December 2007 Code Watch

MainStMandy, yep. I are funny. All great comedy comes from pain and anguish. Not sure where my sarcasm comes from, probably my mother. :lmao:

Not sure if I will find time for a TR between my Sept and Dec trips. I have not gotten around the last one either. One never knows though. Thanks for the kind words.

I am sure to have an interesting time as I am a magnet for the improbable. :wizard:

Subscribing! We are planning on going Dec. 9th through the 16th. We haven't been there in two years and my family is going through withdraw!

belle&beast, are you guys stalking us? :rotfl2: We will be there there from the 9th thru the 19th. Hope we are rested up from our 24 days in September/October before then. We are planning on going to see ICE at the Gaylord Palms as our NEW thing. Always something new to do. Gotta keep going back!! Look for the lime green SG shirt please??:)

We have a Gaylord in our city and they have hosted the ICE show for the last two years. It's totally amazing..you are going to love, love, love it!!

:lmao: I've never been accused of stalking before! :rotfl2: But now I will be looking for the lime green shirt!

BTW what is ICE? I feel out of the loop!

belle&beast, ICE is an ice sculpture show at the Gaylord Palms that they have during the Christmas season. You can goggle it and get more info.

I have your pictures in my DISer file so maybe I will recognize YOU this time??

I saw pictures seems very cool :lmao: but in all seriousness , how far is it from disney ? We are going 12/18-26th I am assuming I would need a car there is not going to be service to this unless I am mistaken and there is better yet!

Whats the cost? how long does it take? etc etc. Please give me detail more and more details. Our family would love this

digman6, there was a link that told how to get there but I cannot find it right now. As I remember it was fairly easy (near the downtown non Disney properties???) or I would not consider going. I avoid 1-4 at all costs. Thank the powers that be for the new backdoor to DW. I love it!!

I am fairly sure that you can access the info on ICE by clicking 'home' at the top of the DIS page and go in that way too. It gives the prices and such as that is where I got my main info.

I've never heard of the "Ice" show before... I'm going to check that out.

What does everyone think about the Candlelight Processional :confused3

Is it something that my DS (age 14 at our trip) would enjoy as well as my mother and myself?

Anything else we should know about a trip to WDW in December?

Our dates are Dec 8-15th. Hoping for a code. However, we stayed off-site in July because we couldn't get one so that is an option as well.

Minnie, having done the CP my take is that it is not worth paying for the package only to have to stand in line to get in also. Since you can see better from the back you should probably be able to get in to see it without the package (not on the big dates though) I would say it is depending on the 14 year old boy if he would like it or not but I believe he is more likely to like it than not and you and your mom will be awed.

I love to ride the monorail and get off at the different resorts and see the decorations. You can do the same thing with the boats also. One thing I plan to do sometime is something I read about on the DIS boards and that is Bus Bingo. You just hop on the first bus you see, explore wherever it takes you (resorts mostly) and then get on the next bus after that. That might work best for someone who has been often though.

There are so many decorations and special events in December to see.

Hope to see YOU there!!

We will be there Dec 19-30 and I really could use a code. We are staying at the Beach Club for the first time:cool1: :cool1: . Hoping it is as nice as the Poly. Just cannot wait to get back to my Favorite Place on Earth.:cloud9:

ICE is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Go to Gaylord Palms.com and you will be able to access all the info that you will need about it. They will start selling tickets on August 1, 2007. There is nothing on the website yet, but you can click on the left of the screen under special events and from there ICE info should be there. We went 2 years ago and my entire family LOVED it, old and young. They have really big ice slides that you have to walk up a set of carved ice-stairs to get to the top and then slide down the ice-slide. Dress very warm as it is only 9 degrees in there. They will give you parkas to put on but make sure to layer. Gloves, mittens, hats, scarfs and warm socks and shoes will also make it more enjoyable. It is really COLD but so BEAUTIFUL. ENJOY!!!!!!

Does anyone expect the codes for December to give the same discount (rates) and the current code that is good until 9/29 since it is also the value season, or do you expect that they'll be different?

Hi..I'm joining this forum to look for December codes, too! I called to inquire today about AP rates for WL in December Value season. The very pleasant CM said that they weren't out yet, but usually the rates for AP drop to around $100/night or below????? That seems awfully low, anyone out there have this experience before? I was thinking around $140/night standard...Hope I'm wrong, and she is correct!!

Eh, not for WL. The lowest I've seen is $109 for WL and that was a few years ago (when the Poly was $169 - $179). Maybe they will go low for the holiday season but I don't think so.

She may have meant that sometimes the deluxes offer about a $100 savings - but it could be $75 as it sometimes is as well.

We're holding WL Courtyard at a AAA, but am hoping an AP discount might be released that will be even better :)

I agree - a few yrs ago WL and AKL std could be $109 with a Fl resident or AP discount (or pin code), but have not seen those recently as rack rates have gone up, of course :)

Fingers crossed for everyone!:thumbsup2

Hey! A new subber here too!! We just got back from our wedding trip and decided to make another trip down either November 20-25 or December 18-24. I'm a teacher, so those are the only times we can go. Hoping for a good AP rate and that will determine which resort we choose :) :) We'll probably just do a value (Pop) or a moderate since we just spent 10 days at the Contemporary.
