December 2005 Info, Code, Dining, & Special Package Watch! :)

My mom and I are going November 29th-December 6th to celebrate her 70th birthday. Went with Small World and with the AAA discount got the Beach Club Resort for 249.00 a night. Hoping a code or something will come out and cut it down somemore. Saved a lot on air fare. Vermont to Orlando for 59.00. :jumping1:

A couple of other things to try-clear out your history and try again.

Also, try putting in a seven day stay over your dates and work backwards from there. It seems to more readily take a seven night stay than a six (or less) night.

Has anybody booked a delux on an AP for Dec 2-9? I have not bought the AP yet, and was going to wait to see what people were getting for a room.

Help!

I've booked CR 12/3-12/10 and already bought an AP.

This was before the Best Rate program and, since I couldn't book it through the program because of the Contemporary being full that week, I'm sweating it a little bit because I had to persuade my DH to purchase the AP ("but honey, we'll get great room discounts!")

Here's hoping some normal AP codes come out soon!

Well, the person I spoke with last October to book the room screwed up and, stead of a regular Tower Room, booked us for the Concierge level (I never noticed on the reservation that it said Tower Room CLUB).

Anyway, when I tried to change it to a regular tower room, NOTHING was available for that week, the week before or the week after.

The CM said they didn't know why. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the rehab going on. I think that's also a popular time for conventions maybe?

Anyway, we are unfortunately paying the rack rate right now :earseek: which is about $450/night. A little pricier than what we were budgeting for. And, yes, we are stuck on the Contemporary :-).

Well you inspired me to order my ap, so I just did, not at least I can play the game and start calling around since I'll have a voucher number.

Hoping to get Yacht or Poly, but who knows...

OK, you may be OK to use the Best Rate program, I just couldn't for the Contemporary because it was booked.

Good luck and, if I hear anything, I'll post it!

I'm not sure about Poly, but you will most likely be able to get an AP rate for YC or BC. Good luck!

Rachel- do you mean that you think we will be able to get an ap rate (with code) after booking it best rate? I hope you are right. So the Poly doesn't normally have a code?

I think the rate you get with "best rate" will be discounted and I wouldn't count on it going any lower - but you never know! I don't know about availability for your dates, but YC & BC were showing discounted rates when I logged in to Best Rate. I was just "playing", not really looking for anything, but I don't remember Poly coming up -- so that's why I said "don't know about Poly"!!

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you!

BTW, you'll enjoy having an AP, even if room discounts aren't as great as they were in the past. The freedom to come and go at the parks; spend a little time or lots -- that's the REAL value of the AP!!!

Oh! And don't forget the DDE too! It saves 20% on many meals!

I am coming in on December 16th and staying until the 31st, can someone just check best rates for me at the CBeach before I purchase an annual pass? I already have a discount through AAA but would like to see if there is anything better.

I have just started reading this dis board and can't believe I have never found it before. I love hearing and reading all your stories!

Hi! Just joined and am getting even more excited (if that is possible) about our trip Dec 9-17 after reading all the posts here! :earsboy:

We went in April 03, and didn't have much time to plan the trip before, so this time I'm trying to get as much planned out in advance. Also, this time we are going with extended family (13 of us in all) so I think I will need to have some good plans in place. Last time, I lucked into some great character meals, but didn't know how quickly they go, etc. This time I plan on calling right away and have a pretty good idea of what we want to do and on what days.

It seems like most of you have already booked your rooms. I was waiting to see if any codes come out before I start booking, but would you suggest that I go ahead and get a room and then see about getting a better deal later?

Thanks!

Thanks Rachel,
We had been ap holders in the past but went to Disneyland this year so we didn't need to renew. In any event half the fun is researching until you go blind!

EjandMD: you're welcome! :goodvibes

SSPrincessMom: I'd go ahead and get the rooms booked. Do you have AP? AAA? Where does your group want to stay? How many rooms?

When you're 90 days out, you can make your dining ressies for your entire trip (90+10) so you'll want to have everything organized and ready to go in September!

Since there are 13 of you, you might want to look into some Grand Gatherings (need 8 or more to book things like Illuminations Dessert Party, AK Safari.......)

Have fun with the planning and don't be shy about asking for help on these boards!

Gloria,

Welcome! It doesn't look like anyone has responded to your post yet. If you still need help, please post again!

Yes, I am still waiting for a response. I enjoy reading everyone's excitement. Before going on this site I didn't realize how many people felt the same way about Disney as me. I love it! Laura, if you can help with the Best Rate at CBeach let me know. Thanks so much.

We have rooms booked at the beginning/middle of December all under the best rate program-YC, BC and at POP.

YC and BC were $249 (incl. taxes). Hope it goes down some more but at least I saved quite a bit this way and won't be surprised if it doesn't change.

Gloria, I sent you a PM with the info. :goodvibes

Hi,
My first time posting, have been learning lots about WDW, even tho I thought I was fairly up to speed! We're booked at WL on a AAA room only pkg, woods view, saving about $150 over 5 nights. I'm hoping Disney will come out with a discount code that will be even better. The free dining package that ya'll are discussing is the program that currently expires in October? I'm thinking the MYW dining plan is what we'll do if the free dining isn't extended. Any experiences with it? I'm thinking we've spent more than$35/day on our past trips. Our AAA package wasn't saving much on the tickets, I found a better price online @ Official Ticket Center in Kissimmee.
Thanks!
