages.

Question - Are AP rates automatic and can you book with AP instead at reservation?, or does the AP rate come out in specials? Regardless, are the AP rates lower or higher that AAA rate? I just don't understand it all yet......thanks for your comments :confused3

Crossing my fingers for a Dec.09 deal. Nothing beats WDW with all of the beautiful Christmas decorations up.:cloud9:
