December 2008 2008 ADR Wanted/Trade/Exchange/Cancelled

Hi! If anyone is cancelling a character breakfast, we need a reservation for 9 between the dates of 12/9 and 12/15. I can't believe how fast reservations fill up now!

Please email me at babygoodbuys at gmail dot com if you can help me out. There are six kids who would love to do this!
Welcome to the DIS!!! You should call, call, call Group Dining every day twice a day between now and when you leave. If you are flexible on your dates/time/restaurants then you just might be able to get something. Do call GROUP DINING for your party of 9. They may be able to to work a little magic that the regular agents cannot. Good luck!

I just called, and these were already gone (others may be already gone as well).

12/20 LTT is already gone too. I've been trying for that for weeks now, thought I had a shot, and someone still beat me to it :sad1:

I'm so sorry I wasn't able to post them on here first. I was on the phone for awhile with her getting the ressie changed to May and I was hoping she'd forget to ask about dining ressies. But she did and I couldn't think of a way to ask her to hold them...

How weird, i just called and the 4:05 was available but they wouldnt let me schedule it for 5, only for 4.

Hmmm, my notes say it was for 5. Maybe I had it wrong, but it was supposed to have been for 5. I wonder what would've happened had I showed up with 5 and they said it was for 4. :confused3

Hey, no worries, of course. It's a bummer they were gone, but thanks for trying to give us a heads-up!

I picked up this reservation. Bummer that you had to cancel your trip :(. Thank you for thinking about us! Now I just have to adjust my plan to fit it in.

Yay! I'm glad someone was able to get something. I'm kinda bummed myself as I was looking forward to Free Dining and eating at places we normally don't and especially the Candlelight Processional. Oh well, Disney will be there for other Christmases. :) We are able to go a couple weeks later from New Year's into January, but will do counter service and no CP. :( On the plus side, I was able to get my ressies moved to a later date in 2009 without losing any money I paid in. :cool1:

Have fun on your trip!

P.S. I was born in Madison and still have relatives that live there. :goodvibes

Anyone have a Tusker house for 5 on Dec 17th for breakfast.. I can trade a Tusker house on the 18th for 1015..OR I have a BOMA breakfast on the 17th at 845am. That I can trade.
I'm also looking for either Crystal Palace or Park Faire for late lunch or dinner on the 16th.

Hi fellow Disneyphiles! I'm still looking for a last day of our trip breakfast tradition request at Chef Mickeys! If anyone is going to cancel CM breakfast for 3 on Dec.28th, we would love to have it! :goofy:

Also, we have also called in vain for a candlelight processional for party of 3 on 12/24 anytime at Tutto Italia for months! If anyone is going to cancel, please let me know! pixiedust:

Thank you, thank you for your consideration of these 2 requests! :worship:

I don't come empty handed, I have the following to trade (all party of 3): :flower3:

If anyone is cancelling.....please!

Hi All-I don't know about the rest of you, but I am really tired of having to fight tooth and nail to get a meal reservation. I feel sorry for people that don't know that you need to get reservations early. I have been going to Disney at Christmas since 1990 and we NEVER had to go through all this. Even 2 years ago it wasn't as bad as it is this year. I was hoping that with the economy it wouldn't be as bad. With all this said: We unfortunately have some last minute plans and need something for the following dates and places:

Any place - Any time at for 4 adults

Epcot - 12/27 through 12/30
Disney Studios on NYE

I sure hope someone can help. I will be forever grateful.:worship:

It's primarily due to the popularity of the Disney Dining Plans. Most people ate counter service the majority of their trips, now they are booking ressies. With the Deluxe plan you're booking 3 a day even. Plus, many regulars have learned to overbook then cancel as the days get closer.

I have been calling everyday, sometimes twice aday, to try and add a night on to our stay, so I check for dining reservations too, just in case NYE in MK pops up, today they offered several different times for the 5:00 processional package for eating around 2, during your dates, I actually just booked a Le Cellier dinner for us, just keep trying! Also, Epcot is running a special buffet on NYE, don't know about the studios, try asking if they are, only once did any of the CMs tell me about the Epcot Fantasia NYE buffet when no other Epcot restaurants were available.

{shrug} Honestly, I have gone from just before Christmas through the first week of January (with a family visit around Christmas) since 1999 and it's bad every year. I made my NYE reservations at the 180-day mark and I've had the rest of my reservations for a few weeks now. I'm just hanging out in this thread in case something "interesting" comes up. Last year I scored a NYE reservation at Mama Melrose just about this time so it can happen :). Don't give up hope!

Hi friends!

Looking for 12/15 CP for Le Cellier, San Angel Inn or Tutto Italia. Need it for the late showing since I will be in my conference until 4:00 and will be alone so only need it for one!

Thanks to all who read this! I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

Jay

This will be my 4th Christmas/NYE in a row(2005-2008), and my 7th overall(2001-2003). I remember it being really bad in 2005. We decided then though that since we enjoyed going we would plan ahead. It was too busy to try to walk up or anything. This year we're doing the DxDP and we made our ADRs 180+10 out. Now we're trying to change a couple of things, and it's hard, but just keep trying, and remain flexible. I know a couple of weeks ago I could have gotten Brown Derby for Dinner on NYE (we'll be at DHS as well), but BF decided to go with Mama Melrose instead.
I really think the Dining Plan has made it harder to get reservations so close to a date. Last year was the first time BF got to try DDP and he decided that for busy times it really is the only way to go. We wouldn't be able to afford to pay oop for some of our favorite meals with the special "holiday" pricing.

I hope you're able to find some ADRs and I hope you have a great trip.

How does a transfer of an ADR work? What is the process to make sure that the two parties that are "switching" actually get it? My concern would be that if I am giving a ressie and I call to cancel it - than someone would snag it before the intended party would get it...or do I make the call and just change the name on the reservation.....Thank you for any help you can provide!

I called Dining and gave the new party's name and party size (as far as number of adults and children). I also happened to have their resort ressie number and check-in date, to be sure it is linked to their resort and they could confirm it. I just told Dining "I can't make it, so my friend is taking over."

I know this may be against the "rules," but when calling for ADRs, be flexible on party size also. I called for Boma for a party of two for what seems forever. Then I had a friend say she would be interested in going with us, so I called and asked for a party of two or four and they had a party of four avail, but no party of two.

I've had ADRs before where some of our party did not show. We told the CM at the podium that we lost some of our party and they sat us anyway with the larger party ADR. Another time, when I knew my party would be smaller in advance, I called Dining to let them know and in turn, they tried to make me make a new ADR and the next avail for our new party size was about four hours later. I kept what I had and two less people showed up with our party.

It's an almost sketchy way of getting in, but I would try larger party sizes for everything if I had no ADRs this close to my trip and was completely desperate. I wouldn't ask for a party of 10 and then show up with just two people, but most of the dining, whether it's a party of two or four, they usually take up the same size table.

You may either transfer a reservation or you can announce that a reservation has been canceled and allow people to "fight" over it ;). Seriously, either way is fine. If you are feeling particularly nice you will need a bunch of information from the person you are transferring the ADR to ... essentially the same information they you needed to give when you made the reservation to begin with: name, phone number, number of people, resort name. It might help the restaurant if you also have the number of adults, number and ages of children, high chair needs if kids are little and if the new person is on the dining plan. If the reservation has a credit card deposit on it I don't think you can transfer it. You'll just have to cancel it and give a "shout-out" here.

Hi all! I finally had some success this morning and got our Chef Mickey's Breakfast!!!:cool1: So now I'm just trying to tweak the rest of our reservations.

I am looking for a dinner at Garden Grill (preferably early), for a party of 4, on 12/7, 12/10, or 12/11. I can trade Garden Grill 12/6, Chef Mickey's dinner 12/7, or the Plaza 12/11.

If anyone has an early dinner for any of the following and would like to TRADE for our times (all in the 7 - 8 PM range), please PM me. Otherwise, we will just keep what we have:

12/5 Biergarten
12/7 Chef Mickey's
12/8 LTT
12/9 Ohana
12/10 Whispering Canyon

Thanks!
Jaime

Does anyone have a 1900 Park Fare breakfast for 2 on 12/19 that is earlier than 9:55? Hopefully something between 8 and 9?

I'd be willing to trade my later time slot. We got an earlier CPP than I wanted so now we won't have as much time to go on rides in Epcot before dinner as I'd like. PM me if you've got anything.

I'm very persistant so I'll keeping calling 3/4 times a day and during our trip if no one has anything...

TIA!
