December 2008 Brides?

We are 12/9 at the Swan.

Our colors are black and white with hints of silver and a soft pink, which is not very Christmasy, I know. I'm kind of going toward a sparkly/snowy feel and I do plan on using a touch of holiday decor. I don't want too much as I don't want all of our pictures to look like Christmas pic...just a few...

Good luck!

Oh my goodness ladies! We are 2 months and a few days out! (In my case 2 months and 1 week!) I can't believe it! In one way time is moving so dang slow but in another it is going so fast!

Oh my goodness! Going to my happy place! Cinderella's Castle while it is being lighted with Christmas lights while you hear "When you wish upon a Star" playing. Soooo Happy! :santa: princess:

My oldest son is getting married December 15 at the Yacht Club! He's counting down the days. Just found out that his brother WILL get leave from Iraq in December but don't know the dates yet! Send pixie dust his way so that he'll be here on the 15th!!

Crapballs! OK let's add Rings to my list! Doubt it will get done in the next 2 weeks but we should probably go by this weekend!

Definitely with you on eating to many sweets. The one thing I have going for me is that I'm a diabetic so no Halloween candy for me for the most part it makes me sick. . . OK but a small snack pack of m&m's won't kill me now and then! But now and then out of nerves is becoming a little to much! I found a dress for my rehearsal dinner when we were looking at bridesmaids dresses and the cost was the same as if we would have purchased one in a store so I went for it. No biggie there.

We need to go in person for our marriage license in NY.

Wedding jewelry, hmmmm I've been thinking chandaleir earings and that's all.

Garter is being sponsored by my MOH as my something blue and borrowed! ;)

Also just thought about music in the last couple of hours and rethinking my processional. I really want to have Ding Dong Merrily on High to walk into. A friend of ours is going to play it on a bag pipe. I also read on another board a person have Joy to the World as their recessional which I love! What do you think?

I love this idea --

"Let's keep each other in check, ladies! We're almost there! *breathing into a paper bag* "

Although I think I am way way ahead of everything... Oops :rotfl:

7. Hairstyle decided! Trial at the end of Oct and then again in Nov (she is my future sister-in-law so this one was easy)

10. Tuxes Decided and all but 1 (my brother) fitted
11. Bought Dress for RD - no fitting needed :cool1:
12. Picked out Bands and Paid for -- Whoo Hoo

In the next 2 weeks We are /I am:
1. Shop called me about second fitting for gown --- need to schedule
2. Getting Marriage license!!! (because we live in florida we have to go to courthouse, will not mail out -- poop)

8. Calling all the terds that didn't RSVP -- shame on them
9. Working ( I am teacher at a local high school --so it never stops) -- oh wait I did it again! - Ok lets change this to -- Putting in for the days off for the Wedding and Honeymoon

I am sure there is more that I will doing -- but all I can think of anymore..

Ladies have a wonderful Monday!

I'll play... even though reading your lists made me nervous! :lmao: ;)

1. Invitations - We're making them... soooo... I still have to print them, the design is finalized. I have a deadline of Oct. 14 from my mother, so I've got to get moving! I've gotten the Disney stamps from the Post Office though... :thumbsup2
2. RD at O'Hana's is booked! :thumbsup2 We're also doing a Welcome Cocktail party in my parents suite at the Beach Club.
3. Cake - Flavors need to be decided upon... :confused3
4. Ordering a grooms cake from Publix and friend is picked that up.
5. Honeymoon payment is due Oct. 16 I believe, need to doube check that.
6. Centerpieces are decided upon and my mother who IS Martha Stweart is making them. They are for our Dinner Reception at Shula's Steakhouse.
7. Hairstyle NOT decided upon, but booked Beaute Speciale for the day of hair and makeup.
8. Upgrades in floral for SBP have been talked about and decided upon through Rosie at Disney! :thumbsup2

In the next 2 weeks We are /I am:
1. Deciding on a Suit - We're doing that in 2 weeks
2. RD dress - Since we're doing the cocktail party first, I need a good looking outfit. Must find in next month.

5. Having FL Bridal shower - next month so not in two weeks
6. MUST PICK OUT WEDDING RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!
7. Buy garter
9. Wedding jewelry

Thanks for keeping me on my toes, ladies! I need it! :worship:

I finally feel like I've got enough stuff done to post - hooray!

1. Invitations - Not doing invites. Oh my! ;) I included the "invite" in the newsletter that went out in June. First page... RSVP by 9/30. However, I little miffed that I still haven't heard from 1 party... and it's the grooms brother! Slackers. ARGH! (We're an escape)
2. RD - None... although I did get a Wishes cruise going for a select few. Who actually RSVP'd.... :rotfl: okay, I'm over it.
3. Cake - Still deciding. He doesn't care, isn't a big cake guy, me however, I love sweets and so this is really my decision.
4. Grooms Cake - I suppose the above answer is a good cover for not doing this.
5. Honeymoon - Booked before we booked the wedding. We decided to wed in the world AFTER we decided to honeymoon there!
6. Dinner Receiption - Reserved for Fulton's Crab House, we're at about 21 people now... however, my initial thought was that Pleasure Island would be a good "after spot", goodbye PI! (Not that I have ever been there, but alas, I've read enough)
7. Hairstyle/Makeup - I have long red hair, so I'm hoping to be able to do something like Giselle in Enchanted. Not the poufy-do, the running around Central Park singing do. I'll be doing the do myself, so who knows what will end up happening. Typical makeup, maybe add some lashes or something.
8. Floral - I finally figured out the colors, Navy/Royal Blue and Bright Yellow. So I'm thinking yellow flowers with little tiny blue flowers... of some sort. Yes, this is how I plan to describe it to my planner as well.
9. Suit - We tried on tuxes this weekend, resulting in the decision to put him in navy blue vest, creating the beginning palatte for our colors. I wanted the sexy model man suit at Carolyn Allens, but cannot find it locally to have my dude try it on. (My mom said the model is Hally Barry's hubbie?)
10. License - I send in the initial form to Brevard County for license by mail. They are so awesome, the dude actually called me to warn me about the notary practices here in CA. SO Sweet! He said they'll start the process 2 months out.
11. Rings - I am not doing a wedding ring, cause my E-ring is so awesome and I'd have to get a custom band to work with it. So, whatever. We bought his a fews weeks ago and picked it up this past weekend! Sparkle sparkle.

TO DO
1. Wedding worksheet. I'm a planner, and most of my people aren't. I want to know where they'll be and when we're picking them up and what they plan to wear RIGHT NOW! In the nicest way possible of course.
2. Dress fitting - technically, I don't fit in my dress right now. My brillant plan to loose the weight faltered because I have zero impulse control. Never fear, I am excellent under last minute pressure. HELLO rice cakes! (Actually, the little mini ones are so good, caramel yum yum yum) But all I need is to get it bustled anyways, probably do that in November.
3. Wedding jewelry - ehh, I suppose I should start looking into that. My friend bought me the little mickey head necklace that Mervyns head.. its all delicate and sweet, so probably that and something else. I got my mickey head tongue ring though! I'm classy.
4. Bridesmaid dress - I've got 1 bridesmaid, so now that I've decided what color she'll wear (navy), we are just going to go dress shopping at Macys or whatever. Girls Shopping Day! Whoo hoo!
5. Vows - gotta figure out what we wanna do there. We're not the "til death do us part" type, so I've got to figure out what we wanna do with that.
6. Garter - no way!
7. Bridal Shower - no way!

Wow, not too bad. This was fun! :dance3:

Wow you have all accomplished so much! Loving the lists because it reminds me of things I have blanked on! You go girls!:woohoo:

Usually I have a check list and I need to get back on track with it so I can cross things off and redo! I didn't sleep well last night thinking about everything!:confused3 DF must have said 30+ times last night "We're getting married in 2 months!" OK, he was trying to be cute, and he really was being cute but after a while I was a little hyper.:scared:

Need to email the band today to see when we are going to meet up with them again as they are in Ireland! Crazy:shamrock:

DF is in grad school and won't have a big chunk of time off til he's done (we want 2 spend 2 wks in Disney for wedding and honeymoon).
